You do have the directors pulling double duty as editors, like Kevin Smith, Steven Soderbergh, and James Cameron. Snyder has never been one of those super hands-on directors.

My point is, Snyder will have an editor or editors doing the work assembling this film together. He's not going to be sitting down at the Avid, cutting the film himself like Smith or Cameron does. He has to check progress on the CGI shots being rendered, approve completed ones, check the progress on the sound mix, and so forth.

Just some visual similarities I noticed between MOS and some DC animations but majority from Jay Oliva who was the storyboard artist for MOS and director of jl:cote....
At :29 seconds.....Superman flying into Zod after threatening Martha At :33 seconds....Superman sliding towards camera after he and Zod crash into their first building as well as Faora after Superman attacks from the vault At 1:43....Zod swinging metal at Superman on top of Lex construction building At :28 seconds....Zod and Superman flying after Zod gains flight power 3:01 to 3:03...Zod and Superman fighting after the Lexcorp truck attack by Zod 3:56....Superman choke hold on Zod 2:08 to 2:09....Superman, Zod tackle part 2 2:33....Superman getting up after falling out of sky before actual first flight Probably have too much time on my hands but yeah...whatever ![]() Last edited by Isearch4dope; 10-23-2013 at 04:51 PM. |

I hope they keep the grainy look of MOS, while opting for less handy cam shots.

I don't. It worked fine for MOS, but I'd like to see something a little different this time around.
EDIT: I will say that I'll take desaturated and grainy over oversaturated and glossy (i.e. ASM2) any day. |

it looked too gloomy and the suit looked darker than it really was.
hope they go in a different direction as well. |

Is it not valuable to maintain a somewhat consistent look within a franchise?

Sure. I'm not asking for a drastic overhaul. All I want them to do is increase the saturation.

I think small incremental changes from movie to movie could work, as in... Superman is slowly bringing light to the world. |

Im sure it's already been said but i hope they use Watchmen as a source of inspiration, especially for scenes in Gotham. If there are any.(Hope, hope, hope.)
Watchmen is just beautiful, you can hit pause almost anywhere in the movie and you have a piece of art. ![]() ![]() ![]() IMO of course. |

I agree - to an extent. I've said this before, but Watchmen looked like a fan film at times (IMO). I was never overly impressed with it, visually speaking, but I think drawing inspiration from it can lead to gorgeous imagery if done right. |

Those scenes of Dr. Manhattan frying the Viet-Cong were horrifying and I felt sick watching them.
Which demonstrates that they were done well. |

I loved Watchmen visuals and imagery. In some pieces you just are wowed pretty state of the art IMO. Pretty great job there. The New York City was amazing. I'm glad Fong is in this movie.

Actually, no. It wasn't meant to be an insult. Most of the fan films I bother to watch are of decent quality and don't look (particularly) cheap. I'll clarify by saying that Watchmen the film reminded me of a decent-to-good looking fan film.

Also, just thinking out loud here, maybe they could use some 300 influences for Wonder Woman?
