Lou Scheimer, a found of Filmation, who brought us the He-Man and She-Ra cartoons passed at the age of 84.

Big chunk of my childhood right there

I'll always remember him for his work on Masters Of The Universe. He'll be missed. RIP

She also played receptionist Carol on The Bob Newhart Show back in the day, and guested on many other tv and games shows throughout her career. RIP.

Scary coincidence when you read that they would kill off a character a few months back. I didn't know they would kill the voice actor when they did it. Probably a bit tasteless but I think she'd approve given her comedic history.

RIP

They didn't kill off Phil Hartman's characters so they might just write the character out of the show. Granted her character was bigger and more important than Lionel Hutz and Troy McClure.

Especially since she's married to Flanders now.

I think I read they want to retire her character (Mrs. Krabbaple) from The Simpsons out of respect.

Simpsons has sucked for over a decade, but I'm still sad to hear about this. The show can survive, but it's very hard. She was a major supporting character. This would be like the voice of Moe or Smithers dying.

If nothing else the mortality of the voice cast should start TPTB to REALLY start thinking about getting to some kind of end game for the show, what ever it may be, sooner than later.

A part of most of our childhoods just died with her passing. May she rest in peace.

Wonderful actress and like someone mentioned this should hopefully give Fox and Groening the power to start wrapping this show up. I think it would be far too sad to see each of these actors pass on leaving these characters that nobody else could replace.

Like Krypton mentioned there should be an endgame.

If Harry Shearer goes anytime soon it would be game over for me. I just could not see an end to the show that did not include Burns, Smithers , FLANDERS! or Principal Skinner in some meaningful or at least funny way. Just about everyone involved has got their FU money out of this, and those that haven't got that get to put SIMPSONS on their resume. This really puts into stark relief how long the show has been going. Let's wrap it up with as much dignity/hilarity as possible before another 5-6 years pass.
