Maybe I'm the one out of step here, but I appreciate the fact that it was a character teaser, not just "Ooh look! Sentinels!S'plosions!"

The Cap trailer was like that, and I found it very unmemorable.

The idea of this flick sounds really epic, so thats gonna cause expectations and comparisons.
Yeah true point

To each their own. Sentinels are all I wanted in this trailer haha. Been waiting over a decade for them to be added and I really want to see how intense they are on screen. Glad they showed Blink though, and there are some great moments and first looks here.

I know this creative team is completely capable with the dramatic actors and setting a melancholy mood. Thats nothing really new for me in this franchise and I expect that. Especially with Singer at helm. X2 and FC excelled in it. I wanted some unexpected stuff. This felt a bit too manipulative for my taste on trying to make us feel bad for the characters. Music had alot to do with it I think. Still dug it, just wanted them to advertise the film a bit different. At least for my first impression.

I'm sure there will be a fair share of killer trailers for this in the future.

While not as good as Cap 2's trailer, this was really good and very emotional.

It was mysterious and intriguing. I wonder what happened to young Xavier. I got the impression he was pessimistic as opposed to the more hopeful guy we saw at the end of First Class.

I honestly didn't need to see more action. But I wanted to see Fass in full Magneto regalia.

I'm ready for this movie.

Cap 2's trailer sold me on the film but DOFP's plot sold me on the film. Wish I could get more excited for it but will definitely see this in theater and I've never seen an X-Men film in a theater. Hoping for D-Box!

Excellent trailer, though I think I preferred it with 'Time' playing over it.

7/10 for me.

It's alright but nothing to write home about. I'm sick of trailers using obviously overused music from other films that already have proved themselves(I'm also looking at you, MoS and the LOTR score). At least Zimmer's Time was less overused. Should have stuck with that. The new mutants in the future who I've got no idea about who they are seem more like high end cos players to me but we only see them for 3 seconds. Almost all of the shots of the future have that "obviously filmed on a set" look to them especially when contrasted with the 1973 scenes. And as if Wolverine wasn't a prima donna enough now he's gonna be mentoring Professor X(teach me, guide me, oh my lord and savior Wolverine...coolest of all that is cool... jeezus!). So all that I didn't care for. But the rest was innocuous enough and had emotion to it, especially McAvoy.

Which MoS trailer can it be heard? The first piece of music in the trailer is from the movie Sunshine but I don't recognise the second part.

I can't get over the extent to which people get worked up over the score to a trailer. I've watched it three times already and I didn't pay attention to it once.

Well if you're familiar with the piece of music they are using then I'd say it's apt to stand out more.

Yeah they should have stuck with the original music. It actually seemed like the SDCC trailer was spliced together with that in mind. The beats in the trailer were really complemented by the music. You can't just throw anything on top of an already cut trailer and expect it to work.

Personally it doesn't matter to me all that much, but I'd have thought Fox would have taken more care with such an important piece of advertising for a huge movie like this.

6/10 generic trailer with generic music annnnnd...more Wolverine. We haven't seen that before have we!? Sadly it appears the FC crew is gonna take a back seat to the OT cast. *sigh*

I think it's been established that the movie is predominantly the FC era/cast.

Maybe not take a backseat to the OT cast but I'll betcha they'll be taking a backseat to Wolverine.

Wolverine was always going to be prominent. This is Fox we're talking about.

That being said, I think Fassbender/McAvoy/Lawrence are going to give him some competition for screentime/importance. I think things won't be as bad as in the OT with respect to Wolverine stealing the show.

What I'm appreciating more and more is that, while the special effects are not close to being done and all but absent in the trailer, the scenes all feel very real. I appreciate that it isn't some huge green screen orgy that at times, the Marvel films turn into and the Captain America trailer was ripe with--I love that they're filming on location and using practical effects.

I thought the trailer was ok though. It's a good starting trailer to generate some interest. I'm hoping to see some trailers involving some kick-ass X-Men/Brotherhood vs Sentinel action, then I could properly judge it.

I think by the looks of things so far, if the Sentinels are underwhelming then the movie will pretty much suck. Like for example, Sentinels are only released in the second half of the movie.

I forgot which comic/animated cartoon this was from(I think it was Ultimate X-Men) but I'd like to see stuff like Magneto flying up into the air and physically reprogramming a dozen or so Sentinels by opening each of their heads up and rearranging their circuit boards.

On another note, did anyone see that Wolverine was wearing yellow in his costume?!
