Default Texas Has Great Advice for Potential Governor

Quote:
On Thursday, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, who is running for governor, asked Facebook for ideas on how to make the state "even better." Although there were a few well-considered, calmly worded answers, most of the responses seemed very, well, Texan. A few categories stood out:
Close a Border, Really Any Border

Get Rid of Liberals/Muslims

Succeed

Stop Being Governor

I applaud Abbot's intentions here, but seriously he had to have seen these hilarious answers coming.

Why the hell do some on the right think outlawing Sharia Law is a serious issue even worth mentioning

Do they believe that Democrats secretly want to enact Sharia Law in the US and that is their ultimate goal? Do they realize Liberals probably would hate Sharia Law even more then conservatives.

Can they talk this way and then seriously expect me to feel guilty or ashamed of being a "liberal elitist" who thinks he's better than them?

Because the thought of me being ashamed of feeling superior to them is hilarious.

Sickening lack of education and intellect.

It's absolutely disgusting. And these are the people who want to try to tell others how to live?

I'd like to hear Kelly's thoughts on this since that is her home state.

What I've always found interesting about Texas, is that the it can both claim to be the most patriotic Americans, and threaten secession in the same sentence.

It's kind of strange.

They said some revolting things, but is wanting to secede really one of them? What's so revolting about that?

I'm a Texan who's against secession and nullification and believe this whole hooplah about Texas, Lousiana, Arkansas, and Olkaholma forming their own nation is bunch of talk from idiot politicians and citizens who are upset over Obama's administration. Here's my advice to Abbott, don't use social media to get advice on how to run your state, try phone calls cause confused older people will know what to do. Respect your elders kids.

I think one of the most unfortunate stereotypes about Texans is the whole "redneck cowboy" deal. I've spent the bulk of my life in Texas, being born here in 1980...but I'm a city kid. My family lived on the Tex-Mex border until I was about 7 years old, then moved to Dallas; we've been here ever since.

Personally, I wouldn't mind if the Lone Star State seceded from the U.S.; talks of it actually began a few months back. We have some of the most-used ocean ports in the country, so everyone else would be mostly screwed if we became our own nation again. I don't think it should be done hastily, but definitely left on the table as a last resort. I don't want the Feds breathing down my neck anymore, and most hardcore Texans would shoot first, if the "suits" showed up to take their guns.

With a great deal of the country listening to all the anti-American, anti-Christian crap being spewed by Washington DC, New York City, and L.A. these days, very few states are wanting to put up with it much anymore. Aside from Texas, the one state that would probably secede immediately is Utah, because many Mormons are known to be even more fanatical than most rednecks.

Yeah. What a completely baseless stereotype.

Oh you know us snotty anti-Christian elites who live on the coasts. We're not real 'Murricans like you proud salt-of-the-earth. In fact we hate 'Murrica so much, just tonight I was plotting its downfall with some friends in our secret commie Weathermen hideout where we plot which state will be the next domino to fall in our gay-marriage conspiracy and we drink French wine and watch subversive art-house films.

Actually if Texas succeeded the Federal Government would probably do everything they could to move/divert some of those ports to places like Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida

So if somebody doesn't believe what you do they are somehow anti American, or as the republicans say "Don't Understand America" or "Aren't REAL Americans"

Be sure to invite the Muslims, too. They love to plot. Sharia Law, b*tches!

Shariah Law says husbands can rape their wives without consequence, and demands the killing of anyone who refuses to embrace Islam. Ironically, atheists would probably be the first ones decapitated under such a regime.

At least you have the guts to admit it.

Seriously though, only a fool would think no one in this country wants to see it destroyed. The core values the Founders deliberately placed into the Constitution and Declaration have been twisted time and again, by folks with a worldview completely opposite of the values they claim to embrace. For example, "tolerance" used to mean simply accepting the fact that certain things exist in a fallen world, but that term's been changed to equal embracing everything as equally true or valid.
