Well it's been ten years since the events of First Class, so she could have learned in the time between.

Brian has said that Mystique would be more "vengeful." I wonder if her story line will consist of her wanting revenge on the people who are responsible for (maybe) killing Azazel and the lost of baby Kurt, while on a mission. Every time I see that scene of her crying, I wonder if that's why? Using Azazel/Kurt off screen would be the writer's way of telling her story. It could be possible that Azazel taught her hand to hand combat.

10 years is quite a long time. She could have easily mastered a skill in that time.

i do wonder whether there will be any mentions of the events of FC or even xaviers relationship to raven/mystique in the future scenes or if they will keep them things loosely separate to each time period

If Batman could become a ninja in a decade, then Mystique could become a badass in the same amount of time.

She could have a ring or piercings somewhere on her body.

I read somewhere that she is probably wearing handcuffs in that scene.

It looks like Mystique is full on villain and Xavier might be able to convince Magneto to help him stop her. Which is just awesome. Perfect continuation of FC...

I've only seen it mentioned here--and there is nothing to indicate she's in handcuffs. In the same scene we see Mystique without handcuffs transform into an old man. And in those shots her hands are in two different positions. It's pretty obvious she's using her hands to try to stop herself in that shot. On top of all of that we all know how easily she can escape handcuffs from X2.

the shot of her being pulled by magneto is probably cut down so its not fluent, i dont think she handcuffed because her arms are trying to stop herself moving toward him, but yeah it does look like she being dragged by her foot or leg

Now did Jennifer Lawrence have to be dragged across the ground or a floor for that scene?

Will Magneto be in prison when he movie begins then he breaks out or does he get captured in France and breaks out? If it's the former, Mystique and Magneto could have been separated for some time. Maybe he's mad she didn't break him out sooner? Or maybe she abandoned him during a mission resulting in him getting captured?

I get the feeling Mystique will be operating solo and the scene she's being dragged is their reunion.

Bamf and I assume he gets captured in France. I think Beast sees what he's doing to Mystique, and reacts by tearing him apart.

Bamf thinks Beast takes off his inhibitor color and places it on Magneto, which is why he's powerless to defend himself and why Beast has turned blue.

I know there are going to be layers to the character, she won't be black and white but Lawrence hasn't played a villain before so that's why I'm interested in how she is going to play Mystique this time out. I liked Mystique in First Class because she was young and just finding herself. I thought it was interesting seeing that side of the silent damaged killer that we got in the first 3 films. I suspect Mystique still isn't going to be exactly like the original version because the character is still young.

Listen I liked Romijn as Mystique, she is Mystique and nobody can take that away from her, and I liked the character but it was never the deepest character or greatest performance. And I actually think RR is a decent actress but the character didn't allow for an outstanding deep performance but she did great with what she had to work with.

Basically I hope Lawrence gets to add a little more depth to silent killer version of Mystique.

This post isn't about bashing or building up anyone by the way, I'm not into that crap which is why I avoid that vs thread like the ****ing plague.
