I voted for TDK, it has more depth compare to Avengers though I think Avengers is more enjoyable.

I'm one of the biggest batfans in the world and yeah I prefer The Dark Knight Trilogy over any marvel film because of my love for the bat but I don't think one is better over the other. I would only compare TDK to Avengers if they both were aiming to achieve the same goals the movie set out to do but the don't. They are two completely different films.

I'm sitting at home and feel like watching a movie.... Holding TDK and Avengers in each hand, popcorn waiting on the couch.

Maybe next time TDK, I just want to enjoy myself.

I sincerelly find TDK also more entertaining than The Avengers, it has more going around instead of spending half the movie in a Helicarrier

The Avengers was better at first viewing for me, and the gap has become larger after having seeing had repeated viewings of both movies. Both are very good though.

Such a hard choice! I went back and forth but finally settled on Avengers.

Sorry Avengers, TDK all the way.

TDK is a complex deconstruction of the super-hero genre.
ultimately it shows why super-heroes don't exist in the real world.

It has a few flaws, but Ledger's Joker is superb (although Hiddleston in
TDW is simply brilliant, not as scary, but fun to watch, but in Avengers
he's not quite there yet).

Bale's Batman is a complicated, troubled, angry character (unlike the comic book Batman, he's not a genius, scientist, ninja, mechanic, he's got a few of those skills, but he's a much more believable character who needs to rely on others for help).

By comparison the Avengers are very one-dimensional characters.
There's just not much to them. Captain America has two dimensions,
feeling out of place (for five minutes) and then being sanctimonious.
Thor is downright idiotic, quite sad considering how good Hemsworth was in Thor and Thor TDW. Loki is just kind of smarmy and bitter - not even close to Hiddleston's terrific performance in TDW (which was the best thing in the film for me, and I really enjoyed TDW).

Also, Nolan's film has brilliant pace, mood and builds tension to sensational climax.

Whedon's Avengers is very showy, and has some nice comic touches, but there are bits that really don't make sense. It entertains us with brilliant special effects and action set pieces, but that's a distraction from the fact that other than Robert Downey jr, the rest of the cast are pretty much wasted -except maybe the guy who plays Phil Coulson.

I'm not saying Avengers wasn't a good flick, definitely Marvel's best for 2012, (and maybe slightly better than Dark Knight Rises), but not as good as The Dark Knight.

If 10/10 is the perfect film, Dark Knight 9/10, Avengers 8/10.

I don't quite see it that way but if you're right maybe that's why I dislike it so much ( other than the huge plot holes for me I pointed out earlier) but frankly I even enjoyed Watchman more.

I'm very excited for a batman reboot.

You think Attack of the Killer Tomatoes is better than Goodfellas?

No, and that was my point. It's a near masterpiece vs one of the crappiest movies I've ever seen.

Ill go with TDK because I always loved Batman but was never much of a Marvel fan. And , you know, TDK has so many layers to it and its so immersive unlike Avengers which I could stomach only the first 40 minutes of. I tried to watch it but Marvel is just....completely not my thing

Oh, don't call Avengers a crappy film just because it was made to entertain only.

"Batboy"? Is there an anti-Batman agenda here?

So you are comparing light popcorn fare to a great crime drama? That's not fair. Avengers is much better than Killer Tomatoes. That is a wild comparison.

No, I'm comparing a great, fun action film to a self important, intelligence insulting, piss bag of a laughable attempt at crossing superheroes with a crime drama. Tdk and Killer Tomatoes have the crucial thing in common: they're horrible movies, even with the great disparity in production values.
