Question, do you stay in shape? It's not just 6 months with a trainer. That may GET you in shape, but it will not KEEP you there. Maintaining the conditioning of say, Affleck, (I've been getting the impression he remains in shape, I actually don't know) requires CONSTANT up keep.

So, THAT is likely why Val doesn't bother.

Same with Gerard Butler, and many others. If they aren't doing a role that needs it, they don't go out of their way to maintain a 6 pack. It's just not a priority for a lot of people.

When I say in shape I mean not morbidly obese and unhealthy, Butler is not out of shape he's just not sporting an athlete type physique unless he has to, pretty horrible comparison if you ask me.

On a side note Supposed news:
http://movies.cosmicbooknews.com/con...an-vs-superman

The batsuit from the brief look the source had at some concept art was dark grey with black cape, cowl and boots. Description by either the writers or artist at the side read: "Kevlar weaved mesh fabric. Glider cape (source believes similar to that which was used in Nolan Trilogy/Arkham games). Advanced lightweight military grade boots. Custom made cowl with intercom system."

Zack Snyder is heavily involved in whole process of design and fabrics etc.

"Batman Vs Superman" has a July 17, 2015 release starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane

The thing about the gym is that it is ever-so-boring. I wonder whether the reason some pretty dense people tend to work out religiously is that they don't feel any need for cognitive input.

Kilmer ought to get off his derriere and take some exercise, but a world full of people with perfect gym-honed bodies would be a blander place.

I enjoy working out. It feels good, especially when you notice how much you've improved. It's a struggle to get off my ass and do it sometimes, but it's always worth it.

Speak for yourself regwec working out and training makes the body and mind full of energy and happiness and what's wrong with good looking people that are in shape?

No offense to anyone, but if you're not active or don't do something with yourself in an active fasion you're not a healthy person.

There's nothing wrong with it, of course, and I do indeed take exercise. Personally, however, I find it boring and do it out of necessity, and I have yet to meet anyone fanatical about the gym who I found to be very bright or interesting.

The point, I suppose, is that I think it's petty to slate Val for being out of shape. Yes, he should do something about it, but that's his business. I don't lecture flabby people on taking exercise, nor do I lecture thick people on the need to educate oneself.

Butler doesn't look fat anymore. He is back in shape I believe.

It would be good to see Kilmer rededicate himself and get back in shape.

I know Cruise is trying to get a Top Gun sequel off the ground where he is an instructor of a new young group of "top gun" hotshots. I think it would be a great opportunity for Kilmer to get his rear back in shape and try to see if he can reprise his role of "IceMan" and be an instructor alongside Cruise's "Maverick" in the sequel....if it ever is officially greenlit.

Sorry dude but what Kilmer looks like up there, that's obese to me I don't know what your standards are but to each his own. They both look like out of shape and unhealthy fat dudes but Kilmer in the pic in the snorkling outfit is what I was referencing.

Obese, yes, wasn't arguing that. But certainly not morbidly obese. Morbid obesity is generally considered to begin around, approximately, 100lbs over weight.

As for the wet suit, those will make you look much worse than you actually are, take it from someone who has been pushing morbid obesity before, AND been in a wet suit.

Yes but to be honest I feel this is a subject not particularly appropriate for the batsuit thread so I will just let it go. I am an avid fitness enthusiast and most of my closest friends are involved in the industry or very dedicated to it, and it takes loads of intelligence to be where most of those people are physically and mentally so maybe I took it personal.

Depends on what you're going for really. Gym-bodies can be very different. Somebody could focus on cardio, or weightlifting, or even the people who go in for more total body stuff. Heck, you could consider a gymnast a "gym honed" body. All of those body-types are very different.

And even then, there are plenty of home exercise programs if you don't like the gym, or just finding ways to stay active through sports, etc. Heck, if you want to go old school, go outside, find a log, and see how many times you can flip it.

Yes, which is what I prefer to do, but November in Northern England excludes many outdoor activities after business hours, so I have to hold my nose and go to the sweatpit instead.

Anyway, Batsuit.

I'm afraid I don't understand this. Perhaps I am merely unenlightened, but I dispute the notion that eating a boring prescribed diet and doing a lot of pushups requires a lot of intelligence. Experience rather militates against that.

I can't believe I'm letting myself be caught up in this whirlwind of crap too. I like going for 90+ mins a day, because I enjoy it and often, I go with friends, you create benchmmarks and healthy competition for each other. Also, once you're there, it becomes a part of your daily routine.

Anyway, let's steer from one banal conversation to another:

"Don't you think the trunks look silly?"
"No, they're fine."
"Nah,"
"Yah"

Continue.......
