Um, too young. This is someone likely to be hooking up with Cable. Their relationship can't be father/daughter, which is what Winstead would be. Olivia Wilde would be better.

Psylocke - Elizabeth Tan

Eh, not sure if she has enough background. What has she been in? It's all TV series and shorts. I think Maggie Q is better, and I'm sure she can fake the accent if needed.

Selene - Monica Belucci

She is too old. Sorry, but it's true.

I didn't see anyone getting all that upset about Tao Okamoto and Hugh Jackman.

For the record, I see Selene as ageless. She can be any age she wants to be what matters is talent.

Selene's main power is absorbing the lifeforce of others in order to maintain her vitality. When she overexerts herself she ages.

So the best way to show Selene and her power is to have her played by a younger actress, over exert herself during battle or whatever, have her age (via computers and make-up) and then have her absorb someone's lifeforce to become young again.

That means you need a younger actress to play her.

Yes, Tao was 27, and Hugh was a very fit 44. But Wolverine is a couple hundred year old dude, and he can hook up with almost anyone, as long as they are of legal age, like Mariko.

Is there a double standard here? Maybe, but it is what it is...

Or have two people play her. Have Bellucci be Selene for most of the film, then have Sasha Grey or Genesis Rodriguez replace her in the third act once she drains some people in a moment that confirms her as irredeemable. Problem solved. We have both old and young Magneto, why can't we have old and young Selene?

Oh, and about Elizabeth Tan... Hugh Jackman was mostly known tor TV and stage roles before becoming Wolverine. Remember the doubters before the first X-Men film?

And yeah, I'd call a 50-something guy and a 30-year old (when it's being filmed) woman a double standard when a 27-year-old is dating a man over a century old. I mean, Domino has always had a thing for older men as she's dated both Cable and Wolverine but Wolvie is being way more of a sugar daddy here. Not that there's anything wrong with dating anyone two decades older than you.

^ That doesn't make a lot of sense. We have old and young Magneto and Xavier because they were in two different timeline films.

With the technology they have today having one smoking hot, 20-something, dressed in black lingerie, playing Selene and using computers to age her temporarily when she depletes her energy makes more sense.

Why would you want her old for most of the flick, and then later have her absorb someone's lifeforce and make her young. That makes no sense. She should start as young, because if you were Selene that's what you would be, and then later when she has to expend her energy she is shown as aged, absorbs someone's lifeforce and then she is shown becoming young again. Makes way more sense.

All I'm saying about Psylocke is that a Maggie Q is much more known that an Elizabeth Tan.

And ok, I'll agree, there is a double standard in Hollywood. IIWII! It is what it is!

So funny.

Was watching Snow White and the Huntsman on HBO over the weekend and realized, the evil Queen is effectively Selene.

The powers are almost identical. The Queen aged when she used her powers and then she sucked the lifeforce from others to become young again.

Now I'm thinking Selene is not a good option for the villaim!

Domino is currently dating Colossus, so she has "diverse" tastes in men.

Robert Liefeld has said he has read the script and has more or less confirmed Cable and Deadpool are a part of the film or the story is similar to their comic arc. I don't want to take a chance trying to post the tweet(s), knowing me it will come out as some long link. :P

You're hoping for someone you don't even know was in team?
They haven't been memebers of X-Force, so better they dont' have cameo in this movie.
Cyclops as Cable's father should have cameo.

he is 100% attached to the solo movie, so if Fox wants to expand the universe, they may want the same actor for both proyects, in case Xforce works well and they greenlight the Deadpool movie.

Its the smart root.

For me, it would be great to see Archangel and Psylocke, but since they only recently joined the team, I'm doubtful. Enough Wolverine already -- unless he's played by a new actor. (No offense to Hugh, it's just time.)

Though I still keep thinking about how Sunspot and Warpath will already be in DOFP and how Singer likes to use the same cast members in each movie. Granted, I know it's not set who's directing, but am I wrong in thinking -- especially now with Apocalypse -- they've pretty much given Singer the title of franchise chief? If anyone has some authority over the X-men movie-verse, it's that guy.

It would be beyond incredible seeing him face to face with Hugh Jackman. They're both the same height too.

Psylocke has been essentially the main focus of BOTH incarnations of Uncanny X-Force, and she's playing a big role on Spurrier's upcoming XF book. Wadlow has mentioned his love for UXF several times and has mentioned taking elements from ALL of the different incarnations of XF. Liefeld essentially said the same thing. Given all of these factors, Psylocke has a VERY good chance of being on the movie team.
