The absolute inspiration for man of steel is Secret Identity and Earth-2 (throw in a bit of Birthright as well oviously) in my opinion, thematically for the former and plotwise for the latter. Secret Identity was a four part seires and MoS covered the start of the series I'd love to see it contiue the themes from the final 2 parts.

I like the way it was done in Superman/Batman: The Search for Kryptonite. It's in spoilers because it's large and because it's the last page of the book.

Great book, BTW. I recommend it if you can get your hands on it.

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:

What's the line when Bruce calls Clark dumb or stupid or something in ASBR?

ASBAR? All-Star "I'm the g****mn Batman" and "Fast hands, my little Robin" the Boy Wonder? You want references from that heaping pile with it's creepy, psycho, juvenile Bruce? You cannot be serious.

I recall Goyer's comments in Empire about potentially addressing ideas such as how Superman would handle war.

I'd love to see something like this.

I like this. The world vs Superman is much more fascinating than any supervillain going up against him, IMHO.

Warring would think that he was sent from rival factions, and would be afraid of the man in the blue costume, while some innocents would look up to him.
