I don't see why it'd take a long time, anyway. At the end of the last movie, they all parted on good terms, and pairs of them have even kept in touch. You can start the movie simply with the Avengers already being back with the explanation that Stark called them all over.
I agree that there's no need to wade through as much exposition as the first movie to assemble the Avengers this time, but it's going to require a little bit more than just "Stark called them all over." Thor, in particular, is going to require a good bit of explanation, since Tony will assume he's still on Asgard --- as will the rest of the general movie audience. The only people who even know Thor returned to Earth at the *very* end of TDW are Jane Foster and the handful of yucks like us who stick around for the post-post credits.

You don't need to have seen the post-credits scene. In the last scene of The Dark World, Thor announces his will to return to Earth and be with Jane.

That's about enough, IMO.

Thor isn't really one for laying low. He's also the friendly warrior type so a little while after reuniting with Jane, it is conceivable that he then went and contacted the most visible member of the Avengers (and he already knows his address).

Ultimately, regardless of how much effort has to be put into reassembling the team, that effort falls completely on A2.

If it takes 15 minutes to bring the team back together, then Whedon has to find a way to make room for those 15 minutes in A2.

Part of me thinks that the CA:TWS scene will basically be Cap and BW simply arriving at Stark Tower and Bruce, maybe Thor and Hawkeye are already there. Cue snark.

Then another teaser for GOTG.

And that's it.

I'm positive CATWS will have a teaser for AOU, but not for GOTG....the one in TDW is probably the only prelude we get to that film. And CATWS could have a second stinger that teases Cap 3, since TDW did one for another franchise and one for its own franchise.

A GOTG stinger isn't likely for CATWS because there really isn't a plausible hook for it. In TDW the Aether/Power Gem was the element that tied events in Asgard to the Guardians' far-flung exploits. As far as Captain America is concerned, the Tesseract from the first movie is already in Asgard and we haven't seen any indication that another of the Gems will play a part in this movie.

It's barely possible that Peter Quill might be mentioned, if the MCU version shares his comic book counterpart's history as a NASA astronaut. But even that seems unlikely.

i think both CATWS and GOTG will have teasers leading into GoTG... cap2 might show a glimpse of ultron or refer to him, but Gotg will probably have a look at what the avengers are doing at the same time (or maybe quill coming back to earth to warn about thanos' plans)

There could be a news story on TV about the anniversary of some astronauts disappearance

But there's only ONE character from Earth on the GOTG team (Peter Quill) and he vanished in the 1980's apparently. Drax counts to I guess, but he's not an astronaut and if it's like his comic book origin at all, then most people believe him to be dead.

I actually think that would be awesome (especially if Hawkeye was in a more "Hawkeye outfit").

Just watched Thor in imax 3D (first time I watched in imax non 3d)

I have to say the CATWS 5 minute sequence/trailer marks the 1st time 3D on a big screen has really impressed me; **** looks amazing in 3D.

And it was nice to see GSP (quick glimpse when Cap does his super kick)

As for mid credit speculation; that hooded person that attacks Widow; I think it's Bucky, but what if it's Crimson Cowl? (Ultron)

I know, It sounds far fetched, but damn that would be awesome

My other non-Bucky theory would be Von Strucker

Is that WS? It kind of looks like him, but it's too blurry to tell for sure.

Don't post bootleg footage guys. Only things from an official press release, trailer, etc may be posted.

Sounds like someone posted bootleg footage of the CA preview shown before Thor: TDW 3D.

All 3 of them look great. Possibly Cap's best look so far?
