That's pretty damn incredible.
Not to mention extremely vulnerable to back-door hacks that would literally take over Tony's brain and the suit (*koff* Mighty Avengers *koff*).
Then we might get this version of Ultron!!!

Yeah, I think IM3 really set him up to think beyond the armors, I'd like to see some really crazy armor set ups too, but satellite lasers, tons of crazy weaponry, explosives and targetting. Chemical compounds, sonic/illusion tech. Craziness....
It would have been funny, if the whole Iron Man 3 was just Tony's nightmare, like the Dallas dream season. So the Mandarin twist does not exist, and they don't taken out the reactor, etc. But there is no chance for this.

I could also see Ultron being based off of one of Tony's post-IM 3 concepts. However, SHIELD gets a hold of it and decides to try and turn it into a weapon, and it blows up in their faces.

Then Steve says, "This isn't freedom, this is fear." I think they are talking about Ultron. I could be way off but I got a feeling.
Or he could be talking about all those weapons and drones

Me too, though I think that scene will be quite short.

JARVIS: Sir, I seem to be being compromised...
Tony: C'mon buddy, fight this sunnovagun!
JARVIS: I'm sorry, sir... it's now time for you to die.
Ultron: That face right there. I think I'll make it your new desktop.
[End Scene]

The origin of Ultron was kind of creepy in the comics

What if Ultron is Tonys helper robot. When the Malibu house got destroyed he transferred to say a suit of armor. Maybe a misspoken command of SURVIVE.

That would be an awful plot turn, and both cliched and arbitrary.

I felt like Im3 had a lot of ultron clues in it particularly his suites working on their own and the scene where the suit sees pepper as a threat and is about to attack her when she is trying to wake Tony from his nightmare. Tony probably creates a new Ai to man a suite/suites so he doesn't have to be I'm hands on anymore and the Ai evolves.

Haha well he does frequently treat Dummy like ****. If there's an already existing AI of his that's most likely to rebel, it'd be Dummy, not JARVIS. JARVIS and Tony are total bros.

Not being serious about Dummy becoming Ultron though. All jokes here.

I think the whole thing where Tony gets away from wearing the IM suit in IM3 is a huge plot line in A2. Tony has advanced the AI and independence of Jarvis & the armors from him so much that it will play a role in spawning Ultron. I'm not talking an exact Terminator/Skynet story but something with similar themes. In the end, he learns he has to wear the armor or something like that.
Of course, I could be completely talking out of my ass.

But the entire point of Iron Man 3 was to show that Tony is Iron Man, with or without the suit. If in the end of Age of Ultron he learns that he has to wear the armour then it defeats the purpose of his previous movie.

I think Ultron will be a sort of software that makes its rounds through shield and HYDRA, and it gets upgraded with the same software that JARVIS is. I think that we'll eventually find out in ant man that the program that made its rounds was originally created by Pym, and Howard Stark, and that JARVIS is a branch of that original software. The original software makes its rounds, and reconnects with the JARVIS type stuff, and Tony builds him his bodies.

I don't think Tony built Jarvis. Look at his other robots. Dummy. That is some sort of responding AI, or atleast an AI runs it. He can build a super advanced AI in JARVIS, but he can't create decent software in "Dummy"? I don't buy that. I think JARVIS was once real, and he died, and Howard Stark, was able to put his brain patterns in an AI, which was something developed off of what Howard, and Pym originally did

I always thought that Dummy is like over 25 Years Old. Just a Relic from Tony's Youth.

I like that idea, Jon. JARVIS could be the creation of Howard.....and Ultron could be, as well, through a cooperative effort with Arnim Zola.

I still like the idea of Tony having to confront the ghosts of his father and his own daddy issues through this malevolent creation of Howard.

i think everyone will have a role in creating Ultron, but Pym will be the one who originally started it in the past. Ant-man comes out months after Age of Ultron, idc what anyone else says, Pym WILL have a role in Ultron lol

Howard Stark wasn't willing to work with Vanko after discovering his "communist affiliation." why would he work with Zola?

Because Zola was a Nazi.
Ask the same question of the US scientists, particularly in the space program, who thought it was perfectly fine to work with Werner von Braun and all the Nazi scientists who were co-opted into the federal government.

Howard wasn't unwilling to work with Vanko because he was a communist; he knew that from the getgo. He stopped working with Vanko because Vanko was only interested in making himself rich. Implicit in the exchange was that Vanko wanted to sell the thing off to whoever was the highest bidder.

( and my guess is, the reason Vanko got sent to the gulag on arriving back in Russia wasn't because he defected, its because he couldn't get the arc reactor to work )

I think the only person Hwoard Stark may have worked with, if it comes to the software/program that eventually becomes Ultron, would be Pym.

Just my thoughts that Pym will be tied to it in some way, perhaps through an old SHIELD initiative at the outset, and tied into and developed present day through Stark's tech and perhaps Thor's Destroyer, maybe even vibranium tie in to lay the lead in for the Black Panther. Likely this would originate as a need for stronger backup in numbers for the team as the New York invasion showed mass army level threats from space.

Remember there are subtle little bread crumbs connecting all the characters, for instance Iron Man's little power source seemed to be a variation of the tessaract and Loki's stick didn't work to take him over like it did with Hawkeye. Following that line of thinking Pym could have initiated the work in some fashion, but the tech to complete it doesn't come along until Iron Man and Thor, and perhaps Black Panther (remember Thor's hammer striking Cap's shield and that subtle mention of the rare metal used to make it), enter the picture. I've not quite figured out how Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver play in but I suspect the Scarlet Witch may hold the key to defeating Ultron which plays to an entrance by Vision in a later film somewhere.

I do fear that with an old Pym we will be unlikely to get a good Wasp intro as I would have liked, but they could make up for it by throwing in Katee Sackhoff as Carol Danvers properly, and setting the stage properly for the introduction of the Vision. I have faith in Whedon because he has done well so far and OMG mad kudos on Spader for Ultron...perfect.....if you haven't seen his work on The Blacklist you should check it out...that voice and mannerisms he uses for that character...I'm sure he may tweak it a little bit, but he won't have to go far cause it is so Ultron like, though maybe without any screeching.

I also suspect there could be some unforeseen angle with AIM/Hydra since Agent's of Shield seems to have been regulated on the use of either of those as their main protagonist which would have seemed logical. Maybe Super Adaptoid someday as a main Avenger's villain? Might be hard to pull off visually but a fanboy could hope.
