Guillaume Rocheron has also been added as 'visual effects supervisor' for this film -- he's a VFX supervisor at Moving Picture Company (MPC). Did work on Sucker Punch and MOS, so no surprise he's back on.

yep. sorry. I meant Legacy Effects.
If they want to do makeup with Brainiac I think this is the right place for future films. but his work is pretty impressive in some other areas.

It's such a shame... but the work keeps being solid, right?

Yup. Legacy Effects have done a really great job with Iron Man 2 and Iron Man 3.

^^^ To you aside from WETA, which other companies do you think are the best and should be working on this sequel?

WETA, MPC, Double Negative, Rising Sun Pictures, Gentle Giant Studios, Framestore,
and Prime Focus VFX are some examples. 4 out of the 7 mentioned worked on Gravity so that might be why.

Yeah that movie had pretty awesome effects. If some of the listed can give great shots to Superman flying as they did on Gravity. I guess Snyder will and should have some of them on his short-list.
But the first one I'm sure is in and I hope they do plenty of the job on this sequel is WETA!!

There is a chance of weta becoming the main vendor. Even though thry will be busy with vfx work on then3rd hobbit
Movie , they still could handle The big shots of this flicks. Im hoping they work on the digital doubles because i just wasnt a fan of the digital doubes in mos. Double negative was responsible for thos shots and i just didnt think they looked real.

While I agree that Weta must do most of the CGI of MOS2. I didn't agreed of the double negative. while it normal speed it looks really cool and you need to freeze the image to notice some issues and you can't denny the difficulty of adapting Superman (he doesn't wear a mask or helmet)
MPC also did some CGI doubles as Double Negative, and most of them were really cool. Most of them were pretty good but due to the speed effect most of the shots weren't clear enough to see at first glance.

notice these shots, If I haven't been told this is CGI, I wouldn't have noticed.

I really appreciate how Snyder did adapt superspeed and how superman will look in a real world. But I mean in the next movie I want to see some Slow-motion and slower glances of Superman.
I want to know if Weta is good at CGI doubles (also I hope some practical effects for Supes) because he hasn't done this kind of effect (I mean real faces).

I thought those shots were pretty obviously CGI but that doesn't always mean it's a bad choice. Just like anything, it ultimately depends more on the user/designer/artist than the tool.....and anything fantastical when it comes to humans in any setting/context still remains the most difficult of all.

Actually those shots used the real actors but they overlay-ed CGI onto them for the effect.

The ones I showed you aren't especially in movement. there are real.
The ones with Faora are the best looking IMO.
especially this one with a level of difficulty pretty hard.

So the real actors flew/jumped/got thrown at lightning speed? Cool!

This one's a combination...probably 'real' right as it does that quick move in when he's getting choked. But again, I don't have an automatic aversion to 'CGI' as others may have, but it depends on how it's used. I personally thought a lot of these were a bit cartoonish, but not the worst ones out there.

Respect your point of view. To me this shots were great developed althought some of them have issues. But again the great dificulty of the character is on the table. Hope in this next movie a little of slow-mo, and that some tech advance gives Supes even more realism that this movie clearly done in the way never has been done on screen in his full-glory

To me it seems that the more fantastical and stylized the setting, the better in Snyder's movies in terms of VFX.

Sean Santiago is serving as stereoscopic supervisor on this film. He worked in similar capacities on MOS, Green Lantern and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4072380/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1

Makes me wonder who WB has contracted to do the 3D conversion. Stereo-D has done a pretty good job in the past, and while they were on shaky ground at first -- they did a good job on some recent titles. Would like to see them work on this film.

Remember there was early talk about doing MOS in 3D, but then they decided not to? Good thing too, as all that shaky handheld would have people vomiting in the aisles from motion sickness.

The shot of Superman flying in the air is my single favorite shot in the movie. If we watched people being thrown with superspeed in real life, it would look exactly like that.

Probably, anyway.
