I'm looking forward to the Mark X killing a bunch of muties. It looks like it could be fun to watch in motion.

Shapeshift? Cool
I guess they'll be able to self-repair also? Has that been confirmed yet? |

I am not sure, according to empire magazine they are indestructable. Which is why the X-men must use the time travel as their last hope to stop them.

I wouldn't be surprised if they have Cerebro's capabilities, especially since we know that the X-mansion has been turned into a prison/laboratory in the future.

Haven't they always had mutant detection anyway?

Yes, they've always had mutant detection but they've never had Cerebro-level detection where they can locate mutants across the globe.

I dig the look of the future and past Sentinels. I like the past ones a bit better, but obviously technology should evolve over time so it makes sense that the future ones have little in common with their past counterparts.

I hope they have a voice akin to the X-Men animated series.

The difference in past to future tech is amazing. Not just the sentinels but the military vehicles and weapons as well
I hope we see some of the Sentinel models between I & IX. Even if it's just prototypes in a factory

I'd like it if the Sentinel's history was told in flashbacks, someone from the future explaining how they came to be what they are now, that way we could get the see the classic Sentinel's we're used to.

i think the idea judging from what the trask website says is that the 70s design was the one used untill 1996 then for whatever reason they vanished
the 70s sentinels look advanced enough to go decades

I like the "Future" design that they have, but I was, I think like most, hoping for something more comic accurate. I felt that the Mark I design looked like a really nice prototype version of what's in the comics, so I was expecting the Mark X to be just like the comics. I think the transformation feature is certainly neat.

I loved the Future Sentinel, I cannot wait to see it in action, REALLY loved it, sure it's not the classic Sentinel look, but it's waaaay scarier, the Future Sentinel actually looks like Todd McFarlane's Nimrod and you know what? it works perfectly well.

The 70’s Sentinel is the mark I and the future is the mark X so there's eight additional models over the decades that we'll hopefully see.

It doesn't say there was a mark 2, 3 onwards, it just says that design was going till 1996 then a big gap of nothing

Yeah, I'm curious to see how, or if, the movie explains the emergence of the dystopian future. In the books, flashbacks are shown while Kitty tells the X-Men how things came to be. Perhaps in the movie Xavier will read Logan's mind, and we'll get glimpses of it then?

I think Sentinel X looks great.
Very shocking, but that (along with the images of the flying ships in the background of the covers) seem to convey a much grander sci-fi scale and influence than I was expecting in the design.

Yeah the website has been very coy about anything between the Mark I and Mark X. I'm suspicious there never was a Mark II, III, etc. The site did mention upgrades, so perhaps the logic was more along the lines of Mark 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc. Also, the "X" might be a letter and not a number. "X" for mutant perhaps.

What I like about the future design is that it looks so inhuman. The softer, colorful, rounded and somewhat sillier elements of the 70's Sentinel are gone. There's no "let's sell this to the public" aspect to it.
It suggests that humanity has lost control, and that the things might well be running themselves.

I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet but Mark X is the Deadpool (XOW) of Days of Future Past.

So maybe the mimicking of powers really did come from Rogue (or Mimic?) and that was a spoiler. Or it could just be mentioned without ever showing Rogue? I wonder if Rebecca "The Best Mystique" Romijn has a cameo in this as well. |
