That's how I interpreted it, based on the things I've read and heard. Shannon's Zod has no will of his own, he's programmed. He's just a poor little robot. I think Shannon himself said something like "he's not evil, but I disagree with his point of view". So he's not really a villain, just a talking tsunami. At least that's how it comes off in interviews etc. Stamp's Zod is more like Adolf Hitler from space. He knows what he's doing.

In some cases it probably is. Some fans of the old movies feel threatened when something new comes along (and new fans attack the old ones).

I thought Man of Steel was okay, but far from the best Superman movie. I didn't expect Superman 1978 all over again, I wanted something different this time. I just think the classic movies did it better (and even Superman Returns).

Maybe I'll like Superman vs Batman better.

I liked Iron Man Three's twist simply because it was an attempt at something different to the whole 'bad guy' plot in every superhero movie.

I didn't have a problem with the twist anyway. The villain who was revealed to be the Mandarin, however...

I think most would agree Cage is great. It's just that he's been in some terrible movies, but few (if any) of those movies were bad because of his acting.

I like the casting of Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.

I think I win unpopular opinion of the day, according to the comments on the front page.

I think it's a unique choice, but I don't know. I think they're trying to pull another Heath Ledger here, by casting somebody who you wouldn't expect to play the character, and I don't think it'll work as well as they're hoping, but we'll see of course. I loved Man of Steel, so of course I'll be giving this film a chance too (I just hate how we have to wait until 2016 to finally see it, but I guess there will be enough good stuff from Marvel to whet our appetite until then... but this film better darn-well be a masterpiece with this long of a wait).

I see some talk about Man of Steel. I really liked Zod's and Superman's last scene, where Zod is about the burn those civilians with his heat vision.

@Dye Lorean: Me too. It worked thematically for me because Tony spent most of the movie in fear of some cosmic threat.

The "bad guy was not who you thought" had been done many times before IM3.

I like Eisenberg as Luthor, he is a great actor and it looks like an interesting direction for the character. Not too fond about Irons as Alfred though, too cold, I would have preferred someone like Geoffrey Rush. But he's also a good actor and he will be fine probably.

I'm not saying I don't love it but The Crow is one of the most grossly over rated movies ever. I love it, I'm just not obsessed with Eric Draven like almost every other 90s kid I've ever known.

Something about Eisenberg, I don't think I will like him as Luthor

The Crow: I don't love that movie, it's alright

Speaking of this, why was the title card at the end of the movie like this? IRON MAN THREE?

I didn't get why they did that or am I thinking too hard on it and it was just a creative choice?

Word. The idea had never occurred to me to me before, but immediately I was on board. The lizard-like coldness he shows in those deposition scenes in The Social Network are genuinely kinda creepy. He brings an unshakable, self-satisfied confidence to those moments that are perfect for Luthor.

And speaking of Luthor, not only do I not like Kevin Spacey in the role in Superman Returns, I think he's actively bad in the part. He vacillates between a joyless brooding and a campy goofiness that's tonally all kinds of wrong. Kind of like the whole damn movie. Say what you will about Gene Hackman, but he at least seemed to be having fun. Spacey (and Singer) wanted to have their cake and eat it too.
