Actually I find the peace and quiet to be a refreshing chance of pace, especially with the way things were going a few weeks ago. Frankly it was starting to feel increasingly unhealthy, for everyone. I'm grateful to the guy for bowing out and sticking to his word. There's truly nothing left to debate, we've argued every inch of the movie to a stalemate. If people miss the excitement they can always go back and read a whole year's worth of heated, intense debates between milost, myself, Joker and shauner, etc. It's literally no different than anything that would be said if we were doing it now. Everyone has said their piece.

Time to move on.

Darn. Green Goblin stole my joke . I was going to use that when Batman vs. Superman came out ("now there's evil rising...milost has to come back").

But yes, it looks like the debate is over. It was a pleasure, men. To all of you.

Ditto to you Shika. Maybe in later down the road we'll revisit it, perhaps with time offering us slightly different perspectives. After all, fans still debate Batman Returns to this day. Things cooling down was inevitable one way or another. But I'll look back fondly on the last year and a half. I'm not sure I'll ever spend so much time and energy discussing one movie ever again.

Meanwhile I'm still morbidly waiting for the BB/TDK/TDKR threads to get merged into one subforum. That'll be a sad day.

I was gonna start a thread asking who was a better villain - Bane or Ra's? But figured I'd just bring up the question here. Kind of wish Milost were here for this one.

Ra's, in my opinion.

In this universe i thought Bane was the better villain than Ras. He was much more of a villain than him.

Oh and Shika, BatLobster, we shall continue this one day. Im sure itll happen at some point during the making of this Batman vs Superman movie. The latest would be when the movie drops in May 2016 but i have a feeling we'll revisit it sometime this year after we get a little bit of footage from the Snyder stuff. It'll be hard not to compare the 2 universes or TDKR with BvS. Something will set us off

Your wish is my command.

For these films? Liam Neeson Ra's Al Ghul, no contest. Bane is/was awful and pretty much a pathetic 'Al Ghul-lite'. Also, Ra's Al Ghul wasn't coming off the greatness of seeing such a fantastic Joker performance PLUS a story that featured Harvey Two-Face, nor did he have Marion Cotillard pop in and steal his origin/background.

Rank them all?

- The Joker

- Ra's Al Ghul (interchangeable)
- Dent/Two-Face (interchangeable)

- Scarecrow

- Talia
- Bane

Ra's was definitely the better villain, but Bane was more entertaining. I like all the villains in the series, except "Talia" because she did less than even Sandman in Spider-Man 3 lol.

In the comics? Ra's. But it is unfair as Ra's is one of the best villains of the comics while Bane is rather mediocre there.

In the Nolan films? Bane. Ironically, Nolan's Ra's left a little to be desired. Neeson was dead-on in his performance (if it was a bit Bond-ian at times), and the look was great, but the writing took away too much of what made him unique. He made a good villain for that story, but not an iconic one you remember years later unless you're a hardcore Batman fan (ahem, looks around the forum).

In the opposite direction, Nolan took a silly villain who only hardcore fans thought had any value and made him a household name, as well as one of the most memorable onscreen baddies of the last few years. On top of that, Hardy gave an overall strong performance, because the character felt so entirely fleshed out and developed as a person, despite Hardy having half his face covered the whole time. He conveyed a sense of genuine menace, a rarity in superhero movies these days, and has at least one scene that will go down as one of the all time Batman villain greats on film (taken from his best scene in the comics). He also has one of the most unique and interesting plans of any blockbuster villain ever in Hollywood cinema.

So in short, Bane a country mile.
