Of course it is, everybody barely has two movies at this point. It's also moving faster then any other franchise on top of it with 2 movies a year. Lucky we are getting GOTG before other Avengers.

That said, I agree. Looking forward to the new properties like GOTG, Nova, Inhumans and Runaways the most.

Sony's Spider-Man. Can not wait for TASM2.

2nd would be Iron Man, even though IM2 was very formulaic and forgettable, the last one was original.

Captain America is my favorite Avenger, so naturally, that's my favorite solo franchise in the group so far. Although, if you'd asked me before TWS, I probably would have said the Iron Man franchise, despite my preference for Cap as a character. TWS just gave him the movie he deserved, and with the same team and a very clear narrative drive already in place, I'm incredibly amped for the next installment.

Very much looking forward to GotG too though, and the potential franchise(s) it could lead to.

Cap's been in the best movies, but I like the Iron Man character and his supporting cast the best.

I feel like Cap's had the most consistently good movies. TFA was good and TWS was great.

-Iron Man was great, Iron Man 2 was meh at best, and Iron Man 3 was also meh.
-The Incredible Hulk was good, but he's seemingly not getting another solo film anytime soon.
-Thor was good but TDW was meh.
-Avengers was great, but we'll have to see how AOU goes before making judgments on that.

When the MCU was first starting I wasn't a fan of any of the characters that were going to be in the MCU. But after seeing Captain America: TFA, and The Avengers, I'd say Cap is my favorite.

I think TFA is the best solo MCU movie by a lot, and also Cap made me laugh harder than anyone in The Avengers. "I think it runs on some kind of electricity"

Still haven't seen TWS yet :/ there hasn't been a good time for me to go see it

After seeing Cap 2 and digesting it for a week, I think the honor of best solo franchise goes to Captain America. I thought TFA was one of phase 1's stronger films, and his franchise is the only one to undisputedly increase in quality in phase 2, no less being one of the MCU's 2 best films easily. I've always held a Captain America bias, so it was probably going to be my favorite anyway, but I think it is true on a quality standpoint as well. I love all the franchises. I'd probably say my preference order goes:

Captain America
Thor
Iron Man
Hulk

I traditionally read more Iron Man than Thor in my life, but I think Thor has the MCU's best villain in Loki for support, and villains have always been a bit of a problem for Iron Man. That problem has been present in the series, Iron Man 2 being the biggest example. The Iron Man series is mostly all about Stark the character and RDJ just being so delightful to watch. I rate Hulk last solely because he only has 1 solo, and that solo had Edward Norton (not Mark Ruffallo who I think is a better Banner). Hulk may get higher if he gets an awesome sequel.

Thor definitely has the best villains of the MCU characters. Loki, Enchantress, Surtur, Ymir, etc.

We're just discussing our favorite film franchise produced by Marvel Studios, not by Sony, Fox, etc.

I'd say my favorite solo franchise is Captain America: he's my favorite Avenger and I simply loved CA:TWS (it and The Avengers are equally my two favorite MCU films).

Iron Man, strictly for the first 1-2 acts of Iron Man and the entirety of Iron Man 3.

This is difficult because I love each of the franchises for different reasons. Although this is a list, they are all pretty much equal enjoyment for me.
Iron Man
Thor
Captain America
Hulk

Iron Man is still my favorite but Cap so far is showing more consistency. The Iron Man films have slowly been getting less great with every sequel while Cap is staying even. Hulk may be my favorite character but his filmography so far leaves much to be desired over-all, even though I did enjoy TIH.

I gave the Iron Man movies a 9.5/10, an 8.5/10 and a 8/10 for each movie in the order released.
I gave both Cap films a 9/10.
TIH I gave a 7.5/10 and Anghulk(I know it really isn't in this continuity) a 1/10.

The Thor movies both get 8/10's so he's consistent as well, just on a lower level. Thor does have the top MCU villain, though.

Cap for me. Not only is he my favorite Marvel character in the comics anyway, but even ignoring that I feel like his franchise is the only one of the bunch that went uphill after its first installment.

Couldn't agree anymore. Loki is the strongest and most developed villain in the MCU in my opinion. Also, Thor casted relatively unknowns for Thor and Loki and it was perfect so that's a great achievement as well.

I'm not a big fan of the Iron Man series. First movie aside, it's just the Robert Downey Jr Show,in the same way the Pirates of the Carribean sequels were just More Jack Sparrow.

The Thor movies are amusing, but the uninspired art direction pulls them down for me. Instead of either going a) full-on crazy Kirby Asgard, or b) a grittier, more Norse inspired fantasy realm, the first film went for a kind of plasticy, uninspired, Flash Gordon look which just comes across as very fake indeed. The Dark World tries hard to make Asgard and Thor and co look more convincing and realistic, but the damage had been done by that point.

Thor really, really needs a director with a strong vision.

Captain America has had one good movie and one very good movie, so is the winner. The First Avenger suceeds by never forgetting it's Steve Rogers' story, never getting too far away from it. The sequel is completely different, it's a great action movie, something none of the other Marvel movies can claim to be.

As for The Avengers, it's just a huge budget pilot for a TV series. It's fun by default of throwing all those beloved characters together, and having loads of fan pleasing moments, but it's not a great movie.

I have always been a Cap fan and love what they did with both TFA and TWS. Chris Evans is an excellent Steve Rodgers.

(Edit: who the hell is Rodgers? Stupid typo.)
