I've just started reading the first few pages of Trinity War's first part, and wow. They really do call Captain Marvel "Shazam" now.

I only read Green Lantern and Batman prior to the New52, so I never really got used to calling him Captain Marvel. Now it sounds weird when I hear other people do it. To me he's Shazam.

I go the other way 'round. I'm used to calling him "Captain Marvel" or "Billy Batson"

Did you not know his actual name beforehand, though?

I knew of it, but because I didn't read anything with him in it (save for small rolls in events and such around the time of Infinite Crisis) I didn't really give it much thought. So when he debuted in the New52 as Shazam, I thought it was a little weird but quickly got used to it.

I don't think its ever going to be something I get 100% use to. I mean, I get it, but it's like…thats not his name.

It bothers me because thats the word not his name. I also just do not like new 52 Billy or Captain at all.

Unfortunately it's due to B.S. corporate decisions, red tape, dopey copy right law, whatever.
He is and always will be Captain Marvel. Creatively it made no sense to change his name. As a long time fan I find it insulting. I love Carol Danvers, but she is not nor will ever truly be Captain Marvel.
It's just a dumb copy right battle; Mark Twain put it best "Only one thing is impossible for God: To find any sense in any copyright law on the planet."

Rumor: DC Launching 5 New Ongoings in June, Pandora Canceled?

Feel free to take this with as many grains of salt as you like, but it has come to our attention through an anonymous source that DC has plans to launch 5 new ongoings in June as well as cancel the “Pandora” book (which will actually end in May via a stealth cancellation).
If true, the five new titles are:
Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
Booster Gold
Superman and ARGUS
Nightwing and Bluebird
Young Justice
Forever People

Cool beans, a new Green Lantern title!

I'd be excited for the third one listed (and partially blacked out). I don't really care about the rest unless there's an appealing cast in the fourth one.

Eh, that rumour began on /co/. I was in that thread. OP said he found out by looking at the data that would be on the webpage that hasn't been published as of yet.

But he gave no screenshots, so even if Forever People was announced, I wouldn't put too much stock in it.

Do I have to read the Court of Owls to read Death of the Family?

I always thought captain marvel was a marval superhero. It does make sense if you think about it

I don't mean to sound like a jerk when I say this because I'm actually quite impressed with Artistsean's work, but I don't think this is the thread for it. The art threads would be better. I like what I see, but I get a little disappointed when I come in here looking for New 52 news and it's fan drawings.

It makes much less sense when you know that Marvel was once called Timely and Atlas, and that Captain Marvel existed 20-30 years before that name change.
