Default The Official Book Recommendations Thread

Pretty simple. Just suggest books for everyone.

Personally, even though everyone has probably read it by now, I really enjoyed Perks of Being a Wallflower. If you haven't read it, I suggest that you do so as soon as possible!
I need new books though. I want something with good Whedon-ish dialogue. That's the main thing I'm looking for right now is just great dialogue.

i have read Perks at least 4 times

you might like Paper Towns by John Green if you're looking for something slightly similar, with some witty dialogue

The Haunting of Hill House, by Shirley Jackson. One of the best haunted house stories ever written. With it, you never read the same text twice: there is always another layer of meaning to peel away.

I've heard about it, is it better than his other stuff? The whole "Shows up at his house dressed like a ninja" seems a bit kooky to me. I love John Green as a person, all of his writings just seem so overdramatic sometimes. I think he does it on purpose, but it's distracting sometimes.

I'm intrigued! Added it to my list. You need any suggestions?

that part actually is partially why i put off reading it but once i read it, i really enjoyed it. it's not as "deep" as Fault in Our Stars, or Alaska, but it is a fun read. i'd actually read it again

i mean honestly, it's not the best book i've ever read, but i did have some actual laugh out loud moments. it's a good book about friends

I'll have to check it out then. I'm intrigued.
