^ Yeah, I saw the second one. The stylized stars blend better with the overall design.

That's IT! Diana will be Snowflake Woman in BvS. "Wonder" Woman is overused, cliche at this point. Give her an additional power to control snow and there you have it. The most powerful superhero this side of the North Pole!

Actually, in all seriousness, if they do go with the five-pointed star, I hope they use metal and not white (especially not white paint if the costume is made of leather). Metallic is just kewl.

I can understand the heavy red/blue/stars American theme for WW when she was first created, but I think it should be toned down for this movie. I'm fine with supes still exhibiting many of his American traits because he grew up in Kansas, but WW didn't.

Not a fan of it at all, it looks off for someone who represents an otherworldly foreign nation to wear an outfit that looks like an american flag (made worse when they replace the gold with silver), It's a design choice I hate, I will agree the other star is a bit OTT, but I'd prefer something other than the traditional five point star, maybe 6 or 7 points?

It's supposed to look like the American flag. It's not a coincidence. The design depends on the origin story of the costume.

If you don't like that, then why not get rid of the stars altogether but you also have to tweak the costume origin. And just to be clear, I'm not arguing against changing it.

Other than fanboy websites the general public knows one version of Wonder Woman...the classic outfit. That's what most are expecting, pretending its not is kind of laughable to me.
I'm open to alternatives, though I'd prefer her good ol onsie tastefully done.

I understand that, I just would prefer the costume origin not be in line with the original origin. Like MrsKent said it made sense when she was first created, but I think it's time to drop it, and honestly I wouldn't mind if the stars got dropped completely, but I think if they simply changed them so that they don't hearken to the American flag it'd look great.

I have no problem with a superhero wearing patriotic US-inspired costume. (Captain America is perfect example).

When WW was created, the world was black and white. Hitler was the freakin' devil. America needed a Nazi-fighting hero and WW filled that need.

But today's audiences are far removed from the 1940s (and more savvy). The world exists in shades of grey now. When I think of any royal member from any nation, I just cannot buy that they'd wear the flag of any other country. It almost seems treasonous.

DC/WB just needs to create an Amazon flag and be done with it. Many flags around the world use red and blue and stars. So the Themysciran flag has that leeway.

All that said, the Perez explanation of how Steve's mom, Diana Trevor, was a hero to the Amazons, could make sense for an American-inspired uniform, I guess. But a statue honoring Diana Trevor sounds more fitting...with WW wearing a Themysciran costume when representing her people in the outside world.

The question you have to ask yourself is: would the classic WW suit be consistent with the universe MOS established? The answer is, quite simply, no. It's too camp, too gaudy, too dated, too American - everything MOS worked its hardest to avoid. When the suit is revealed I think a lot people are going to be surprised.

I have no issue with them keeping the red/blue colors or even using some stars, but the costume doesn't have to be quite as Americana-inspired as it once was. I think that would make the most sense for this movie; however, I do have a soft spot for this:

The problem is MOS was sci-fi and we don't know how that world would handle WW.

Superman's costume was still basically the same other than the removal of briefs and changing the material.

So it's not so clear to predict how WW's costume is going to change.

Then what's the fine line between looking like an American flag and looking like other nations that also use red, blue, and stars?

Classic design

I like this design, apart from the sandals and the material above the symbol.

Both are good. Like you, I'd prefer no sandals or fabric around the neck.

That's really nice. When people talk about her looking "royal," this comes to mind. It's just a little bit fancy. The boots are particularly nice. With some kind of straps/shoulder armor on the top, this could be great.

I so am hoping for a variety of options at this point, either in BvS or JL. The varied concepts floating around here prove that you can do a lot with just the classic colors and motifs for many interesting looks.

And call this sexist if you must, but to me WW is like Gaga, Beyonce, Debbie Harry, Streisand, Angelina Jolie, Margaret Thatcher, Madame Currie and Mother Theresa all rolled into one times ten. Other than the nun on the list, do any of these women seem like the type to wear ONE outfit every day?
