Yes I do. I'm the one that will go see a movie soley for Aquaman, I'm the one that collects Aquaman back issues, im the one that bought the Flashpoint DVD and the skin on Injustice for Aquaman, I'm the person that had his GF buy him and Aquamn hoodie and t-shirt, I'm the one that cares along with many others. You talk about how there is a stigma with the character oitside of hardcores like me than why wouldn't you cast a Oscar winning actor to avail him of that stigma?

Also to say no one outside of hardcore DC fans cares is just plain wrong, why was his relaunch book in the Top 5 the first year it was out? Why was there a crossover with JL the first year the book was out? Why has he been included in almost every media project since 2010? Why is he getting his one DTV animated movie? There is more interest than you think?

Arthur needs some vulnerability when younger. I'm not certain he has quite the range to pull that off. Now as an Arthur that has been on a chain gang in Atlantis for a few years while getting to know Vulko ect.? Yeah, I can see Jason as a hardened by life Aquaman/Arthur.
I like his as an actor but I don't feel he will fit this role. I also don't think he will look good with a dye job.

For him it is, to me, I remember read a long time ago how his hair color tied to his lineage and how many thought of it as questionable in Atlantis that he was queen as he hadn't the hair of his family. I belie bit had to do with his father being blonde and his mother not being blonde and his hair was a symbol for his mainlander genes..
To me, hair color is more important on the comic pages because, for the most part, comic heroes are all drawn the same outside of costumes. Things like hair and eye color, as well as hair style are essential to differentiate and personify a character on paper. Especially when it's a character that will be drawn by several different artists. However in the real world it's easier to tell people's faces apart and things like hair style and color matter less. You can tell people apart in movies simply because they are played by different people. However some characters' hair is a factor in their iconic look. Like wolverine's hair, for example, vs Peter Parker's hair. To me aqua man, not having a mask, would be better suited as blonde to stay true to his iconic look. It's just not a deal breaker for me if he has darker hair.

Momoa as Aquaman huh? seems like it's been a while since we got a pretty good casting choice.

Honestly, and not so much because of hair color, but it just occurred to me that he would be far better as namor.

There is no interest in Aquaman outside the comics. Doesn't matter if the comic sells 200k a month. No one cares about Green Lantern either and that was a top selling comic for a while.

Riiiight there is no interest outside the comics, that's why he has his own DTV coming out, that's why he was a featured character in a DTV already, that's why he was is a fan favorite in Injustice . Ok.

DTV? Who buys DTV's? Fans of the characters already. You won't see the average joe or jane buying those animated movies.

Look don't get me wrong, i like Aquaman. But the people who don't give a crap about comics and video games and dtv animated movies? You know, the people that make up 95% of cinema goers? They don't give a **** about Aquaman. Or Green Lantern. Or any DC hero who isn't Supes, Bats, Wonder Woman and maybe Flash.

Yea, sorry to break it to you.

That doesn't mean Aquaman isn't a good character though!

Course not. Popularity doesn't have anything to do with good or bad characters. Really, there is no such thing as a good or bad character. Just poorly written or well written ones.

That's pretty narrow minded. Let's say you're right, at one point people didn't give two ****s about Iron Man either, that turned out alright. Just because you think that doesn't make it fact.

Oh and you'd be suprised who buys those DTV's.

It's not narrow minded. It's the truth.

And yea Marvel proved with Iron Man, Thor and Cap you can turn at best B-Listers into mega stars. The same could happen with Aquaman, no doubt. But at this very moment in time, the only people that care about the guy is us.

I agree. I'd even venture to say Aquaman is not only a good character, but a solid B+ of a character.
