Blade? I'm not versed in that lore, and I'm not aware of any other superhero movies he has written.

In any case no writer is rigid enough to not change their approach. No one knows where the DCU can go from here. It wasn't too long ago both Snyder and Goyer were quoted as to not being interested in being involved with a Superman movie, yet here we are.

I have to believe they put out that prequel story for a reason. And the time period when it ended wasn't a mere coincidence.

My whole thing with casting is how good the actor is.

With Ben, I love The Town. One of my favorite films. So badass. I liked Argo also.

While I don't like Jesse, he's a good actor.

Momoa is good.

But Gal is the weak link.

I do like the idea that the World Engine destruction disrupted the planet's oceans and is what draws Aquaman out.

I also think it would be great if they tied the WE into disrupting the "balance" between our physical realm and the magical/mystical world. which draws Wonder Woman out.

At least when you know where something would break you can design the rest around it. That's why I believe WW will be a Faora kind of character. Making her look awesome with all the CGI and Snyder superb ability is acting scenes won't be hard. Then you give a line or two here and there and pow, done.

The only casting I kinda had to tilt my head at was Gal and it was just "Hmm, maybe she'll gain some weight." But at this point I'm fully on board.
Admittedly I'm easily satisfied when it comes to movies, but unless someone has a very strict idea of what WW should look like(and there have been varying looks), I don't understand how someone can be SO bothered by the choice this early.

That being said, even if she's still pretty slender, I kinda like how we've got these huge male heroes and this very feminine female with super strength. It'll be a nice look on screen and surprise to the other characters when they see what she can do.

I generally imagine Wondy talking in an exaggerated 'heroic' way, similar to Supes, and coupled with a possible foreign accent, I think Gadot could be right for the role.

It might be limiting if they want Wondy to have more dramatic scenes (such as Clark's reaction to Jonathan's death) but who knows if the script calls for that, and I think Snyder generally manages to get good performances out of everyone, no matter their acting experience. The solo movie is where her lack of experience might be more of a problem.

I think Gal Gadot is visually a way better fit than Blunt.

well by then she would have been in three movies as the character...but we don't know what she has in the tank

As much as I like Blunt,

Gadot's smile >>>>>>>> anyone else.

Blunt could make for a badass Hawkgirl though.

Something as shallow as this was probably the reason she was cast. Or at least the simpler to think about.

Going back to the Momoa news...

It is interesting that two bits of non-confirmed news came out (the WB slate and Momoa Aquaman)...and it's funny how one is completely dismissed by the rumor sites and one is completely believed.

That's more complicated to picture, but there is chance.

eh most people probably killed it at the audition, but when come to bat, they choked. Bad casting happens all the time.

Because how she doesn't have a Wonder Woman body and her lack of acting work which make an asessment of her skills as an actress almsot impossible.

Some of us assume it (like myself) which isn't any more different from you assuming she will do a great job.

I'm fairly certain that even if she does well, a lot of her harsher critics aren't going to change their opinions because it'd mean they were wrong.
Same for Eisenberg and Affleck.
Not all of them but that's how people are.
