The whole episode was "about time". But a dramatic improvement compared to last week. Seems like everyone finally got their collective heads out of their asses.

Erm so why exactly did Talbot absorb Creel? Has he adapted his powers, and if so for what purpose? Seems like a waste of a character.

Ah well maybe we'll get to see Stonewall (Creels son) at some point.

Not a single mention, thankfully. Trying to shoe horn movie reference's really effects the story telling.

This ep worked so much better without them.

And just out of curiosity, what's taking you so long to watch the film? A friend of mine has only just seen it himself, and his excuse was he hates busy cinemas.

He watched it on Imax with like 4 other people. Damn near empty.

I just haven't got the patience or discipline to wait that long. Saw it twice in the space of the 24 hours it was released.

I think he absorbed Creel because he turned into gravitonium, so it gave Talbot that much more.

I was a little confused by Mack though. Not that he realized they might have to kill Talbot in order to stop him, (which is a little weird that suddenly a "terminal" solution is a thing they talk about as much as they are now, right?), but when he told Yo Yo that if it came to that Talbot was "his". I couldn't tell if it was Mack being slightly condescending (again), saying it like he had a more personal reason to want Talbot dead, saying it because he's acknowledging that sometimes the hard choice has to be made and he doesn't want Yo Yo to bear that responsibility twice and if he takes out Talbot they'll be back on even footing? The line itself was off, that he even said it. So it's got to be more than the typical tough guy, "he's mine!" declaration.

To be honest, they're damned if they do and damned if they don't. If they didn't mention the movies, people would complain that there was no "crossover" even if it was just acknowledging something weird is happening. But doing it this way makes it seem weird how not interested the rest are that something major is going down.

Well to be fair, from the POV form the average guy in the MCU, they wouldn't really know whats going on. Other than the brief attack in New York, the other event's took place in Space, and Wakanda.

If you lived in LA you really wouldn't be privy to anything until it's too late. You might catch a news headline but no one else in the MCU is going to be directly effected till snapture.

There was slight reference and mention to IW. The news on the TV in two scenes. Talbot also mentions
Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
something along the lines of how he was going to help get rid of the invaders.

They weren't really spoilery, but in reference to Infinity War none the less.

Or to cross threads and where were the Defenders when New York was happening, we'll without the mobility of Spider-Man and Iron-Man they were a couple of blocks away screened from the battle by some buildings. Sure in the real world one country might not have more than one news worthy mass shootings at the same time, but worldwide that is only because the actions in the third world are ignored unless we have high quality pictures and nothing else is happening from an ex porn star saying something different about her prostitution days with the President to an accidental weapons discharge near a school.

But the we, as a fan base, expect the Avengers, the Defenders and S.H.I.E.L.D have perfect timely knowledge of the biggest problem at any given moment along with the knowledge of any other enhanced person going to deal with it.

True, but they aren't the average guy. Weird things on the TV are kind of their forte. So now it feels like that scene in IM3 but it's SHIELD and Talbot fighting over the giant rabbit while the audience is pointing at the TV asking if maybe everyone should be worried about the missiles about to destroy them all.

I mean, I get that they're busy, but it'd probably play better if someone actually acknowledged that they used their spy skills to find out from someone just what the hell is going on and then Phil or someone says, "the Avengers are just going to have to handle it on their own. We have our mission..." or something. Rather then, "Oh hey, this is a weird thing on the TV..." and then getting back to whatever.

To be fair, they are trying to prevent the Earth from literally cracking apart. I can see why they're more focused on this.

So Talbot's son is the young Ray Palmer? I thought he'd have a little Dominator hidden away somewhere. Maybe Talbot can use his gravity to lift his bicycle in the air.

Glad that Daisy wasn't trapped in that coma for ages. I thought we'd get some prisoner situation like at the beginning of the season which was really tedious.

That's a shame Creel was killed off. Maybe it won't matter though if this is the last season.

Is next week the finale?

Absolutely the S.H.I.E.L.D mission is more critical to earth than what the Avengers and Guardians are doing for the galaxy

Ah yes, because the SHIELD people know what Thanos is up to and how important it is. Oh wait, they don't? Then I guess the reason they're not involved makes sense then

What the SHIELD people know and what the audience know are 2 different things. You cannot hold the SHIELD people accountable for something they don't know.

This article says that if they try to kill Graviton with the Odium that will actually likely cause the destruction of the earth:

When did they use it before and what happened?

They seem to distinguish between trying to save Coulson and actually saving him.

It seems that trying to save him by getting the Centipede serum may be the thing that leads in the first place to then trying to give it to Graviton instead.

Of course, they're somewhat damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Isn't Talbot already trying to mine the earth for more gravitonium? That could be what cracks the planet apart.

If they knew what was going on in Infinity War

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:

then the way to deal with this would be to save Coulson and then let Talbot blink out of existence. There's a 50-50 chance of him doing so.

But maybe Coulson would disintegrate too.

What if Yo-Yo was conditioned to say to let Coulson die in order to ensure they dose Talbot and thus creating tons of gravitonium when he goes into overload, cracks the earth and then explodes into a big mass of gravitonium.

Perhaps not specifically, but there were multiple times where events on the TV were mentioned.
