dammit! thats a bit of a delay...most stations might replay it late tonight.
but yes Blaze does have a shotgun and supposedly GR will use a demonic shotgun at least once (at least i hope its only once) in the film....now the question is was he in the GR costume and did the gun look something like the bike? or was he in just normal human leathers and the gun was your typical looking shotgun.

Just let you all know that GR was on ET ( June 17 3.15pm Melb Aust).
The segment went for approx 1 min. Eva spoke a few words,nothing we haven't heard before. Cage spoke a little, he was dressed as Blaze in black leather, chains around torso and a normal looking shotgun strapped to his back. Also got to see his flaming skull tat. The scene was filmed in a dusty western sound stage. Looked like he was in a fight scene.Oh yeah i did manage to tape it on VHS.

I was really dissapointed, it looks kind of Bad, and Cage said something like Ghost Rider has used chains since the beginning. That and he pointed at his "Ghost Ride"r Tattoo, which to me just looked like something out of an old Flash Tattoo Skull with Fire design, it wasn't specificly any Marvel Ghost Rider depiction.

Im just concerned. I used to collect the book when the 2nd volume came out in the early 90's, and stopped reading about when the Midnight Sons thing started to get old. I used to really be into the Punisher, then got more in Ghost Rider when it relaunched. I liked the classic Johnny Blaze and Danny Ketch versions, Im not sure what Cage is doing, but Im concerned, and want to think Ghost Rider is more up this directors talents than Daredevil was.

I missed it, but I wouldn't expect much this early.

Makes me wonder if GR has a shotgun that matches the Hellbike, though....

i just watched it...it was a bit weird.
the set look cool....Cage was wearing the 90s GR jacket....had very small studs on the shoulders, a chain that was wrapped around twice around his chest w/ a ordinary shotgun on his back.
also cage didnt have anything on his head like the stunt man did (bright yellow mask w/ leds) ...no make up. looked like he was in character gritting his teeth and punching someone off screen. he was also shown holding what looked like a scroll which i assume is the document that Blackheart wants in the film.
so the shotgun doesnt look demonized...and Cage was just wearing the outfit. very confusing....dont know if it was just a run through or they just put that on for ET's sake. that way they dont have to show what the real shotgun looks like.
he had the gun for what i assume is the last scene in the movie...so im hoping thats the only place where it shows up.
also Cage said he had a hard time following the stories from the comics but the character looked facinating. hope thats not a translation for "Actually i never bothered to read the book....but the character looked cool." hmmmm

well it's true, anyone trying to follow some of the comics would be confused, especially if they don't know Johnny and Danny are two seperate characters. The shotgun was a real gun, you missed the part it says he's a bad*** biker? I had my CC(closed caption) on and it sounds like Johnny goes around with a shotgun

I saw Nic Cage's stunt-double wearing the same gear, at the AXA Plaza set one evening, and I thought that was cool. Seeing Nic dressed as Ghost Rider though, whew!
I'm rest assured now that it's going to look fantastic.

do you remember if the spikes on the stunt double's shoulders were as short as Cage's in those pics? i just find it interesting that Cage is wearing the outfit w/ a normal shotgun (which has been said its supposed to look like the bike) and the spikes look more like small studs. from earlier pics it looked like the spikes looked much larger than the ones Cage has.
i f i have to guess maybe GR is forced to change back to Blaze.....something weird happens that makes Blaze wear GR's outfit only its not "demonized" (shorter spikes, normal shotgun). maybe this is a trick on Blaze's/GR's part in order to get close to Blackheart. once that happens he changes back to GR and goes in for the kill.

BIGGUN, granted, i was about 20 feet away from the stuntmen at the time, but i do remember seeing spikes on his shoulders (and up to his neck).
From the images here of Nic, the spikes appear shorter then when i saw them.
Take this into account though; MSJ mentioned that GR's outfit burst into flames at the end of the film. So maybe your right in your assestment of the images (with GR having to revert back to Johnny, and therefore de-demonising his outfit).
I've a question for you though; in the image of Nic and Eva, who is the guy with his back to us?
I'm guessing it's either MSJ, or Wes.

as for the shotgun... maybe it becomes demonized whenever GR holds it, but if Johnny's got possession, then things revert back to their human form (ala the hellcycle turning back into the stunt-cycle)?
