How can he play Iron Man if he's already Thig-Guy?

Cool Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man

I'm sure the geek patrol will bash me for this but I kind of forgot about this guy but he could be a good actor for the role. He's surely capable of playing someone with heart issues and portraying someone at odds with his father. I'm glad to see him back at work w/Val Kilmer looking young again, and Shane Black back to what he does best. I wouldn't mind John Cusack either.

Robert Downey Jr. would not be a good option. Sure he's a good actor, but he has a substance abuse problem which could cause issues for the production if something happens. It probably costs a lot to insure him as an actor due to his own past misgivings, and since the production of an Iron Man film would likely be expensive I don't see them doing this. Besides, I don't see him as Iron Man. Nothing about him makes me believe that he would be a good Tony Stark. Yes, he's a good actor, but so's Liam Neeson, and I wouldnt want to see him as Tony Stark either.

Keep trying though. You'll come up with some good ideas. I like John Cusak for a superhero role, but not as Iron Man.

Keep up the efforts though.

That was a really weird trailer. It didn't have any of the normal trailer voice over people.

He could create an Iron Man suit that sniffs coke and stays up all night scrubbing the kitchen floor with a tooth brush. Just kidding, he wouldn't be too bad, but I would take John Cusack over him.

Hulk

John Cusack was always my choise for Bruce Banner.
Bana is an amazing actor, but, IMO, he was a much better Hector than Bruce Banner.
Sure, he did good too, but, IMO, Cusack would have been a better Banner.

Blades_Shades, why do you feel that so often your casting ideas warrent the creation of a new thread when plenty of others have and continue to add theirs to the preexisting ones ?

Despite screwing up Batman, George Clooney wouldn't be a bad Stark. And if we go outside the box, how about Dennis Haysbert?

What about James Denton as Tony Stark.

Even he can bring his "Desperate HouseWive" Teri Hatcher for Iron Man Movie.

Eh. Still lovin the Tom Cruise for Iron Man idea. Just imagine him as Ethan Hunt(Mission Impossible 1 not 2) with a mustache or goatee. Basicly an American James Bond with armor, like Iron Man was always meant to be to begin with.

where do you get james bond? Iron Man was never ment to be like james bond he was created by stan lee to show that he could make a guy they was helping the govenment in the vitman(sp its late) war and people would still like him. hes more like batman then james bond the only thing he has in common with bond that they sleep with a lot of women.
