How will the term "Phoenix" come about in X3?

I'm pretty sure she'll be referred to as Phoenix. The way Simon answers questions he constantly references her as Phoenix and all the media outlets have been referring to her that way as well.

I think it'll be Magneto that christians her that. And what better way to present her to the masses as some sort of Christ figure, a mutant that died and rose again, that to name her after the mythical bird that does just that.

i surely would love if they treated her like Jesus nº2, you know, everybody praising her and all, and then she just fu*k them all up
i would enjoy if they treated her ressurection not as something common and usual, but as a major fact in the whole world, kinda impossible i know...

I agree. Even if she didn't really "die" I think Magneto would capitalize on the perception that she did. So that's my pet theory on how Magneto uses Jean (other than the whole crazy powerful ****** batting for my team thing).

Actually most of the promo material refers to her as Jean Grey, thats who she's billed as on the cast too. I'm hoping for some reference to the Phoenix, but it wont be too overt, I'm pretty sure of that.

I meant more specifically Magneto's new followers.They'd have to know she was dead to truly buy into the Christ-like influence you suggested.
