What do the lyrics mean? I've been trying to bend my mind around them but I haven't had any luck.

In the 60s, Owsley orange SUNSHINE acid was one of the most popular/widely used forms of LSD. LSD is a hallucinogen which brings on revelations, often of a spiritual nature. The "future is coming on" could refer to the realization of something while under the influence of LSD. Also, the happy/glad thing could reflect the rapid switching of emotions which happens during an acid trip.
And the reason the song is called Clint Eastwood is because of the strange harmonica-like instrument used in the background. The Same instrument was used in Eastwood's movie A Fistful of Dollars. That is all... |

based on the lyrics it looks like someone has been unhappy with their past but finally see a glimmer of hope in the future so although they aren't yet at that good place, they see that getting there is only a matter of time so they are biting their tongue and getting on with things until their time comes...
sounds like a song i would write if i was leaving an old band to form a virtual one to be honest.
