I'm curious about this.

From SHH's Set Visit Interview with production designer Ed Verreaux

There was going to be a whole sequence that took place in his office. It was going to be a set because there was going to be flying going on and all kinds of effects and things. And so I designed an X on the floor. It was going to be inlaid."

I was thinking that Phoenix and Xavier would have some kind of mind battle there and then she'd fly off. Or Perhaps the x-kids been taught to use their powers?

Possibly the battle between Xavier and Phoenix was originally planned to take place in Xavier's office, but the location was changed to Jean's home (mirroring the opening scene)

i think that maybe Jean would kill Xavier right at the mansion, but then they decided to make her go back to her old house

that must be why she simply break the doors of the lab and is never seen at the mansion, maybe in the original scene she would walk to Xavier's office.

One thing x3 doesnt need is more action thats for sure.

If they made this into the Jeans house sequence then its fitting and drew a parallell to the intro scene, this time with disastrous consequences so well done imo.

Actually now that I think about it.......

Why would Jean go back to her childhood home to wait for Xavier to come to her, when she was in the mansion, and she could have just confronted him there.........

Jean didnt seek Xavier out.

She went home because it was a familiar place her mind is connected to is what i gathered, this details a blur tho.

I don't think Jean was planing on killing Xavier. She lost controle when he confronted her in her childhood home. The Phoenix took over and Xavier wouldn't "get out of [her] head."

Jean went to that place beause she had nowhere else to go, she was lost, alone and confused. Her interior struggle with her powers and ressurection made her lose much of her focus. She returned to her home simply because she had nowhere else to go... she needed space and time to work things out, I believe.

It was not an intention of Jean's to hurt Xavier... it was an intention of the Phoenix. When he came to the house with Magneto, I don't think she had any intention of hurting him there as well, until the Phoenix began to come through and acknowledge him putting the psychic blocks in her head. On top of all that confusion, she just lost it and went full psycho.

The lines "I knew you'd come", "Of course", kind of imply pre-known knowledge of a confrontation to me.

I mean, these are 2 psychics afterall. You mean to tell me between 2 all powerful psychics, neither of them new they were gonna face off against each other?

It could also be just a hunch. Hed go looking for her when he found out she was missing, and she sensed him coming, but she wasnt seeking xavier out particularly.

Thanks for the reminder of the dialogue about that. Didnt recall.
