This is the first chunk of my Spidey 3 script, which obviously follows my first two..
The Amazing Spider-Man 3 FADE IN: 1 EXT. GRAND BALLROOM, NEW YORK - DUSK 1 A midnight dark Mercedes limousine pulls to a slow halt in front of the glittering ballroom on New York's upper eastside. A door in the middle of the car opens and out of it expands- A MAN. Over seven feet tall, hair as silken black as a slick of oil. He looks like he military presses tanks while kicking over little old ladies on walkers for a laugh. He is MAN-MOUNTAIN MARKO. A one-manned security force. He dutifully opens the rear passenger door. From that door emerges Marko's polar opposite. A small, aged figure with glistening silver hair. It's our old friend, mob-boss THE SILVERMANE. Marko takes Silvermane's left hand in his and extends his gigantic right arm around Silvermane's shoulder, becoming his support system. Slowly they walk toward the ballroom. At the entrance is a throng of Silvermane's waiting gunsels. 2 INT. GRAND BALLROOM - CONTINUOUS 2 The ballroom doors open wide and Silvermane and his men enter. Silvermane grimaces at the massive effort required of him to cross the extended hall. But a tough old lizard, he continues forth. That is, until he's greeted by a peculiar bit of technology- A SMALL, LOW SPEED HOVERING DEVICE. Silvermane climbs aboard and grasps hold of a set of handle-bars. This putters him forward, though still under the watchful guidance of Marko. 3 INT. MAIN BALLROOM AREA - CONTINUOUS 3 The throng enters the main area, which is filled with guests. A closer examination of the faces reveals, that despite their expensive clothing and equally expensive lady-escorts, the men who break into cheers at Silvermane's entrance are the most evil and dangerous denizens the underworld conglomerate called "The Maggia" has to offer. In the center of the expansive room hangs a monstrous banner which reads simply: "Welcome Home Silvermane". It's a banquet fit for royalty. Gourmet food and drink, the expense of which could feed a 3rd world village for a month. But such thoughts could never occur to this crowd. Silvermane dismounts from his hover device and takes a seat at the center of the large dining table occupying the far end of the banquet hall. The standing ovation continues. Slowly the near-fossilized crime boss rises from his chair giving a Caesar-esque wave of greeting to his people. He clears his throat. SILVERMANE -I want to say how deeply it touches me to see so many friendly faces across this hall.. Wealth does not make a man great.. Power does not make a man great. But only- only the loyalty of his friends can make a man great. For within loyalty, within friendship there is strength. And strength generates power. And power generates bountiful wealth. Without you, my friends, I am nothing. A thunderous voice assaults Silvermane from the entry way. VOICE Unfortunate words.. All eyes turn to the door. Standing there, surrounded by his own entourage of unsavory gunmen is WILSON FISK, referred to by most as THE KINGPIN. Just under seven feet, his girth makes the difference. He's built like a well-fed Sumo, with arms that could bear hug, well, a bear.. SILVERMANE Well, well, Mr. Fisk. This ancient heart beats faster at the sight of you. KINGPIN How could I not extend a warm greeting to my old mentor.. Having just tasted new freedom, after being delivered into the unfriendly arms of the law by Spider-Man three years ago? But as you've been out of the mainstream for so long, I have to say that business associates call me the Kingpin. SILVERMANE A quaint title my friend.. But not one that I can get my head around considering the you were but one of my many enforcers. I'm more comfortable with Wilson. Or as my new protégé' Marko might refer to you- "Wee Willie". With that The Man-Mountain rises from his chair, ready to attack on Silvermane's signal. Kingpin is visibly angered. KINGPIN Well, I think we'll just have to cut him down to size.. Kingpin's men draw their weapons and open fire. Silvermane's men return fire as Marko protects Silvermane with his enormous frame. 4 EXT. GRAND BALLROOM - CONTINUOUS 4 A DARK FIGURE descends slowly- HEAD FIRST to peer into one of the many-storied high windows at the melee' within. The explosion of gunfire REFLECTS within silver lenses. SPIDER-MAN strings his camera from an above ledge to begin automatically shooting pictures. SPIDER-MAN I knew following Silvermane's limo would lead to something juicy, what with all the gang warfare that's been breaking out lately.. And now for my grand entrance.. 5 INT. MAIN BALLROOM AREA - CONTINUOUS 5 THE WINDOW EXPLODES. GLASS RAINS DOWN UPON THE WARRING HOODLUMS AND GIVES THEM PAUSE. They all watch as the inhumanly agile form of Spider-Man loops into the hall on his webline. SPIDER-MAN I hope you gentlemen are aware that your security deposit is forfeit- KINGPIN Insect! You shouldn't have interfered! Spider-Man swings low and begins tossing the thugs about like so many leaves. Spidey hogties them with webbing as he moves along. SPIDER-MAN I figured my invitation just got lost in the mail.. Nobody's been a better buddy to you boys than me! Who else keeps you on the straight and narrow? Listens to your problems? Beats you to a pulp? As the crooks scatter like cockroaches to avoid Spider-man's assault, they forget their desire to kill each other. SPIDER-MAN (continuing) And to be honest Fisk, I was worried you'd eat your way through this entire banquet and wind up with a tummy-ache! Spider-Man swings in landing just feet away from Kingpin. SPIDER-MAN (continuing) -And now it's time to turn the Kingpin into a tenpin.. KINGPIN More like it's time I made this a bug-free zone.. Kingpin lifts his diamond-tipped cane. He aims it at Spider-Man and a BOLT OF ENERGY PLASMA IS RELEASED. Spidey somersaults to dodge it. SPIDER-MAN Whoa! I see Weight Watchers turning their back on you has left you a little grumpy! Spider-Man continues to dodge the BLASTS as he closes in on Kingpin. SPIDER-MAN (continuing) Don't worry Fisk- I understand the prison system has a great fitness program- They'll have you in swim- suit shape and turning the boys' heads in ten to fifteen years! With that, Kingpin lowers his cane and crouches like a linebacker. KINGPIN Still think this is fat, you little web-dribbling punk? This is super-dense, spider crushing muscle! Come- take your best shot- Kingpin bends his arms back creating a generous opening for Spider-Man. Spidey shrugs. SPIDER-MAN Never let it be said that Spidey doesn't appreciate a freebie- Spider-man ***** his right arm. SPIDER-MAN (continuing) Now you're going to feel a slight pinch- Spider-Man slams a hard punch into Kingpin's mid- section. But with the combination of Kingpin’s bracing himself and Spider-Man's penchant for not hitting anything human with all his power, Fisk is unmoved. Nonetheless, Spidey is impressed. SPIDER-MAN (continuing) Heh.. Well, all that's got to keep you warm in the winter months.. But it won't save you from this- Spider-Man lunges again. Kingpin braces himself for a harder punch. But Spidey doesn't punch him. Instead, Spider-Man grasps Kingpin at the mid-section. Spidey then arches his back and lifts Kingpin, suplexing Kingpin over his head. Kingpin lands with a QUAKE THAT SHATTERS THE CHAMPAGNE GLASSES. Spider-Man stands over the fallen Fisk. SPIDER-MAN (continuing) Muscle huh? Well that's a heart healthy point for you- and a point for me, since muscle is heavier than fat- It's got to wear you out picking all of that up every time I knock you down.. And Somehow I don't see you out-maneuvering me.. Kingpin rolls his massive form over and angrily begins to rise. SPIDER-MAN (continuing) But don't ask me to stop with the fat jokes, apple cheeks.. I think it brings us closer.. Kingpin is on his feet and about to charge. Spidey is ready to intercept him- when Spider- Man is tackled from behind- And finds himself in the grips of Man-Mountain Marko. MARKO -I owe ya for busting my boss creep- Spider-Man slips free and monkey tosses Marko. Spidey flips to his feet. SPIDER-MAN So.. Mongo wants to play too? Give me a second to spin a web ball big bones- and you can fetch it- At that moment POLICE burst through the doors. Tossing smoke bombs and attacking anyone in sight, the pandemonium is multiplied tenfold. Kingpin uses the cover of smoke to slip away. Marko races to Silvermane's side. Silvermane coughs, easily overcome by the smoke. Unable to speak he points toward a panel on the wall. Marko hits it and a secret door opens. MARKO Good thing we own this place.. Marko quickly lifts Silvermane and disappears with him into the wall. Spider-Man climbs to the ceiling of the hall, trying to get a vantage point. But between the smoke and scattering crooks, Spidey sees no sign of either Kingpin or Silvermane. SPIDER-MAN (V.O.) Looks like the bosses have disappeared.. Since the fight's been taken out of them- I'll leave the foot soldiers for the cops.. Spider-Man swings back to the outside of the building and fetches his camera. SPIDER-MAN (V.O.) (continuing) I've got enough pics for JJJ and my daily dose of adrenaline. 6 EXT. MANHATTAN SKYLINE - EVENING 6 Spider-Man swings his way across the skyline displaying his impossible grace and agility. SPIDER-MAN (V.O.) -It's all I can do to deal with the loneliness since Gwen's been gone.. 7 INT. OXFORD UNIVERSITY, ENGLAND - DAY 7 GWEN STACY carries a stack of ancient, dusty hard-cover books, maneuvering within an equally ancient and dusty library. She makes a beeline toward the desk of DR. MILES WARREN, depositing the pile next to him. Only the THUMP of books landing shifts Warren's focus from the page he's currently perusing. WARREN -thank you so much Gwen.. GWEN No problem Dr. Warren.. I guess if that's it, I'll be clocking out for the day.. WARREN -Big plans for the evening? GWEN -Uh.. Yeah.. If you consider an evening of Canasta with my Aunt and Uncle big plans.. WARREN -Don't you have anyone closer to your age to run with? GWEN Well, in a bit of irony, my cousins Jill and Paul are abroad this month. They couldn't change their plans by the time I'd confirmed I was coming over here. But it's okay.. Since my father's death.. Quiet is what I need. But you can understand that.. WARREN Yes.. My wife's death a year ago shook me to my foundations.. It was a Godsend, this project.. GWEN And working with you provides me with the needed distraction.. Not to mention college credits.. WARREN ..Have you spoken with Peter? GWEN We've e-mailed each other a few times.. And he called me last week.. WARREN The two of you seemed so happy.. GWEN We were, but.. Peter and I are a whole new level of complexity.. We're like the Rubik's cube of relationships.. WARREN Do you think you can get all the sides to line-up? GWEN (Pause) I just don't know, Doctor.. I never solved a Rubik's cube.. Warren finds himself staring deeply into her eyes. He snaps backward to cover his sudden discomfort.

WARREN
Uh.. Well. I'd better let you get to your Canasta game. I've got lots of research to do for my transferring of information to Dr. Connors tomorrow.. 8 EXT. EMPIRE STATE UNIVERSITY - AFTERNOON 8 DR. CURT CONNORS climbs out of his modest car, a briefcase and a stack of documents rolled into a tube all under the jurisdiction of his left arm, as his right arm has long ago been amputated. His true right arm, his wife MARTHA chases after him, with another group of documents. Together the two hurry into the science department entrance. 9 INT. EMPIRE STATE UNIVERSITY SCIENCE DEPARTMENT - 9 CONTINUOUS As the Connorses near the building they are met by a throng of reporters that swarm around them. REPORTER 1 Dr. Connors- is it true that the tablet your team has unearthed pre- dates the birth of Christ? REPORTER 2 Are the rumors true that it contains cures for all disease? Connors huffs as he addresses them. At the same time, Martha unlocks the door to Connors' office. CONNORS Please- Everyone- We've scheduled the press conference for 6pm. all of your questions will be answered then.. Connors and his wife then rush into his office. 10 INT. DAILY BUGLE OFFICES - AFTERNOON 10 PETER PARKER walks into the office which is its usual beehive of activity. Peter pauses at the desk of BETTY BRANT, personal assistant to the Bugle's publisher. PETER How's it going Betty? BETTY I could complain, Pete, but who's going to listen? PETER I can tell you from experience.. NO ONE. BETTY Still in the dumps about Gwen? PETER I was born in the dumps and will always be in the dumps, Ms. Brant. Gwen just made 'em a little less dumpy.. BETTY ..You know Pete.. Cosmo says you should be a cheerful listener for the woman you love.. Peter huffs at the advice. He decides to change the subject. PETER -How's our "cheerful" employer doing today? BETTY Still stinging over that Federal investigation into his involvement with the Sinister Six thing.. So in other words, he's more "cheerful" than ever- A BLAST OF SOUND explodes from Betty's intercom. VOICE (loud and boisterous) MISS BRANT! IS PARKER HERE? Peter rolls his eyes and darts for the office behind Betty's desk. 11 INT. OFFICE OF J.JONAH JAMESON - CONTINUOUS 11 Peter steps quickly into the office. J. JONAH JAMESON doesn't notice, as he's still yelling into the intercom. JONAH Yeah? Well tell him to get his pill-popping, pot-smoking generation-XYZ butt in my office!! At the close of that request, Jonah glances up to see Peter walking toward him. Jonah clicks back on the intercom. JONAH (continuing; into intercom) -Never mind Miss Brant! Jonah looks up at Peter, his face a scowl, his ever-present cigar releasing a cloud of noxious fumes, most of which are generated by the bile in Jonah's gut. JONAH (continuing) Parker are you such a slacker that you're too lazy to even make noise when you enter a room? Peter simply has no response for that. ROBBIE ROBERTSON, Chief Editor of The Daily Bugle turns to Peter with a warm smile. ROBBIE -Good to see you Pete- Even better if you've got some news pics.. PETER Pics I've got Robbie- Peter opens his portfolio and hands Robbie a stack of photos from Spider-Man's recent tackling of the Kingpin and Silvermane's crews. ROBBIE Great stuff Pete.. Good to see you back on the ball since Gwen left.. You know my wife says about relationships? That a woman should be looked at as a partner, not a prize- Peter exhales at the idea of another barrage of advice. PETER ..Uh.. Thanks.. But- Jonah leans forward like a striking python, grabbing at the pile of photos. JONAH Let me see those, Robbie- Jonah recoils back into his chair flipping through the pictures. JONAH (continuing) Hah! Well- You've got that bug- eyed hood, Spider-Man trying to muscle the mob bosses for a chunk of the city's rackets and I'M the one under investigation! PETER (Grimacing) -Gotta hand it to you JJJ- nobody can see the truth like you.. And I mean NOBODY. JONAH It's a gift.. Robbie, new headline- "Spider-Man Crashes Silvermane Party For A Piece Of The Cake!" Peter frowns at the sound of this, but is in no way surprised. PETER (Irked) Brilliant.. As Peter's eyes roll away from Jonah, he notices Jonah's son, JOHN JAMESON has been seated in front of Jonah's desk, but has remained silent thus far and is sunken into the chair. Peter leans toward him pleasantly. PETER (continuing) Captain Jameson? I didn't see you there. John turns toward Peter. John makes a smile, but Peter can see that something is bothering him. As a motor response, John rises and extends a hand to Peter. JOHN -Good to see you Peter.. Jonah notices Peter, noticing John's demeanor and becomes defensive. JONAH John's just a little worn out after his last shuttle mission. Let that be a lesson to you Parker- Start making an effort in life, and maybe you'll amount to something too- although I doubt it.. PETER Hookay.. And with that bit of encouragement.. I'd like to get my check and leave.. ROBBIE -You're covering the Connors press conference for us, right? PETER Yeah.. Since Dr. Connors is a friend, he's giving me exclusive access to shoot photos of the tablet.. JONAH -Just so you know- if you drop the thing- the Bugle claims no responsibility for your clumsiness! Now get out of here! 12 EXT. DAILY BUGLE - AFTERNOON 12 Spider-Man swings from the rooftop of the Bugle building over the streets of New York. 13 EXT. NEW YORK'S WESTSIDE - AFTERNOON 13 As Spider-Man crosses over a city block section in the West 30's he sees an area BLOCKADED BY POLICE. The familiar yellow tape and presence of a single, slow-moving EMS truck and crew reveal it to be a crime scene. Spider-Man releases his webline midswing and lands on the side of a nearby building. Taking a closer look at the scene, he sees that the victim being covered with a medical examiner's sheet is a beautiful young woman. There's blood all over the scene. SPIDER-MAN (V.O.) ..The "Westside Slasher" again.. I'd love to get a piece of that creep.. He's been at work for six weeks, but no one's ever gotten a glimpse of him.. The cops have nothing to go on.. They're just waiting for the next discovery of a victim.. 14 EXT. EMPIRE STATE UNIVERSITY ROOFTOP - AFTERNOON 14 Spider-Man lands atop the roof. Opening an airshaft, he climbs inside. 15 INT. ESU AIRSHAFT - CONTINUING 15 Spider-Man rips open his web-formed "backpack" and dumps the clothing within into the shaft. Then, diving head first, he performs another amazing display of agility. Utilizing his incredible speed and dexterity, Spidey collects the various items of clothing, sliding into them as he and they fall. By the time he reaches the ground, the now unmasked Peter Parker is fully dressed. He reaches down and picks up his book bag, which he'd earlier placed in a corner of the shaft. He then pops the entry door slightly off it's hinges to slip out, and then places it back so as to not reveal his illegal use of the door. 16 INT. ESU SCIENCE DEPARTMENT - AFTERNOON 16 Peter walks into the department lobby to find the press conference already in progress. Dr. Connors is standing at a podium. Martha, and their son, BILLY are seated behind him, along with the ESU science department staff. CONNORS -Here's what we know. An archeological dig, sponsored by Oscorp has unearthed thus far two pieces of a larger clay tablet. The site is located in the Middle East, at a location which must remain confidential.. Tests on the material suggest that this object is one of the oldest discovered relics of human civilization. We're uncertain of the culture that produced it, but the writings appear to breakdown as mathematical equations.. We had been working for the past six months on deciphering the first piece of the tablet. This new section was discovered just two weeks ago, and has only arrived two days ago. REPORTER 1 Why the delay? CONNORS Oscorp isn't shipping the actual pieces, as they're too delicate and can't risk their being damaged. What's being done is that via a special process the tablet sections are being perfectly replicated for my staff to study.. REPORTER 2 What is there to the rumor that your colleague, Dr. Michael Morbius was removed from the project? CONNORS Dr. Morbius was not removed from the project. He had some personal issues that caused him to have to take a sabbatical. He's welcome to return any time he likes.. And we can use his input.. REPORTER 3 What's your opinion on the belief that this tablet contains cures for all forms of disease? CONNORS At this point that's merely a happy myth.. JUMP CUT: 17 INT. KINGPIN CONFERENCE ROOM - CONTINUOUS 17 The Kingpin holds court before his assembled network of lieutenants. KINGPIN -But it's a myth I think is worthwhile to pursue. Imagine- my empire would corner the pharmaceuticals market.. Hundreds of billions of dollars every year.. Being able to produce drugs that can cure anything.. JUMP CUT: 18 INT. SILVERMANE CONFERENCE ROOM - CONTINUOUS 18 Silvermane likewise addresses his men. SILVERMANE -But money isn't important. the one who possesses the secrets of the tablet will have mastery over life and death. And that value exceeds anything one can hold in their hands.. You all have your assignments.. Execute them now. The army of gangsters dutifully march off. Only Man-Mountain Marko remains. He approaches Silvermane. MARKO You're putting so much into this operation boss.. What if this hunk of stone doesn't turn out to be as powerful as you think? Is it worth the risk? SILVERMANE For me? Of course. What does money mean to me with death as my closest companion? 19 INT. ESU SCIENCE DEPARTMENT - DUSK 19 In Dr. Connors' office, the tablet has been unveiled and Peter is snapping pictures of it. PETER What do you think is the real secret of this tablet is Dr. Connors? CONNORS The equations seem to be translating to bio-chemical compounds and reactions.. We're starting from scratch at this point, having gotten this new section.. PETER What about the previous work you've been doing? CONNORS Michael Morbius had done much of the work on the first piece of the tablet. But just as he'd begun to crack the code, he had a medical relapse. You see Morbius and I began our partnership due to our mutual physical afflictions.. I my amputated arm and he suffered from a rare blood disease. We hoped that by putting our heads together we might hasten finding treatments for ourselves. And honestly, when we'd discovered that this tablet existed we began to hope that our answers were at hand..

PETER
Really? What is this thing? CONNORS Something thus far seen as unbelievable Peter.. You see, there's a story past down through the ages.. That when Adam.. Yes- The Adam.. -The first man on earth- ate from the fruit of the Tree of Life, he was indeed granted all the wisdom that the serpent promised he would have.. But cast out of Eden, he and Eve were now mortal and would eventually die. Although their bodies were so pure and powerful that eventually- still would be hundreds of years.. Adam had acquired a understanding of the workings of everything on Earth. The why and how of every rock, every creature. He knew the function of every cell in the human body. And knowing that this knowledge would die with him he decided to preserve it, by carving it onto a massive clay tablet. It took much of his ages long life to complete this. But finally it was completed. The tribe of his children preserved the tablet as a sacred object for centuries. But then came the floods that Noah fled from. And the tablet was destroyed. The pieces strewn across the territories of the Middle East and lost to time. That is until now. PETER Wow. CONNORS If- and that's if this is true, it could explain the answer to everything- why we get sick, how to combat it.. How certain individuals like Spider-Man develop super human abilities.. Why others are born with mutant powers. How to control these anomalies.. PETER Again. Wow. CONNORS So you can see how the dreams of so many are tied into the mystery of this tablet.. And why it's so important that we crack the code. It might not turn out to be what we hope.. But we have to know. PETER But then, with the tablet in sections, the missing pieces could alter everything you think you've learned from the previous sections.. CONNORS I know. I think that's why Morbius hid his notes after he disappeared.. PETER Disappeared? CONNORS Yes. The truth is, we've lost all contact with him. Even his wife Martine hasn't a clue of how to find him. So as I'd said, we're starting from scratch.. PETER I don't envy you.. But I'm grateful for the chance to snap these pics.. CONNORS My pleasure Peter.. Would you like to join us for dinner? I mean.. Since Gwen's been gone, you've been spending alot of time alone.. Peter is slightly embarrassed by Connors' display of charity. PETER ..Uh.. MARTHA Do you know the secret to a strong relationship, Peter? Peter's eyes roll at yet more unsolicited advice. PETER -Silence? -I hope.. MARTHA No.. Sharing.. BILLY (With childhood glee) -Punch her in the arm! PETER (Frowns) -Well about dinner- But before Peter can continue THE BUILDING BEGINS TO QUAKE. Peter and the Connorses look at each other confused and concerned. PETER (continuing) -termites? THE FAR WALL CRUMBLES and through the wreckage creeps another type of arachnid; the criminal known as THE SCORPION. 6 FOOT 4, COCOONED IN GREEN ARMOR, ATTACHED TO HIS BACK A 7 FOOT MECHANICAL TAIL COILS. CONNORS -The Scorpion! SCORPION -Thanks for seeing me without an appointment Doc! The huge frame thumps forward as the Connorses step backward fearfully. Suddenly Spider-Man springs through the hole created by Scorpion, landing on Scorpion's shoulders. SPIDER-MAN You're a day late Scorp- Adopt a dumb crook was yesterday.. Spider-Man slugs Scorpion. His head snaps back and then forward, registering little pain. SPIDER-MAN (continuing) -But I'm sure the cops can provide you with a comfy cell and all the love you're hoping for- The Scorpion's tail swipes Spider-Man from behind, sending him careening into the wall. SCORPION -I don't have time to wrestle wit' you now, punk.. He continues forward. SCORPION (continuing) -I just came to see the doc about a prescription for a "tablet".. Spider-Man fires a webline at the Scorpion, but without turning, his tail slashes the webline in midflight. SPIDER-MAN You can put an eye out with that thing.. SCORPION -I plan to.. Scorpion slams his tail into the wall next to him. Spidey sees that the wall is collapsing right toward Billy Connors. Spidey leaps into the path of the crumbling heap- supporting it with his body. SPIDER-MAN Run for it kid! The frightened child makes a beeline for his mother. Martha scoops Billy into her arms. Spidey then puzzles over what to do about the falling wall- SPIDER-MAN (continuing) Anybody got an umbrella? Then- it breaks in two above him- burying him under tons of debris. Buried, Spider-Man attempts to lift the rubble off of him, but can't get any leverage. The Scorpion's tail swings backward- it's scythe- like blade stopping within inches of Martha Connors' head. SCORPION -That tablet doc? Connors, terrified hands over the case containing the tablet. SCORPION (continuing) -Thanks.. The Scorpion turns, quickly running for the wall that he'd shattered to gain entry. He steps over the pile of debris under which Spider-Man is buried as he leaps through the outer wall. The Scorpion's step causes the debris pile to shift- and the debris tumbles. Spider-Man emerges from beneath the debris coughing. MARTHA Spider-Man! Are you alright? Spider-Man unearths himself from the debris. SPIDER-MAN I'll be spending the next week coughing up about a pound of dust.. But Black Lung notwithstanding, I'll be okay.. CONNORS The Scorpion got away with the tablet- SPIDER-MAN I'm on it, Doc.. Spider-Man leaps through the damaged wall. 20 EXT. EMPIRE STATE UNIVERSITY - CONTINUING 20 Spider-Man lands in the street. The Scorpion is at the center of the street, his attention upward at the descending HELICOPTER. Spidey fires weblines from each hand- the lines merge entwining the Scorpion's legs. He topples to the ground. SCORPION Son of a- Spidey fires a web shot which splats over Scorpion's mouth. SPIDER-MAN -We'll have none of that language.. I'm still of the impressionable age you know- The helicopter pilot stops his descent- Scorpion hooks the landing gear with his tail, and the chopper ascends with him in tow. Spider-Man leaps and grabs hold of the other side of the landing gear. 21 EXT. MANHATTEN SKYLINE - CONTINUING 21 The Scorpion starts to speak but his mouth is still muzzled by the webbing- so only an indistinguishable growl is released. SPIDER-MAN -You'll have to speak up- Angrily the Scorpion rips the webbing from his mouth. THEN LETS OUT A YELL FROM THE PAIN. SPIDER-MAN (continuing) -Oh I meant to warn you about that! Still dangling by his tail from the landing gear, the Scorpion furiously swings himself forward to swing a punch at Spider-Man. Spider- Man hanging by his arm swings himself backward to avoid the punch. Seeing the briefcase containing the tablet in Scorpion's other hand, Spider-Man dives for it and snatches it away. He then fires a webline to the chopper's underbelly to stop his fall. Scorpion snarls. Grabbing the landing gear with his hand, Scorpion slices the webbing still binding his legs with his tail's sharp blade. He then swings his tail again- slicing Spider- Man's lifeline to the chopper. Spider-Man drops- but spins a safety net between two buildings. Scorpion climbs up onto the chopper and gestures to the chopper pilot to fly downward to Spider- Man's landing spot. 22 EXT. BUILDING ROOFTOP - CONTINUOUS 22 As Spider-Man climbs from his net onto the rooftop of the next building, the Scorpion drops from the chopper overhead. The Scorpion hits the ground running, attacking Spider-Man with hand, foot and tail. Spider-Man leaps and flips to dodge the assault. SPIDER-MAN What's a member of the dunce-cap camp like you want with a tablet written in hieroglyphics? You're still struggling with "Green Eggs and Ham"! SCORPION -Cause I'm gettin' lots of greenbacks and gold ya pest! SPIDER-MAN -So who hired you? SCORPION -for me to know and you to die findin' out! Scorpion looks down at the street which is teeming with rush-hour pedestrians and traffic. He then turns to the water tower resting tower the edge of the roof- SCORPION (continuing) -Hold this for me will ya? The Scorpion swipes his tail at the support beams shattering them- and causing the tower to topple towards the street. Spider-Man dives underneath the tower, landing on the side of the building, and catching the many-ton water tank. As Spider-Man struggles to lift the tower back up to the roof, Scorpion grabs the discarded briefcase. Scorpion then signals for the chopper to move in. Straining, Spider-Man looks to see if there's anyway to alert the oblivious crowd below to the plight, but sees nothing. SPIDER-MAN (Yells to the crowd ) -Hey! There's suddenly a strong chance of showers! Put down that hotdog and go find a really big bucket! But of course, no one can hear him. Spider-Man looks around for anything that will help. The chopper is just a dozen feet above the Scorpion. Spider-Man huffs, then glancing over, he sees that the street on the opposite side of the building is closed for construction. Spider-Man musters all of his strength and lifts the water tower, as he scales up the side of the building. Reaching the rooftop, Spider-Man up- overs the tower, and it TUMBLES BURSTING OPEN- THE WATER HITS THE CHOPPER WITH CRIPPLING FORCE CAUSING IT TO FLIP TO ITS SIDE. THE ROTOR BLADES STRIKE THE SIDE OF THE BUILDING AND CRUMPLE. THE CHOPPER DROPS HITTING THE SIDE OF THE BUILDING AND FLIPS AGAIN DROPPING TO THE EMPTY STREET BELOW. Spider-Man leaps after the falling chopper firing a webline. He snags the pilot and pulls him free as the chopper smashes into the street with a SPECTACULAR EXPLOSION. Spider-Man, Resting on the side of the building, lifts his webline so that he and the pilot are face-to-face. SPIDER-MAN (continuing) -I'm going to need to see a license and proof of insurance.. Spider-Man spots the Scorpion rapidly climbing the side of the building towards him. Spider-Man looks up and sees the tablet-briefcase, perched on the edge of the roof. Spider-Man tosses the pilot onto a nearby fire-escape, and webs him in place. The Scorpion climbs past Spider-Man heading for the roof. He reaches for the briefcase- and Spider-Man fires a webline snagging the briefcase, snatching it from the Scorpion's grasp. The Scorpion angrily dives toward Spider-Man. Spider-Man leaps from the building to avoid Scorpion's lunge. Scorpion grasps hold of the building side with his pincer-like grip. Spider- Man fires a webline to stop his fall, but again the Scorpion clips it with a swipe of his tail.

SPIDER-MAN
(continuing; falling) Okay! I get it, you're really fast! Get a new schtick will ya? Spider-Man grabs a lower fire-escape to save himself. SCORPION You want variety? Here's a new one! Scorpion springs from the building with bolt- like speed, slamming into Spider-Man, carrying him along as they torpedo towards the ground. Spider-Man twists himself so that Scorpion will make impact first. He does, but his tail takes the brunt. They both bounce on the ground, battered, but still geared-up for battle. 23 EXT. CONDEMNED STREET - CONTINUING 23 Just then- A CARGO TRUCK SMASHES THROUGH THE STREET BARRICADE. IT'S FOLLOWED BY TWO OTHER SIMILAR VEHICLES. they skid to a halt, surrounding Spider-Man and Scorpion. Quickly, armed mercenaries disembark from the trucks. SPIDER-MAN (To Mercs) -I have to point out that this block is closed to vehicular traffic- They respond with AUTOMATIC GUNFIRE. Spider-Man dodges, turning to the Scorpion- SPIDER-MAN (continuing) -Your friends are terrible party guests- SCORPION -I work alone webhead- But I can take them and you- The Scorpion gets to his feet and lunges at the gunmen- his armor-like hide resisting the pelting of the bullets and knocking them around. Spider-Man tackles those closest to him. As the battle rages, Man-Mountain Marko exits a car parked at the end of the street. He walks into the maelstrom of bullets and flying bodies as though it were a garden party. Reaching the midst of the battle, he spots his quarry. The briefcase containing the tablet, momentarily forgotten by both Spider-man and the Scorpion. Marko takes possession of it. Only then, does Spider-Man spot what's happening. Spider-Man clocks the last of the gunmen he'd been fighting and turns to Marko. SPIDER-MAN Hey Marky-Mark- You don't walk away with that briefcase- MARKO Sorry bug-boy.. I got no time to play with yuse.. So I brought some pesticide.. Marko lifts a hand switch from inside his jacket and presses it. AND THE TRUCKS ALL EXPLODE. THE GUNMEN ARE STREWN ABOUT THE STREET. Marko regards their crippled, dying and dead bodies. MARKO (continuing) Sorry about that fellas, but any of you that are still alive can expect a little extra in your pay envelopes.. Marko walks back toward the waiting car. Spider-Man, who has leapt clear of the blast by clinging to a building readies to go after Marko. That is until he sees that the supposedly abandoned buildings set for demolition contain homeless families. The explosion having sparked numerous fires, the helpless squatters frantically try to escape. Spider-Man huffs as he watches Marko climb into the car and drive off. He then fires a webline and swings over to the row of burning buildings. Landing on the side of the first building, Spider-Man sees that the people in the building have gathered by a single window. Outside the window- SPIDER-MAN SPINS A LARGE NET WHICH REACHES FROM THE WINDOW TO THE STREET. The people begin climbing down the net. Spider-Man swings to a second building and repeats the action. As he watches the occupants climb down, Spider-Man spots people in a third building frightfully calling for his attention. Spider-Man swings over to that building- but at he spins another web-net, THE FLOOR COLLAPES BENEATH THE PEOPLE IN THE BUILDING. 24 INT. CONDEMENED BUILDING - CONTINUING 24 Spider-Man smashes through the window. He sees the people sprawled across the floor beneath the collapsed one. As the fire spreads threatening another collapse, Spider-Man fires multiple weblines lifting the people up from the floor, and then lowers them out the window and onto the street, as fire trucks roll onto burning block. Spider-Man breathes a sigh of relief and turns to swing away from the blazing building- WHEN THE SCORPION SMASHES THROUGH THE WALL, SLAMMING SPIDER-MAN INTO THE FLOOR. Spider-Man rolls free from Scorpion's clutch. SPIDER-MAN You again? If you're looking for the tablet- you can see it's not with me- SCORPION Yeah- that's too bad- But I still get a little cash for taking you out- SPIDER-MAN (mock-upset) A little cash? Has the underworld started taking me for granted? SCORPION Not me- Scorpion lunges at Spider-Man again- and Spider- Man dodges his advance. The building continues to burn and disintegrate around them. As Scorpion stomps forward- THE FLOOR AGAIN COLLAPSES- SPIDER-MAN AND SCORPION DROPPING TO THE FLOOR BELOW. Stunned they both struggle to recover. SPIDER-MAN (Coughing) You might have noticed it's getting a little provocative in here- Can we take this outside? SCORPION No chance creep- My armor'll probably survive this- But your cute little Dance-skins won't help you a lick- Scorpion rises and moves forward- AND THE FLOOR COLLAPSES AGAIN- SPIDER-MAN AND SCORPION CRASH INTO THE BUILDING BASEMENT. SCORPION (continuing) That's really startin' to piss me off- SPIDER-MAN You need to stop talking Scorp- cause every time you do, the floor collapses- I don't wanna say its your breath but- Scorpion swings his tail at Spider-Man, who dodges. SCORPION I can do something to help that- by stopping you from breathin' More debris drops from above as the building threatens to collapse on the two. Spider-Man looks around desperately for a means of escape. Spider-Man climbs the wall moving toward a corner as Scorpion readies to strike again. SCORPION (continuing) You got no place to go punk! Scorpion swings his tail again- but this time, instead of dodging, Spider-Man catches it, and jams the blade into the building's ELECTRICAL JUNCTION BOX. A POWERFUL SURGE OF ELECTRICITY RUNS THROUGH THE SCORPION. He folds into a pile on the floor, unconscious. Spider-Man breathes hard. 25 EXT. CONDEMNED STREET - CONTINUOUS 25 As police and firefighters move about, Spider- Man drags the unconscious Scorpion and dumps him in front several policemen. SPIDER-MAN Hey fellas.. Got you a fresh debutante for The Vault.. Better call for some Guardsmen.. His tail can be a little frisky.. And you might want to make sure the illegal power lines in these buildings are all shut-off.. WOMAN'S VOICE (O.S.) Expecting us to cart off your trash, wall-crawler? Spider-Man turns to see a woman approach. Mid- 40's she’s like chrome. Shining, beautiful exterior, but with an obvious toughness. She lights a cigarette. SPIDER-MAN No offense, ma'am.. But if I took him home with me it would be awkward.. See, I live with a Lady Bug- WOMAN Spare me the humor Spider-Man.. And it's not ma'am.. It's DeWolff.. Captain Jean DeWolff.. SPIDER-MAN -Charmed.. George Stacy mentioned you.. You took over after he retired.. DEWOLFF -And it's out of respect to him, that I'm not slapping the cuffs on you for this disaster.. Spider-Man gestures toward the Scorpion. SPIDER-MAN (Child-like) -He started it.. DEWOLFF ..I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt, Spider-Man.. But we're going to need to talk.. SPIDER-MAN Love to, Captain.. But can I get the smell of burning soot out of my Spidey suit? First impressions and all.. DeWolff grimaces considering. DEWOLFF Clear out.. Spider-Man fires a webline and swings off. 26 INT. ESU SCIENCE DEPARTMENT - EVENING 26 In what is left of Connor's office He and Peter Parker confer. PETER Spider-Man couldn't find out who the Scorpion was working for.. But the cops might if he makes a plea deal. But I guess that isn't important, since Silvermane's pet gorilla walked off with the tablet.. Are Mrs. Connors and Billy okay? CONNORS Yes. They're at home. Connors begins to pace. CONNORS (continuing) The concern now is getting the tablet back.. There's no telling what a crime syndicate like the Maggia might do if they unlock the secrets of the tablet.. PETER I know.. Spider-Man said he'll do everything to get it back.. CONNORS I hope so.. The two of you have an interesting relationship.. PETER ...I guess I'm one of the few guys who doesn't try to screw him over.. But speaking of relationships.. I’d better get running Doc.. Got a call to make.. 27 INT. PETER AND HARRY'S APARTMENT - NIGHT 27 Peter walks into the darkened apartment, tired after yet another extended battle. Peter clicks on the lights. And finds HARRY OSBORN sprawled out across the sofa. Peter regards Harry with a sadness. He shakes his head before heading to the rear of the apartment. 28 INT. PETER'S BEDROOM - CONTINUING 28 Peter enters the room and places his bag down, then slumps onto his bed. Wearily, he reaches for the telephone. Nervously he looks at the keypad before deciding to plunge in and dial. THE PHONE RECEIVES A RINGING SIGNAL. 29 INT. STACY FAMILY HOME, LONDON ENGLAND - MORNING 29 ARTHUR and NANCY STACY in their mid-fifties sit at the breakfast table. Arthur is fixed on his morning newspaper. ARTHUR Heh- Nancy- It seems a member of the House of Lords was throwing out the opening day pitch for our local Cricketers. So he tosses the pitch- and beans the batter- right on his head! The Lord jokingly suggests that he and the batter switch professions- to which the batter replies- he required quite a few more blows to the head to be fit for seating in the House of Lords! Arthur laughs heartily. Nancy releases a chuckle. NANCY -quite funny dear.. Arthur reaches for the slice of toast on the plate in front of him. ARTHUR Good Lord, Nancy.. This toast is fairly weighed down with marmalade.. It's practically splitting at the center.. NANCY Extra marmalade since the children are away.. And Gwendolyn doesn't eat it.. ARTHUR ..Then dump the rest.. NANCY -At these prices? One should be flogged for such a waste- ARTHUR Then feed it to the birds.. They deserve a healthy meal for all the droppings they leave about.. NANCY -And leave sticky piles of goo all over our yard? ARTHUR -Well then spread it on bread- NANCY Then you want me to not only waste marmalade, but bread as well? Arthur realizes he's licked. He nods and smiles, then takes a deep bite of the marmalade drenched toast. Gwen descends the stairs, as THE PHONE RINGS. Nancy starts to rise. GWEN Don't get up Aunt Nancy, I've got it- Gwen picks up. GWEN (continuing) -Hello?

30 INT. PETER'S BEDROOM - CONTINUOUS 30
PETER Hey beautiful.. GWEN Pete! PETER How's life for England's best import? GWEN I've aged about 5 years due to the antediluvian vapors of the university library.. But otherwise I'm in one piece.. PETER You'll be the hottest member of the rocking chair set.. (pause) So.. I guess you've heard about the tablet section.. GWEN Mr. Osborn told us about it.. He said Spider-Man was involved.. Is he okay? PETER ..He'll survive.. But uh.. There's one thing.. He misses his girl. He misses her bad. GWEN (Pause) I'm sure she misses him, too.. PETER ..When's she going to come home? GWEN She's not sure. She has alot of things left to sort out. You see every time she hears about Spider- Man nearly getting killed she gets a tremor in the pit of her stomach.. And when she thinks about the world that Spider-Man dwells in, she wonders what kind of a future they can have. Can there be a home for them? A family? Or is she going to have to expect Dr. Octopus and the Vulture for regular dinner guests? Figuratively or literally? She's wondering if Spider-Man can walk away from all of that.. She's wondering if she has any right to ask him to.. And when she runs all of those items through her head, she doesn't have any good answers.. Does Spider-Man? Peter looks down, sadly searching himself. PETER No. Not yet. But he- I love you, Gwen. GWEN I love you too, Pete.. Gwen hangs up the phone. Arthur and Nancy work to appear as though they hadn't been listening. Arthur buries his head in his paper. Nancy looks for something to do, then finally gives up. NANCY -That was Peter, dear? I don't mean to pry but.. You were talking quite seriously.. GWEN We were just talking about characters in a bad soap opera.. Something I miss not being in the States.. NANCY I see.. She decides not to go further. Arthur chomps on his pipe as he continues to look at his paper, while considering Gwen. 31 INT. PETER'S BEDROOM - CONTINUOUS 31 Peter remains still, sadly unable to move, disappointed with the results of his talk with Gwen. Only THE DOORBELL RINGING breaks his state. 32 INT. PETER AND HARRY'S APARTMENT - CONTINUOUS 32 Peter walks toward the BUZZING DOOR. He only pauses to glance with slight annoyance at Harry, who's only reaction to the bell is a sleepy grumble. Peter opens the door to be greeted by the warm- smile of AUNT MAY. she bears a pot. PETER (Happily) Aunt May! AUNT MAY Hi dear! Peter Hugs and kisses May on the cheek. She enters. AUNT MAY (continuing) I hope I'm not interrupting anything.. PETER When is it an interruption to see my best girl0 Especially when she comes packin' a pot of home-cooked lovin'! Peter takes May's coat. May looks over to spot Harry. AUNT MAY Hi Harry! The sound of May's greeting shakes Harry from sleep. he groggily lifts his head, although not sure where he is. HARRY -Huh? He rolls himself around, looking like a wrinkled blanket. He begins to get his bearings. HARRY (continuing) -Ohh.. Hi Mrs. Parker! When'd you get here Pete? PETER -Just now- I crawled through that gaping hole in your head.. May gives a concerned look at Harry, as she walks to the kitchen. Peter follows her. AUNT MAY -So, how are you boys doing? Harry sits up and tries to rattle the haze from his head. Back in the kitchen, Peter sets the table as May heats dinner. PETER Well, aside from being malnourished I guess you could say we're holding it together.. AUNT MAY How are things between you and Gwen? PETER I just spoke with her.. things are still... Uh... Peter is too heartsick to elaborate further. AUNT MAY ..Do you know how your Uncle Ben and I lasted? Peter huffs again at the threat of more advice. PETER -By not taking unsolicited advice? AUNT MAY (Irate) Peter! Peter becomes aware of himself and is regretful. PETER -I'm sorry Aunt May.. But everybody is unloading advice on me about Gwen.. It just.. It doesn't help. It only makes me feel more alone.. May smiles softly, understanding Peter's hurt. She places a comforting hand on Peter's shoulder. AUNT MAY ..I'm sorry, Peter.. sometimes we older folk get generous with the advice because we feel it's all we have to offer you kids.. But we do have our love.. and we have our hugs.. And she gives him one. May spots Harry in the kitchen port way. Harry looks at her as if he's seeing her for the first time. HARRY -Hi Mrs. Parker- when did you get here? That smells great! May is momentarily confused. AUNT MAY Harry, you- But she pauses as Harry wanders past Peter and May toward the dining table. May looks up at Peter with concern. AUNT MAY (continuing) Peter- What's going on with Harry? Peter looks at Harry with frustration. PETER -He's been acting like a zombie for months.. I keep meaning to sit down with him. But whenever I have time he doesn't and vice- versa.. I thought he'd pull out of it. But it just seems be getting worse. All the pressure he has with his responsibilities at Oscorp, I guess. His dad is pretty demanding.. May frowns as she looks back at Harry. 33 INT. PETER AND HARRY'S APARTMENT, BATHROOM - NIGHT 33 May is in the bathroom. She opens the medicine cabinet. A look of alarm overtakes her. She sees a virtual pharmacy of pills. May looks over the various bottles. Then she comes to a series of bottles with no prescription. She grimaces knowing that these must be illegal. May looks toward the door, thinking. She then takes the unmarked bottles and drops them in her purse. May opens the door to find Harry waiting outside. May gasps and then smiles nervously. HARRY -Sorry Mrs. Parker- Didn't want to rush you! AUNT MAY That's okay Harry. May hurries out of the bathroom. She gets a little distance away, but turns back. Harry, unaware that he hasn't closed the door, pauses half-turned toward the medicine cabinet. hesitantly he reaches toward it, then stops short of opening it. His arm dangles before the cabinet for a moment. though outwardly he merely seems thoughtful. Inside there's a battle being waged. Harry fortifies himself and lowers his arm. He then glances behind him noticing that the bathroom door is open0 and that May has been watching him. They meet eyes and both register embarrassment. HARRY (Red-faced) Sorry Mrs. Parker- Guy's apartment- We don't worry too much about closing doors.. AUNT MAY (Equally nervous) -Don't worry about it Harry- I lived with two boys- They each quickly and awkwardly turn away as Harry shuts the door. As May walks, Peter appears in front of her in the hall, a curious expression registering from May's distress. PETER -Everything okay? AUNT MAY (Regaining her calm) -Yes. Fine.. She and Peter walk toward the door. PETER -I'll call you tomorrow.. He kisses her cheek. AUNT MAY -That's good. (Pause) -And Peter- talk to Harry.. Peter is about to respond negatively. May cuts him off. AUNT MAY (continuing) Make time, Peter.. Peter nods and smiles. May smiles back and walks out. Peter watches her walk to the elevator and then closes the door behind him. As Peter walks back into the apartment. Harry merges from the bathroom. Harry looks over at Peter. HARRY -Well, big day tomorrow at Oscorp- I'm hittin' the sack- PETER -You just woke up.. HARRY -What was that, like six hours ago? PETER -More like two.. HARRY -Well, I hear they're hiring watch the clocks while paint dries.. I think you've found your calling.. Harry turns toward his room. PETER Harry, wait- HARRY (impatient) -What's up, man? PETER (Uneasy) -It's just.. It's uh, that we haven't talked in a long while.. HARRY We talk everyday.. PETER No I mean talked.. HARRY Oh. (Thoughtful) -Sorry man, I just don't love you that way.. But there's a guy in my accounting department- He breaks into laughter. Peter also laughs. PETER -Seriously.. I guess being, you know- Guys we tend not to pry.. And I'm certainly protective of my privacy, so I don't like to invade anybody else's.. HARRY =Yeah- about that- Peter cuts him off before he can ask the wrong question. PETER -But I think we both have some things we need to unload.. HARRY -You mean like you and Gwen? PETER -Uh- Among other things.. HARRY -I just figured you needed your space about that. But since you brought it up- Any word on when she's coming home? PETER -Well, she's still working with Dr. Warren on that tablet excavation Oscorp is sponsoring.. HARRY Yeah- well I'm glad I could get her on the inside track for that.. But if it's keeping you two apart- PETER -And speaking of Oscorp- HARRY -Were we? PETER -How's the jib going? To be honest, Harry.. It looks like the job is taking a toll on you.. You're worn out all the time- Is the pressure of working there and still being in school part time too much..

Harry rolls Peter's words around in his head for
a moment. Then, suddenly his demeanor changes as those a false-face has been washed away. HARRY (Grim) ..It's killing me.. It's sucking every fiber of life-juice out of me. (pause) I don't know what it is about Norman.. But he's like a black hole, swallowing any light that flickers near him. Peter is struck by this. HARRY (continuing) It's not even about performance.. It's never enough. If I do good, I should be doing great. If I do great, I should've been striving for perfection.. I tell ya Pete.. I'm going to be an old man before I hit my thirties working for that guy.. Who just happens to be my dad.. PETER Then.. Maybe instead of figures and profit analysis, you should be talking to him about that. HARRY You're joking, right? You don't talk to Norman Osborn.. He pushes your button, and you spill out whatever info he asks for. And God help you if you tell him something he doesn't want to hear.. 34 INT. EMPIRE STATE UNIVERSITY SCIENCE DEPARTMENT - NIGHT 34 Connors is on the phone. CONNORS (Agitated) Norman, what were you expecting? Me to bat the Scorpion off with my one arm? 35 INT. OSCOOSCORP LONDON BRANCH, NORMAN OSBORN'S 35 OFFICE - CONTINUOUS Norman Osborn is on the opposite end. He sits at his desk, in a mostly darkened office. NORMAN First, you're retreading obsolete information, Curt.. The Scorpion isn't the one who got away with the tablet.. Secondly.. No.. I don't expect a man of your... Disadvantages to perform any type of feats of physical prowess. That's what your wife is for.. Curt is gutted by the remark. NORMAN (continuing) What I had expected.. Or at least hoped for, was that your intelligence was up to the task.. Knowing the value of the object, You'd have taken steps to protect it. What was it doing unsecured? CONNORS I was.. Uh.. allowing a photographer for the Daily Bugle take pictures.. NORMAN I see.. CONNORS -But Norman, after all, it was only a copy- The actual section is still safe at Oscorp.. NORMAN It isn't the tablet- But Oscorp's safety that I'm concerned about! Do you realize how much money I've sank into this project? The board members- as always- are snapping at my heels over the venture.. No one must be allowed to profit from the tablet's secrets but Oscorp! A light flashes on Norman's phone indicating another call coming in. NORMAN (continuing) ..I have another call coming in.. Please do hold the line, Curt.. Norman puts him on hold. NORMAN (continuing) Norman Osborn.. 36 INT. PETER AND HARRY'S APARTMENT - CONTINUOUS 36 HARRY Dad? NORMAN Harry, what are you doing calling at this time? Are you at the office? HARRY I'm at home, Dad.. NORMAN I'm on another call Harry.. Peter stands just off to Harry's side. Harry looks at him. Peter makes a silent nod and smile of support. Fueled by this, Harry is emboldened.
