Default Discovery Channels "The Colony".

My friend told me about this show today, I remembered seeing an ad on TV about it and thought it was one of the coolest shows to check out.

Then I forgot about it until today when me and a few friends were talking about District 9 and one of them said "Oh, have any of you watched The Colony?". I went to Discovery.com to see if they had any free episodes up (which they do) and watched the first four episodes. They're great.

The Colony is about a group of complete strangers that must band together to survive in a post-apocalyptic world, more worse, down town L.A. Each member of the colony has an expertise in various fields of study, there's a doctor, nurse, engineer, mechanic, Computer Tech guy, handyman (guy who knows various things), a contractor, Marine Biologist, Chief, physical trainer. I can't think of the rest of them but, that's them for the most part.

Here is a better list with pictures of the Colonists:

So far, my favorite Colonists are John C, Vladimir B and, George F.

The colonists are faced with realistic goals and tasks as they find refuge in an abandoned factory. Finding food and water. Making a power source/maintaining it. Keeping a well placed security.

The security is my favorite aspect of they're lives there because the thieves that come to harass/steal from them literally come at random.

I've been watching this show, and so far it's been pretty entertaining. The Martial artist lady though she needs to start kicking some ass.

The show's entertaining so far, but I've only seen 2 episodes. It's focused more to the reality show side rather than what I would have hoped to see, the engineering side. There was more talking about fixing the truck than actual fixing the truck on screen!

The martial artist chick I'm not impressed with. From what I've seen, her form's pretty so-so. she seems more fitness trainer who probably teaches a women's self defense class to me. I find it odd that she refers to herself as a martial artist too, I've been a marital artist for 23 years and teach, but when people ask what I do for a living I'm a freelance writer, my Sensei introduces himself as an architect even though he owns and teaches at 2 schools.

Yeah, she is kind of pointless, her and the Marine Biologist.

LOL, they found a use for the rocket scientist! But seriously, they are not nearly enough concentrating on the engineering side of things here. Rebuilding, fixing, etc. Though the last episode showed a bit of that with the radio and concern for health with the hospital thing.

i don't know this show just kind of annoys me. the people are far too into it. i know they need to survive and all, but they know its not real and its all an act. that and and they have expert help and the like on set telling them how to do crap. i don't know its kind of useless

Somebody needs to knock Michael Raines down a pegg or two. He thinks he is way more badass than he is.
