Default Comicbook editing software?

Hey, guys! I´m writing and pencilling my own comicbook and I just need to ask you guys what software I can use to color, edit and do anything that I need to make my comic look professional. Cuz, Photoshop just doesn´t cut it by far!

What software does the pro´s use? And where can I download it for free?

I guess there's no need for courtesy around these parts. So, you're pointlessly rude.

i think the point is his statement "photoshop dosnt cut it by far" is just absurd as it is what the pro's use
learn how to use photoshop properly and it will look professional there is no easy fix that does all the hard ork for you

Not everyone has a background in using the program and perhaps not the time to learn how to use it. There are some excellent comic book programs out there that are sufficient and have a professional look to them.

Personally I use Photo Suite II from 1997. There's really no layering or gradient textures and colors, just a simple Photo editor.

the fact of the matter is he said "doesn't cut it by far" which implies he knows the program, to form such an opinion.

To clarify; I know enough of Photoshop to have learned that it aint working good enough for me. Just take a look at this one page of my comic and you´ll see that it is pixellated and doesn´t have the smoothness that professional comics have. I had to make the text boxes in Paint, FFS!
So that´s why I was after something that´s designed specifically for working with comics.

pixelation comes from the size of the images your using being too small for the canvas

thats strange it dosnt happen with my photoshop - I think alot of comic book artists re-ink with illustrator so that the image is vector based and will never get pixelated - I dont know what you mean about text boxes they are fine in photoshop?

if you set your canvas to the highest resolution, your images are going to be smaller... set your page to 300dpi and a regular page for a comic (not sure the measurements but its just smaller then an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper. When you paste an image... never stretch it bigger.. usually it will pixelate, you just need larger/high-rez imagery. My guess is your photos arn't anywhere near the size and resolution of your canvas
