Garret Hedlund for Aquaman please. If Sean Bean were younger it would be him.

I still love the Alexander Skarrsgard idea.

First film: Origin story. Atlantean empire in focus. Ocean Master's hunger for power and domination. Human civilization causing long-term climate changes.

Second film: Aquaman established hero. Terrorists/pirates who take ships hostage. Greedy global companies. Pollution of the sea & short-term environmental issues. Black Manta pulling the strings behind everything.

No, Rhys Wakefield or David Gallagher are.

Should Steven Spielberg direct this? We've been through almost every big director of that caliber, and now I think we should seriously discuss him here.
Look at Spielberg's resume, from The Duel and up to today. Do you think he can manage such a huge superhero adventure?

I can definitely see this working out if he portrays Aquaman with similar severity as his character in The Social Network.

Could he manage it? Sure.
Would he take the audience to another world for the potential Atlantean approach? Probably not as well as, say, Peter Jackson or James Cameron. However, that doesn't necessarily make him a bad choice or a guarantor of mediocre results.

My friends watch True Blood and I don't. So whenever they talk about him I refer to him as "True Blood Aquaman guy"

Armie Hammer literally looks like most square jawed comic book characters as is. Visually he could be any number of them, so long as you switch up the hairstyles or colors.

He's a really bad actor though. He plays his True Blood character in everything he does. He comes off as to metro too.

IMO Farrsbender is the actor thats well rounded enough to pull off the role and Darabont is the director that will give Aquaman some clout.

The guy can act. His character in Battleship was nothing like his True Blood character. Neither was his character in Zoolander.

I'm not saying he would do a bad job, but he looks more like Clark imo.

I don't think so. I feel like he has this doofy look to him. I could never take him seriously as a dark character like Batman. Maybe he could play a lighter superhero.

that's only because we've seen him as clark so far. i think he looks more like a bruce because his features are more angular, more severe. i loved daniel araya's take on this.

THIS IMAGE: This pic is kinda what started the whole thing. I always thought Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent were a great opportunity to play with contrast. They both have similar features in a broad sense (Caucasian, black hair, relatively good looking) but I don't think they need to be drawn to look the same! These characters couldn't be more different, and so I tried to play that up with the shape language used in their design. I made Bruce primarily out of triangular shapes to associate him with danger, and I made Clark mostly out of chunky block shapes to emphasize a sense of protectiveness (which I think is what Superman is all about). I rounded the corners off on Superman's "blocks" to make sure the shapes were still comfortable and friendly.

I also made Bruce slightly more pale than Clark because I feel like it emphasizes the lack of warmth and is another way to appropriately add contrast to the characters.
i agree wholeheartedly. which is why i think armie would have been a really good choice for supes. he's got the big blue boy scout thing going for him.

Nah, I'm still gonna have to disagree. He just has that chiseled look that suits Clark/Superman imo.
