You can't leave half the universe dead. So either they all have to come back at the end or you just don't do it to begin with.

I'm satisfied with the ratio of deaths to open-ended deaths we've seen.

- I'm personally in the camp that head canon's Coulson dead (with Agents of SHIELD as a What If story or Jacob's Ladder moment).

- Quicksilver could be brought back, but I don't see it happening. And his death impacts Scarlet Witch heavily. Inspires her to be an Avenger.

- Red Skull could come back, and I'd love to see it. And he didn't actually "die" anyway.

- Groot wasn't dead either, in spite of what a first watch through might've had you believe. Same with Nick Fury in TWS, Bucky in TFA, Loki in TDW, Rhodes in CW... Okay on second thought this does happen pretty often. :P

But anyway, of the few deaths that have been solidified, only Coulson has been "brought back to life." As far as I can remember. When The Ancient One or Jan Van Dyne come back we can talk about those.

You can leave the non-named heroes dead, as in inhabitants of all the other planets and however much of Earth's civilians/military plus the heroes you are happy to leave dead forever. Otherwise yes, absolutely don't do it. When you kill a major character in future many won't take it seriously and by the time they find out that this time it is a real death (likely intended to be a huge moment in the MCU) they can't go back to the moment and recapture the emotion that the death was supposed to inspire.

Bringing villains back is different as there's no crying wolf aspect to it where the filmmakers tried to get us to feel sad about the death that didn't really happen. People actually feel like they've been duped and when the real death of a hero happens they don't want to be one of the dumb ones who fell for it again.

I would be very disappointed, if we do not see Thanos in both movies...

Thanos did not do much till now, in Avengers 3 we have the Black Order too...
Could mean, we just see Thanos for the/an end-battle...

Would be lame for an ending of a story told in almost 20 movies!!

Think Feige said we would get a lot of Thanos in the movie. Also they have been saying next time we see him we will be like "Wow that is why he has been teased for so long". I expect him to show off his intelligence and strength.

He has to be in both movies too.

We're not sure how Pirates 5 is gonna do. I wouldn't be surprised if it underperforms.

The next three years of genre movies are gonna be ridiculously crowded.

Spoilers about tv series Lost:

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
They actually used that really well in Lost. We audience thought we knew that the character Locke died at some point and later came back to life. When we saw his death in a flashback, it felt really mundane. Only later we found out that the resurrected Locke was an imposter, meaning that Locke really died back there and nobody cared. That in itself was really sad.

They could try a similar gut punch in MCU. Kill a character in a way that screams fake out. Have other characters disbelieve it too. Then reveal that it really happened.

What do you think will Black Widow's role be in these films? I think that as Scarlet Witch's role is expanded, Captain Marvel is introduced, and Wasp is included, that Black Widow will fade more and more into the background. She has no powers and can't do anything to Thanos. Black Widow has been promised a solo film and will get one in Phase Four, but until then she won't be that relevant.

She hasn't been promised anything and I doubt there will be a Black Widow film in phase 4

I don't mean this to be rude, but I will never understand why this is such a prevalent argument. "Can't do anything against Thanos" describes a very large portion of this cast. That's why the movie isn't 2 hours of the Avengers in a fist fight with Thanos.

Even the strongest of them can't do anything to Thanos. You saw what she did in the first Avengers, go up and get that spear and close the portal. Her skills are manipulation and infiltration. She can physically beat down most normal humans and a few aliens, but that's not her role.

She will wiggle her bum and look sexy, which is enough for me. Hawkeye and cap will probably have to do the same although cap will probably make an emotional speach that will turn the tide.

I don't get how people still don't grasp this three movies in.

And as for the point about Captain Marvel and the Wasp, the Wasp is explicitly said to not be in this and will only show up in the fourth film, and as of right now it's looking like Carol Danvers won't have powers until her solo movie anyway, so if she does show up in IW like most are predicting, it'll likely be as soldier or agent of some kind.

And of course, this entire line of reasoning relies on the idea that you can only have a certain amount of women in your movie, which is preposterous.

Yeah, but way too many fanboys wanted one of them to die in either AOU or CW. It was like once there was more than one black guy in a film, that was one too many.

I am glad they gave off the impression Rhodey was gonna bite it, but didn't. When he slammed into the ground everyone gasped and was sure he was gone.

I expect her to do the same things. She won't be on the asteroid or outerspace with the crew fighting Thanos. I expect her to help out on Earth maybe protecting someone that got hurt.
