Should have been a mini series alongside the main Thor title, that way if you wanted to avoid title you could but still get the regular monthly Thor.

I was planning to skip this female Thor nonsense myself. The in universe narrative justification is really weak and overall it just feels like a cheap sales shock publicity stunt.
I am also anticipating Steve Rogers will rightfully be placed back as Cap by then too.

Just as he was Cap again when the Avengers hit theaters back in 2012 (too bad he got stuck in the crappy AVX story that same year).

So was it revealed who this female Thor is in the first issue?

I liked the first issue, and decided I will probably be picking up Thor until Aaron leaves. The 11 issues of God of Thunder I read were really good and I'm going to have go catch up on what I missed once I have more money to spare.

The first issue was awesome. The original Thor is still there and doesn't look like he's going anywhere, so I don't really see any reason to complain. The book will basically continue to have co-leads, only instead of present-day, young, and Old King Thor, it'll be original Thor and new Thor. No big deal. Aaron's still writing interesting stories, so whatevs.

Looks like Aaron might draw it out. Hopefully we'll know by the end of the first arc, at least. More than that and I'll start getting irritated.

Thor could become the character that goes "I could do that, if I had my Mjolnir " then the Avengers all chuckle together as the credits start to roll.

Seemed like Frigga got him out of his whining mode in this very issue. He flies his goat underwater and starts wrecking frost giants with Jarnbjorn. Not the best ending to that adventure, granted, but he'll bounce back.

Finally read the first issue(I was in no great rush). Thor getting his arm chopped off upset me greatly. Salt in the wound

I wonder what we were supposed to take away from that panel of Freyja staring at Mjolnir after Odin got done being super sexist and himself towards her. Could she have fabricated a younger version of herself like Loki does every week to be the new Thor?

Aquaman eventually got his hand back, so I'm sure one day we'll see Thor regain his arm.

Except for years and years dating back to the Jurgens run that the Thor of the future was shown to be missing an arm. The future is now apparently.

The future of Jurgens' run was wiped out when Thor traveled back in time and rejoined his younger self to Jake Olsen. Jason Aaron's been pretty clear that his version is another possible future, not Jurgens'.

Or... she could just be the new Thor. Eric Masterson transformed into a copy of Thor's body when he picked up Mjolnir. No reason Frigga couldn't turn into a female version of Thor's body when she picks it up.

Thor missing an arm doesn't bother me. Aaron's run was incredible with the past, present and future Thor so if future Thor is now canon meaning present Thor has a metal arm I'm okay with that. A lot of artists draw Thor arms as completely covered anyway.

The new arm looks like it belonged to The Destroyer, so I'm assuming it comes with some perks. No way are artists covering that thing up; it was plenty exposed on Old King Thor.

Finally caught up with the last issues of Thor: God of Thunder. Loved how started but thought it fizzled out in th end. I liked the Galactus story, but the rest fell flat for me. Still, will be following Thor's new direction. See what happens.

They're not gonna cover the arm. Even if they wanted to, they can't because Thor's current costume doesn't include a f***ing shirt. I like the new direction and the fact that comic-Thor finally has a beard again, but I hate everything else about his look. It's a really, really boring design.

Future stories are never canon. Period, full stop. They can't be because no publisher is going to lock themselves into something and cut off potential stories/money.

Mjolnir or no, he's still a friggin' prince, and princes wear shirts. FACT.
