Speaking of Sonic the Hedgehog, I just got Sonic '06 for the PS3 through Ebay. I foresee me completing this game long after the new Sonic game for the WiiU is released.

Awesome! Will certainly check it out if it follows the style of Lost World, Colors, or Generations. SEGA has really played it safe with those.

Man, between this and Ninja Turtles, what is with designers putting a bunch of random bandages on characters in reboots?

Edit: On their shoes even, what the hell?

Kncukles' body looks really weird. It looks like his body just stopped growing half way through puberty or something.

Super Sonic 3D Land? Hopefully it is more like that and not the Crash of the Titans vibe I'm getting...

Good lord what have they done...Knuckles looks freaking TERRIBLE and Sonic looks awkward as hell. At least Tails still looks like himself.

The poor Sonic franchise...hasn't it been through enough? How did Sega not learn from Sonic Generations?!?!?! That was such a great game, and the perfect opportunity for the Sonic Team to get back in touch with the roots of the franchise and what the fans love.........and then somehow they do this.

Sega...you get an EPIC for this.

Besides Knuckles, everyone else looks pretty much the same with or without the add accessories.

Yeah, besides Knuckles, I'm not seeing much of a problem. Those bandages are dumb as hell though.

I've been hearing that this new "Boom" thing is being developed by ex-Naughty Dog employees. Does anyone know if there's any truth to that? If so, it kinda makes sense. The gameplay and environments look very Jak and Daxter inspired and Knuckles kinda reminds me of Crunch Bandicoot. I dunno. I'm not all too interested, mostly because...it's just more Sonic. I lost interest in that years ago.

The founder of Big Red Button who is working on the game is Bob Rafei. He was the first employee hired at Naughty Dog to work on Crash Bandicoot plus its sequels and the whole Jak series minus The Lost Frontier. He left after the first Uncharted I think.

This. ^

I hate the new designs. Everyone had a nice look, why mess with it? If they wanted to change their appearances for the cartoon, why not just use the Sonic Riders designs?

And blue arms. What the heck!?

Actually, I'm okay with Knuckles. He's taller and just slightly chubby, but overall the same. But they completely destroyed Sonic. He's tall and goofy looking and you can't even see his iconic red sneakers! How did SEGA approve of this!?

As a lifelong Sonic fan, I have to say, I'm very angry right now.

The press release mentioned Sonic Boom is supposed to be a comedy, With that in mind, I was expecting something like Regular Show, with Sonic & Tails just hanging out and getting into comical misadventures.

Remember that Sonic Boom is also an animated series that the game is just going to be tying into. It's not part of the main Sonic series and is considered a spinoff. I dont even think Japan is getting a release, this is purely a western thing. The old Sonic will still be around this design is just for Sonic Boom I think.

Not talking bout you, but that's what some 'high minded people'* may think, but I think more accurately since Sonic & Knuckles. Rather the Genesis days to be precise.

To be fair, he was fairly big still when Sonic Adventure came around. Those games were decent and popular.
