Just like most new technologies i'm going to wait until the price gets cheaper and the technology further prevents itself.

I think of the current Oculus Rift and the Playstation VR as the original iPhone, and i'm waiting for the 4S version of their VR products till i'm fully committed to VR.

I'm going to wait awhile on it to see how it actually is. I'm still super skeptical of VR as a viable concept.

Thanks for the feedback, sounds like you guys are generally in the same boat as me on this. Maybe E3 will give us some good info on it this year.

Glad there's a ton of VR-ready games for the Oculus and PS VR come launch and beyond it's cycle, one of the key ingredients for product longevity is tons of content.

Let's hope this said "Content" is good tho.

I ended up choosing Oculus. I'm not that into the full body motion control and I prefer the Oculus controllers over the Vive's wands. Also, the one other thing is I didn't like even one of the Vive launch titles...but with Oculus there are a few I want and I can even play Alien Isolation thanks to a mod.

So, I ended up going with the Vive after further research. Ended up cancelling my Oculus order. Got an email saying my Vive would arrive in May. No exact date of course.

After a brief introduction of Sword Art Online: The Beginning, we get to see some in-game footage starting at the 1:50 mark, after the player’s body has been scanned and made into an avatar for the game. You can see how they do simple actions like walking and interacting with other players while fighting boss together as a party.

You can read more about the project in our earlier report.

Read more stories about Sword Art Online: The Beginning on Siliconera.

New Oculus titles playable at E3, due out this holiday.

Insomniac Games has announced the final release dates for Song of the Deep and Oculus Rift virtual reality title Edge of Nowhere, as well as announced two new virtual reality titles for Oculus Rift.
Song of the Deep

Song of the Deep, Insomniac’s Metroidvania-style 2D adventure game about a young girl looking for missing father in the depths of a vast ocean, will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC at GameStop and digitally on July 12. It will be published by GameTrust, GameStop’s new publishing division.
Watch a new story trailer below.

Edge of Nowhere

Edge of Nowhere, Insomniac Games’ Oculus Rift third-person action adventure game where players travel to the far reaches of the Antarctic mountains in search of a missing expedition team, will launch via the Oculus Store on June 6.

Feral Rites

The first of Insomniac Games’ new virtual reality titles is Feral Rites, an adventure brawler where players fight their way through missions and quests to avenge their father. It is set on a mystical island and will see players exploring unique areas, including jungles and temples, while mastering new abilities, including the ability to transform into a feral beast. It is due out via the Oculus Store this fall and will be playable at E3 this year.
Watch the teaser trailer below.

The Unspoken

Insomniac Games’ second new virtual reality title is The Unspoken, an Oculus Touch-enabled game that puts players in a hidden world of spell-casting and magician’s duels. Players will manipulate their environments with arcane forces, summon monstrosities, and rise up through the ranks of an urban magic fight club in player-versus-player combat. It is due out via the Oculus Store in November and will be playable at E3.
