Agreed that Nightshade was probably in the script of BP and had a minor role. The fact that both the tweet and picture to go along with it from the actress in BP have been deleted, I think is telling. It's likely that the minor character from BP has since been changed to someone else because the character has a bigger role in LC. That's actually a good sign because it'd mean there actually is communication between movie and tv sides.

Nightshade in Black Panther appears to be just some generic henchwoman for Killmonger. They probably won't even mention the characters name in the movie.

I hope that some cool directors are brought into the show. John Singleton (he tried for a good while to get a movie going), also Mario Van Peebles, Ava DuVernay, Kasi Lemmons, etc.

If anything, it's just another example of the disconnect between Marvel's film and TV divisions.

If anything, the fact that everything saying the woman in BP is Nightshade is removed from the internet is just another example that the film division is willing to make changes if it benefits the TV division.

Or just somewhere in the middle. We don't have enough information to really know. Either the movies are going to cut references to Tilda Johnson (which seem plausible, there's no reason to even think the character is going to have lines let alone be a named character at this point) or they removed the information online because it would be a spoiler (i.e., they are going to name her).

Regardless, if the movie character is going to be a named character, it seems likely she'll be Wakandan, which tells me a last name of Johnson seems unlikely. But, since Netflix and the movies operate parallel, it's probably scripts for both were written and then they compared notes. Worst case scenario, if it was too late to change one, it's easy enough to explain. They're just both women with the same first and last names.

I don't think 'Tilda' is Wakandan in Black Panther. Looks like she is probably a mercenary working with Killmonger to help bust out Klaw. I doubt she even has more that a line or two.

Oh come on, it's impossible for two people to have the same first and last names. That's just ridiculous.

So with Luke's old man, who hopes that it sets up Blade?

how so? what would be the connection? In the Netflix series he was a pastor. So far anyway, there's no hint at him being an ex-cop, if you're referring to that "1970s Mighty Avengers" arc..

No, because its a dumb idea. There is no connection other than "both characters are black".

Lucy Liu is directing the season two premiere.

I've heard she's directed a few episodes of Elementary. Is she any good as a director?

There is a connection from the comics, which I assume is what he was referring to. I don't think they will be touching that storyline though.

Lucy Liu to Direct the Season 2 Premiere of Marvel's Luke Cage!

http://www.superherohype.com/news/40...-cage#/slide/1

Quote:
Marvel Entertainment and Netflix have announced that actress-turned-director Lucy Liu is set to step behind the camera for the Season 2 premiere of Marvel’s Luke Cage!

“What a thrill to collaborate with Marvel and Netflix, two industry titans, who paint our world with inspiring stories and beguiling characters,” Liu said. “It is such an honor to work with such a passionate and fearless team.”

“When you’re dealing with a bulletproof man, it helps if you have a bulletproof Director,” said executive producer Jeph Loeb. “Lucy brings a keen eye, a superb sense of story, and an obvious love of actors. She is rocking Luke Cage 2.”

Liu’s first directing credit was the 2011 short film Meena, which she followed with an episode of Graceland and four episodes of Elementary, which she also stars on.

Mike Colter returns as the titular Luke Cage, with Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard, and Theo Rossi as Shades. Newcomers to the series so far include Mustafa Shakir (The Deuce, The Night Of) as John McIver, a natural leader, brimming with charisma, whose mission is focused on Harlem and vengeance; and Gabrielle Dennis (Insecure, Rosewood) as Tilda Johnson, a brilliant, holistic doctor with a complicated history in Harlem where, as much as she tries to stay far from trouble, it seems to always find her.

Marvel’s Luke Cage is Executive Produced by Cheo Hodari Coker (Ray Donovan, Southland) and Aïda Croal (The Returned, True Blood) is Co-Executive Producer, along with Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory.

Luke Cage can next be seen in Marvel’s The Defenders, debuting on August 18. Marvel’s Luke Cage will return in 2018.
This is interesting. Is Elementary not returning soon?

She should have a guest-starring role in one of the Netflix series too. Maybe Marvel could convince her to do something. Don't know what role she could play though.

The next season of Elementary is only 13 episodes so Lucy Liu has more time on her hands.

I think Liu is probably more interested in expanding her directing career and focusing on her artistic career than acting at the moment which is why she is behind the camera instead of in front of it. Besides Elementary Liu has not done much acting over the last five years.

Nobody said it was a good idea. Personally I don't feel either way. But you asked

If they really wanted to, having a Pastor or man of God of any kind help a vampire hunter is not the strangest thing to ever happen.

She seems solid enough. She has directed episodes of elementary, graceland and a indie movie called meena.
