This was such a fantastic first ep. Within the first five minutes, I was hooked. And yes. Solid casting on everyone's end.

Cuba was quite good, but I still think he was a miscast. He doesn't have the stature, he doesn't have the voice, I'm just not getting OJ from him. Nonetheless, a great opening.

This was fantastic. Outside of Cuba being wrong for OJ, this was just all kinds of gripping.

Great first episode. Got me hooked right away.

As far as miscasts go, people keep saying Cuba, but I think Nathan Lane as F. Lee Bailey is the miscast.

I missed the last 15 mins (fell asleep), but loved every minute of the show. WAY too many commercial breaks, though. I won't usually be watching this live.

I dig the actor playing Christopher Darden. He was perfectly cast too. I'm fascinated by the relationship between Darden and Cochran. I didn't know they knew each other that well. I can't wait to see how that plays out over the course of the series.

Great opening, really gripping was in highschool while this actually happened. It brings a lot of memories back I didn't even realize that the OJ thing happened only 2yrs after the LA riots. That framed the tone of racial tension as well as frustrations with LA PD in Southern California.

The 90's in LA with the LAPD is the most fascinating period to look back on. Between Rodney King, OJ, the Rampart Scandal and the Notorious BIG's murder - things out there were crazy.

I love stuff that covers that like the movies Dark Blue and Street Kings.

I was thinking the same thing. He could have at least attempted to lower his voice a couple octaves.

That being said, I couldn't take my eyes off the screen the whole episode.

This opener was really fantastic. Hot damn. I thought Murphy and Fulchak were writing but it explains why this opener was so strong that they didn't. The first five minutes hooks you so damn much. Murphy's a very good director too. Off to a much better start than this past season of AHS. I'll be honest as someone who doesn't know all the details to this case, (I was only two when this was going on) this is like seeing a fictional story take place and I'm hooked and want to see it unfold where I don't know everything.

The cast is all excellent too. Vance ****ing leaps off the screen. Everyone is top notch and Paulson is damned great as always (and fine) I'm glad to see Travolta acting again. And Cuba doesn't bother me as O.J. given I haven't watched much of him. Only really in the first Naked Gun movie. But I'm willing to overlook that as in and of itself Cuba is very strong here and unnerving.

Just seen the first episode and this is the kind of great television I like to watch, acting is very good the casting of Cuba was a bit strange when I heard about it but he certainly pulls it off but obviously most people know the ins and outs of this story but im gonna enjoy the ride like I was right there in mr simpsons passengers seat

Just caught the premiere. (Missed it last night) Cuba was horribly miscast in this. IMO, his acting was.. pretty bad. Almost comical. The performances from the legal team is what kept me watching. One other little nitpick: The pointless name-dropping of the Kardashian girls had me rolling my eyes. They had nothing to do with the OJ trial. Other than that, A decent start to the series, definitely will be tuning in next week.

As someone who was around in the 90s and lived in Southern California, during not just the OJ Trial, but the Rodney King verdict and LA Riots , I came to the film a bit skeptical about it. I gotta say I was pretty impressed.

While Cuba isn't the first name that comes to mind for the lead, I think they cast the actors more to type as opposed to look, and Cuba certainly as an actor and personality is closer to the beloved nice guy image that OJ had before the trial, so it made sense. I thought he did a good job.

As someone who lived through at the time there's very little that will surprise me in terms of content , but a very good start and definitely worth of viewing to those who were too young to have been there and experienced all the drama and circus with the OJ Simpson saga back in the 90s.

It wasn't pointless name dropping. OJ really did threaten to kill himself in Kim's room. What did you expect her father to say in that situation?

I was looking forward to this for a long time. Did not disappoint. People really sleep on how good FX is as a network. Everything theyve been doing is great.

No real complaints except maybe Cuba Gooding JR. Now I was very happy he was cast because I feel like he's a good actor that doesn't get his worth. I think he's good in this, except he's not OJ. He's doing a very good job in terms of showing emotion, saying his lines, and all around it's a good performace. It just doesn't feel like I'm watching someone be OJ Simpson.

It seems they cast him as it would be unbelievable if Cuba killed two people, couldn't see him as a murderer. It was unbelievable to the public that OJ killed 2 people.

New ep was crazy. You know I know it's really good when I know how the story plays out but I still feel the tension.

And even though Marcia Clark is in the right I dont why she just annoys me in this ep. I dont know if it's the actress or what.

Well Marcia Clark not being likable is kinda the point though, imo.

Another excellent episode.

I dont know much about her in real life except, obviously, she was involved with the trial and how that plays out, she allegedly hooked up with that one guy, etc.

Is she generally seen as an unlikeable person in real life?

Yeah she was sort of picked apart in the media, and seen as quite shrill and unlikable in the court of public opinion. Some have considered that to be a significant factor in the sympathy garnered for OJ as the trial went on, I believe.
