Did they lift directly from MoS in some parts? It feels like it. But wow do I love those moments. Reminds me how much I love the MoS score.

They did, and it's amazing.

I love all of the tracks, but I am really digging "Do You Bleed" right now. I can't wait to hear it in context.

Really like "Tuesday". Maybe it's Doomsday's arrival?

"Day of the Dead" is my favorite track. I really like the tone it sets.

One of the latest tv spots uses "Is She With You" and it works really well.

I'm going to get some flack for this, but from a listening standpoint, the BvS score stinks. Some portions are beautiful, the quieter sections, but the album goes on for far too long. Holkenborg's idea for the new Batman is underwhelming, even if he tries to ape Elfman and Walker by tacking choir atop it. And was it just me, or did I hear a portion of Zimmer's The Dark Knight score early in the album? (Not a great thing to say you're not going to use Nolan's Batman material but it ends up in BvS anyway.)

Hopefully the movie is good enough to make up for it.

Really does. I made a trailer with it a while ago but I can't upload it to youtube because copyrights...

The only segment of Batman's new theme I really like is the more quiet somber stuff involving the horn and strings. The repetitive DUUUUUN DUN DUN DUN DUUUUUN does nothing for me. I understand it's the emphasise how threatening and intimidating he is but I can picture getting quite sick of hearing it during the progress of the film.

I'm hankering for Zimmer's Batman Begins score again. BvS just isn't cutting it for me.

You said it. Mos was amazing, but I knew giving junkie such an expanded role was a bad idea. I'm sure Zimmer loves his drums and sees himself as a mentor, but he showed nothing in his work to deserve such a prestigious role for this movie. Score is so bland. I think it'll work and fit the movie, but I can't get into this soundtrack and I'm the biggest Zimmer fanboy.

The BB score is my favourite of TDKT. Zimmer and Howard's work on it and on TDK is great.

I still find it funny that a bulk portion of Day of the Dead is re-using a recognisable movement from A Dark Knight from The Dark Knight score. Zimmer at it again with re-using past work.

I have to say, it's weird to me that he's gone on and on about "not wanting to betray" the TDKT scores and then drops something like that in there. I'm almost wondering if it's meant as an intentional nod. I'm not sure, but it definitely jumped right out at me when I heard it too.

Also, I'll chime in with everyone and give some love to "This is My World". Best track on the album by far IMO.

Yeah that thought certainly crossed my mind as well when hearing it. I'm not too sure if it's an intentional nod or not, but it's a funny peculiar thing that is for sure.

I also agree that This Is My World is the best track on the album. It hasn't failed to stir emotions out of me thus far.

I have to say the score has grown on me but yeah, I still prefer the MoS soundtrack.

The second half of General Zod always gets me.

In the lead up to Man of Steel, I listened to it constantly whether it was playing games or at school studying. This time around I listen to it on occasion wondering how scenes will fit music etc, but it's certainly less re-playable for me so far I guess I'd say a tad blander than the previous score. Man of Steel has a very alien and isolated feel to it at times, though it also gets boisterous and loud (overbearingly at times).

I enjoy the horror elements that I'm hearing for BvS and Is She With You? is a blood pumper, but until I see it in conjunction with the film, a lot of the score is serviceable for me bar a few select tracks.

Same here. It is so enjoyable... it was the first comic book movie Zimmer did and it feels fresh.

I wish Snyder had gotten another composer to score BvS, someone who could expand upon Zimmer's material in a meaningful way, i.e. Elfman in Avengers 2 which did a marvelous job building on Silvestri's original version.

Maybe I'll enjoy the score more if it works fine in the movie, but IDK...

Yea BvS not being upto MoS levels overall is actually a testament to how incredible MoS score was. If MoS didn't exist BvS is the clear winner by light years.

I will say I always wanted somebody different scoring these movies. Even though Zimmer did an admirable job with Man of Steel, I was ready for something completely different after Nolan's trilogy.

I do wonder what Junkie would have done if left completely to his own devices. I just think Zimmer has played a little too much in this superhero world and is starting to become ever so slightly stale.
