Checking in... don't want to peruse too much since I haven't finished the third book. I luckily found this series last fall. I was never a HP fan but when I came across the Less Than Zero meets HP quote about book 1, I was in.

The show is really solid. My 'reader' brain doesn't like somethings but I don't feel hindered by it other than the Janet name change and Fogg being 'injured'.

For the folks not liking Q, he's actually more of a piss-ant in the first novel and slight fool in the second. If anything, they make him a bit less of those in the show. I like how the actor plays off his weird disdain but awkward timidness with solutions. I can't wait for that to pay off later down the line.

Q/Elliot/Alice are almost perfect from what I 'imagined'. Penny is a bit too Kravitz and not enough SLC in my mind. I do love the Chitin flashbacks/dreams, really neat. Everyone/thing else is either decent or ok for now.

At this point, I'd rather they go off in their own direction more after this episode since my main issues are it barreling through the book plot so much in just 3 episodes. When these books are so rich, each novel could be 3-4 seasons on their own. Considering each novel has 4 parts...

I like that the show (and perhaps the books which I haven't read so I don't actually know) isn't afraid to get a bit wacky (but not stupid or for toddlers) and pushes the fantasy elements. Reminds me of how Buffy the Vampire Slayer used to be. Show's growing on me.

I just watched the first 4 episodes On Demand. I thought the pilot was oddly paced, but that ending completely sold me on it. That was cool. The next three were pretty good. Keeps getting better!

I like that Syfy allows f-bombs even if they're muted.

So far my favorite episodes, it's only 4 in though.
Anyways, Q is starting to grow on me, rest of the crew as well, I particular like that the "goth" girl ( the brunette with revealing outfit ) is not as weak minded as she seems.
I'm rather intrigued with Juli's path to magic, I guess it will be hard and dark.

Elliot and Margo are just hilarious. The parts about Penny having a future in gay porn and the others having to take turns blowing the horse were just great. The last one I need in gif form. Sawyer?

I thought last nights episode was the best of the season. I liked the series before but I'm totally in now.

The chemistry and little things like body language jokes between the actors is crazy good, considering they're only a few episodes in.

It's just so fun and engaging.

I love all of the character development between Q/Penny, Q/Alice, and Elliot/Margot.

Such show is rocking...

Yeah, it really went dark. Still, really enjoyed Quentin being the uber geek in the beginning. And his interactions with Penny continues to be great.

I love this show... good thing I finished book 3 this week since they blade was brought up last night.

They also played out the Q cheating on Alice perfectly, as well as her and Penny 'getting along' for the next steps to play out.

Its crazy how much these actors are these characters. Eliot is astounding, Q is wonderful, Alice is perfect, and Penny has gotten better and better. I'm still frustrated Margo is not Janet in name because she's player her to a T.

Another great episode last night. On most shows there is always a couple storylines I'm uber bored by. I find everyone's story very good Q and his crew are getting ready for the beast. While Julia's are looking to make contact with a God.
