I always wonder where all the viewers went after they merged WB/UPN, because UPN would average around 3-4mill and WB ranged from 4-7 on average.

I think it's a combination of being mismanaged(the previous show runner seemed to love her ****ty girl shows like Gossip Girls and 90210 and that just drove the low expectations of the network down the tank) and TV in general has seen a decrease in ratings across all networks.

GG and 90210 did help keep the network a float though. 90210 was big when it started and GG started the whole dvr/itunes tv drive.

GG more so then 90210 started the trend of how low a show can rate on the CW yet still get renewed. GG was the first show to get sub 2M viewers and sub 1.5M viewers yet be renewed. I would argue both shows practically dragged down their Monday nights as well(and Tuesday until Supernatural got placed there this season)

Here is the CW ratings for shows in 2006/7

http://www.webcitation.org/5n54XcmOW

112. America's Next Top Model 8 5.4 2.6/7 (81)
112. America's Next Top Model 7 5.4 2.6/7 (81)
120. Friday Night Smackdown! 4.5 1.5/5 (125)
125. Smallville 4.1 1.7/5 (121)
127. Beauty And The Geek 4.0 1.9/5 (112)
129. Gilmore Girls 3.7 1.7/4 (121)
129. Celebrity Duets 3.7 1.4/3 (130)
131. Reba 3.6 1.3/3 (133)
133. 7th Heaven 3.3 1.2/3 (136)
134. Supernatural 3.1 1.3/3 (133)
135. Pussycat Dolls Present 3.0 1.4/3 (130)
136. One Tree Hill 2.9 1.3/3 (133)
137. Everybody Hates Chris 2.7 1.1/3 (137)
138. Veronica Mars 2.5 1.1/3 (137)
138. Girlfriends 2.5 1.1/3 (137)
138. All Of Us 2.4 1.0/3 (141)
141. The Game 2.3 1.1/2 (137)
142. Runaway 2.0 0.7/2 (142)

I actually question how they get some of these ratings because I know for first run shows of Smallville it averaged 4.6M viewers(if they factored in repeats that rating would make sense).

Of this list Gilmore Girls, 7th Heaven, Reba, Veronica Mars, All of US and Runaway got canned. Not including comedies(Everybody Hates Chris, Girlfriends and The Game) it seemed One Tree Hill at 2.9M was how low the CW would accept

Fast forward 3 seasons to 2009-10

http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/201...wership/54336/

118 Vampire Diaries CW Thu 8:00 PM 20 1.7 3,600
121 AMERICA'S Top Model-8 CW Wed 8:00 PM 11 1.5 3,288
122 AMERICA'S Top Model 7 CW Wed 8:00 PM 9 1.5 3,279
125 Supernatural CW Thu 9:00 PM 20 1.2 2,641
129 Smallville CW Fri 8:00 PM 21 1.0 2,375
130 One Tree Hill-MON CW Mon 8:00 PM 21 1.1 2,278
135 Gossip Girl-MON CW Mon 9:00 PM 21 1.1 2,018
136 Life Unexpected CW Mon VAR 13 0.9 2,012
137 90210 CW Tue 8:00 PM 20 0.9 1,820
138 MELROSE PLACE CW Tue 9:00 PM 16 0.7 1,292
139 FLY GIRLS CW Wed 9:00 PM 7 0.4 1,022
140 HIGH SOCIETY CW Wed 9:30 PM 8 0.4 883

While the last 3 shows got canned, 90210 had less then 2M viewers and got renewed.

And here is 2010/11

http://www.deadline.com/2011/05/full...eries-rankers/

126 AMERICA’S TOP MODEL-9 CW 3,468
130 THE VAMPIRE DIARIES CW 3,004
131 SMALLVILLE CW 2,698
133 AMERICA’S TOP MODEL-10 CW 2,519
134 SUPERNATURAL CW 2,470
135 NIKITA CW 2,325
136 90210 CW 1,680
137 HELLCATS CW 1,633
138 ONE TREE HILL CW 1,619
139 GOSSIP GIRL CW 1,591
140 LIFE UNEXPECTED CW 1,497
141 SHEDDING FOR THE WEDDING CW 1,038

Once again Gossip Girls and 90210 set low standards for the CW of how crappy a show can do and still get renewed(note Hellcat, Life Unexpected and Shedding for the Wedding got canned).

It should be pointed out the CW totally screwed up not picking UP Smackdown, other then putting shows that rate well other places(Smallville(Only the CW would move the top rated scripted show to Fridays) and Supernatural) Friday's has been a dud for them. As also seen in 2006/7 Dawn O basically cut alot of programming that got 3M+ viewers in favor of her wanting to mold the network into the image of Gossip Girls

If this show is about The 100 vs Man-Apes and The Toxic Avengers. I'll watch the s**t out of it... If its Lord of the Flies. (The way it kinda looks like it is.)

Meh.

The main girl and the sister were hot as hell though.

Just started watching it...oh hey look it's Felix from Battlestar Galactica and he was also in Man of Steel. I've seen Gaius Baltar in Arrow. Will post more thoughts after I finish it. lol

Strong debut. I really like the blond lead character. Like someone pointed out earlier. So far there's not a lot of likable characters. Saw some familiar faces from Continuum and April O'Neal from the 2nd and 3rd turtles movies.

Well I liked it. Anyone looking for a real science show I think though is going to be out of luck.

Yeah there's some turd nugget characters but we're supposed to not like most of them anyway. It's by design.

That season promo! Wow!

Obviously we're supposed to like the main character, Clarke, and I think Wells, the Chancellor's son.

I did spot "Julian" (Richard Harmon) from Continuum as part of the cast as well.

Oh yeah and Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond) from Lost is the prominent adult villain in the pilot.

Episode 2 tonight. Apparently the rerun of the pilot did pretty decent numbers last night.

Another good episode, though I still hate majority of these people. Can't wait till half of them gain some sense and stand up to their new leader. His sidekick can't get killed fast enough.

They did a good job with the butterflies and panther or whatever that thing was.

Yep many young people are dumb, just go watch teens on Youtube doing stupid ass stunts all the time. Jumping off roofs on bikes. Drunk and drug partying. Choking each other to get high, etc. That's a lot of The 100. Perhaps most of them. They're easy to hate.

Anyway the second episode was all right.

Everytime I wanted to like the show, I think of the "We're back, Bit$che$!!!" scene and pretty much every decision that girl makes. It was just so cringe-worthy.

The lead blonde chick is alright though, she's not annoying yet.
