Now I need to rewatch that old episode where Mac and Frank go clubbing and Frank tries to show Mac "the move."

I'm pretty sure I loved this episode but my enjoyment of it was not as it should have been due to my FXX channel bugging out on me the whole time. I kept getting digital distortion and it made it hard to focus on the funny. Guess I'll rewatch it OnDemand or something

Last episode was boring and relied way too heavily on past episodes' jokes.

Yes. It's very lazy writing and unoriginal content.

Week before was hilarious. This week was weak.

That's a yes too. It's my opinion. Not every episode can be or is gold. The people that eat up every episode of anything and everything are the ones that get hot and bothered. I love this show enough to know when it's not good and when it is good.

I liked this week's episode but I do agree that they shouldn't go the callback route in every episode. We've all seen the show, we all know what happened. Just give us a new scheme for the gang to ruin.

Considering you praised last week's mediocre episode, while condemning this week's great one... no, I really don't think you do.

I know it's probably just me, but when they were back at the bar after getting out of the water all I could do was state at Mac's hair.

I enjoy callbacks when they're done right. In this instance I thought it was pitch perfect. There are very few callbacks in this show that I think aren't done well.

What past jokes exactly was the episode relying on? It was really more of a meta examination about how the show went from fairly grounded. Like how the characters were fairly normal, albeit slightly horrible human beings, to Charlie having some form retardation, and Mac being gay, or Dennis being a sociopath.

I've really, super gotten into this show in the last month (I know a decade late, but better late than never). Getting all the classic episodes on iTunes. If you have any recommendations let me know (maybe lesser known recs, as I've already caught up on all the really acclaimed top-10 list classics, eg: nightman cometh, hundred dollar baby, etc).

I found Dee to be weirdly hot in the last episode.

I always find Dee to be weirdly hot. I'm watching this episode again, it's so damn good. Dennis flipping the hell out about how weird everybody has become and just reinforcing how weird they've become is a god damn work of art.

I remember that they started off fairly normal if mildly reprehensible. It's been brilliant how they have slowly but steadily become more unhinged and increasingly despicable people. You don't see it until you go back to the beginning and binge watch. I think the finale will culminate in either all their deaths and/or they hit the apex of their dysfunction and cause some kind of serious incident that forever leaves them all reviled people.
