Oh man, I wish it had Turtles in Time as well. Also Aladdin, Power Rangers.

I am definitely gonna grab this and hope they do pre-orders. Mario RPG is one of my all time favorites, I have it on an emulator but yeah I want the real deal. Also Star Fox 2 and Yoshis Island hell yes.

Problem is, Turtles in Time is impossible due to licensing ( or at least way, way more difficult than is worthwhile ). You don't need to just talk to Konami, but also to whoever currently holds to TMNT rights.

As for Final Fight? Remember, the SNES never got a good Final Fight port. Both versions of the original game were seriously cut down, lacking two player, one of the characters, and IIRC an entire level.

I suspect they decided that, given the two most era-iconic beat-em-ups were not going to happen? There wasn't any point wasting a slot ( and a third party slot, at that ) on a second tier game. Not when there were so many other choices that would be either much more iconic, and/or in-house.

Read an hour ago that Nintendo stated the classic shipments are only planned for 2017. So, if that holds true, it will be discontinued on or before December 31, 2017. I need an HDMI SNES. Hopefully I'll actually be able to get one. Surely they're going to produce more...right!? I mean they have an extra month and a half of the holiday season compared to the NES. Not that October is really considered as part of the season, but you know what I mean. Will probably leave my house 5:45AM that day.

Nintendo has said both that the production ends this year, *and* that they will produce notably more than they did for the NES Classic. So. . . yes, sort of?

Go here, and it set up pre-order reminders for Amazon or Best Buy.

VC stands for Virtual Console, which let you buy and play digital versions of classic NES/SNES/Gameboy games on the Wii U and 3DS.

so far, however, the VC has not been added to the Switch, which is unfortunate because there are some classic NES/SNES games that I want to play now on my Switch.

some of those games I want to play will show up on the SNES Mini.....but still.......

Live it up fellas.

In the wake of the SNES Classic reveal, the biggest news to come out of it (outside of its existence) was the fact that the previously unreleased Star Fox 2 will be coming out on the console. As it turns out, the original development team had no idea that the game was coming out until the rest of the world found out, according to Kotaku. As such, they decided to throw their own launch party, a picture of which made its way to Reddit.
Here's the picture:

Star Fox 2 was canned by Nintendo despite success from the first game because, at the time, the original PlayStation and Sega Saturn had recently launched and were bringing added graphical prowess to the 3D space. As a result, the thought process was that Star Fox 2's retro 3D style would compare poorly to the games that were pouring out on other platforms, so the game was shelved.
Fortunately, times have changed, and retro is sexy, so there has never been a better time for Star Fox 2 to hit the market finally.

I want to believe they learned from that NES Mini debacle, but I don't know. The blotching on that was on another different level.

hmm while other's saying Nintendo have learn their lesson and they may have. EPN.tv mentioned from Nintendo the they are company with finite resource. when it comes to these thing as the snes classic. and their priority right now is the switch still. As stated below in the first segment in this video of the run down.

SNES Classic Will Be Easier to Find - The Rundown - Electric Playground

Published on 06/27/2017

Today in the Rundown, we have good news for anyone hoping to get their hands on the SNES Classic! We also have the latest on Final Fantasy XV DLC, delicious news
about the new Tremors TV series, details on how Apple might be getting closer to making their VR or AR hardware, bad news for Google, and finally, some interesting rumours about a Superman: Red Son movie adaptation!

source: EPN.tv

so translation anyone that see it in front of them and they have the money to get do it please do so, as soon as you possibly can for your self . Cause the likely hood is still is it'll possibly like end like the one before it , even though more are being produced.

So anyone else don't think it'll be there sitting on shelf in a retail store past this year.

My hope is that part of why the NES Classic production was ended so seemingly abruptly, was to support a swift tool-over to making SNES Classics. The idea being to have enough production through those three months of sale to actually keep them in stock reliably the whole time.

I admit, this is scant evidence to hope for better availability.

I'd pay decent money if they did a hybrid version. If Nintendo made a multi-system console (NES/SNES/N64) like https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/r...e-console-cool with at least 20 games for each system, I'd be all over it.

really dislike nintendo's practices when distributing these items
just frustrating for fans or for people wanting that nostalgia feeling or even introducing these games to new generations

but nope, gotta make sure scalpers and flippers get theirs

It's horrible, I was sleeping because I have work today 5 am (I'm at work now). I woke up at 4 am to get ready for work and got the email that wal mart has their pre orders up. I go and of course I'm hours late because I was sleeping and it's sold out. Probably to a bunch of bots and scalpers. Such ********. Hoping some pre orders go up elsewhere soon and at a reasonable time. I work 6 days a week.

The Walmart preorder stayed up for about 40 minutes, and had a purchase limit of 2. Those are both very promising signs, both in terms of units available and in terms of the retailers trying to restrict bulk purchases.

I'd bet 15 myself, but its a dicey proposition. Fewer games ( overall, third party, and good ), an iffier generation for staying power ( early 3D polygons tend to suck ), and a very dubious controller that is nonetheless hard-coded to the games.
