I think DOFP is the best. The comic story has always been a favorite and I think the film was just very well executed. It had a great balance of drama, action, and humor. My criticism of it would be that at times it stayed in familiar territory and it would have been more exciting if they tried something a little different. A little more action during the climax would have been nice too.

X2 and FC are pretty close though.

People didn't want to give Singer credit for FC in an attempt to show that Vaughn did it all on his own and is better for X-Men than Singer.

Just like some didn't want to give Vaughn credit credit for the DoFP story so that they can blame Singer for everything they don't like about the film. It' endless.

In reality, both directors directed each others story.
