Where? I assumed something like that, but I never saw any reference to anything like that in the game at all. Everyone just seemed like they'd never stopped fighting 'em..

I'm like 90% sure Cortana makes the assumption and is later affirmed by the passengers aboard Infinity. The only reason I have 10% of doubt is that you have made me doubt myself. Haha

Cortana becomes the villain. Her rampancy/insanity is obviously the cause, and this justifies her turning against humanity...possibly others, including the Covenant. By Halo 6, the final battle will be between Chief and Cortana.

Just a thought, considering the Prometheans were meh and the Covenant have been done already.

What I Would Like In Halo 5:

-Regeneration Field that heals your teammates,but drains your enemies lives.

-Jet Pack that flies higher and longer.

-Light Shield,make it a weapon with a energy level where everytime it blocks something the energy level goes down.

-Steroid Armor,where you have roid rage and can kill someone with one hit with anything,but someone can kill you with one hit of anything too.

-Phoenix Armor where you can pull out a flamethrower.

-Ghost Armor where you phase through vehicles that are about to splatter you and weapons that shoot at you.

-Grapple Hook,that shoots like the sticky detonator,but a grapple shoots across and sticks to something and zips you across.

-Sticky Detonator doesn't fade away after awhile after you shoot it.

-Frog Armor that makes you have super jump.Be able to jump over buildings.

-Teleport Armor that makes you teleport.A screen pops up and you can push any four buttons,the green button,blue button,red button,or the yellow button.And you teleport in the location of where the color button on the map is.

-Better looking armor.Make each one look alot different from each one.Show bigger full body pictures on the loading screen of your armor before each match.

-On Campaign let us use our own armor and not just the master chief one.It's more fun to see your friends in their own armor playing.

-More types of vehicles on multiplayer.

There's a hard light shield in the game isn't there? Don't know if you mean something different to that.

Love the sound of Ghost Armour. Would be great against people dominating in vehicles. Teleport Armour could be interesting as well.

I'd like to see player 2 - 4 be able to use their own armour. Would make 4 player co-op campaign look even better. I'd probably prefer whoever was playing as Master Chief to wear the default armour though.

Yeah there is a light shield in the game,but instead of it being a armor that last a couple of seconds.It should just be a weapon that you can pull out that has a energy bar that goes down everytime the shield is hit.Kinda like how the gravity hammer has a energy bar that goes down every time you use it.

I'd like it if there was some sort of BASIC free running integrated. So you can actually climb and jump over ****.

So with the new consoles coming out so soon there must be pressure to have a Halo game not too far away from the early period of the next Xbox. Wonder just how early this could be. I never would have expected Assassin's Creed to go annual after III so I guess anything can happen.

A couple years ago, MS said that they were hoping to do a game every year or two now instead of every 3-5 years like with the earlier installments.

EDIT:

I found it - they said they won't necessarily do one every year (although they have with Halo 3 (2007) Halo Wars (2008), Halo 3: ODST (2009), Halo: Reach (2010), Halo Anniversary (2011), Halo 4 (2012)) but every 3 years isn't frequent enough.

Every year is probably a bit too often but 2 years is fine and 18 months is probably even ok. Although really if the quality is there people will probably still buy it every year.
