Matt Gerald would of been s good Whirlwind if he wasn't already playing Gladiator on Daredevil.

I'm all for Egghead as the big bad and either Whirlwind or Beetle as the heavy so we can get some interesting set pieces. We can't just have a mastermind. We need a villain who can be a physical threat.

It's Whirlwind.
This is Gladiator, and I'm unsure if Marvel Studios has the rights to use him. http://marvel.com/universe/Gladiator_(Kallark)

This is Gladiator: ![]() And Marvel do have the rights to use him. They've already used Melvin Potter in the DD Netflix series and hinted at the costume. What you've posted is a completely different Gladiator often associated with the X-Men or Fantastic Four. But since we were already talking about Gladiator in Daredevil, that's obviously not him. It even says in that entry you posted "Gladiator (Kallark)".

Isn't the actor on the left there the same guy who played Mevlin Potter, though?

I wish he had made the cut. he was supposed to be in the first movie. my new casting pick for Whirlwind is Matt Schulze; a Gerald-level character actor who mostly plays villains and/or tough guys. I could see him capturing Dave's creepy stalker vibe. I would have him be muscle for A.I.M. and his "powers" would be a product of their science; some kind of interesting looking wearable flight harness/wind generator. it'd be detachable on the action figure. they can't make him a mutant. and I don't want to go back to the Inhuman well. I'd just say that A.I.M altered his physiology to improve his balance, bone density, prevent him getting vertigo, motion sickness, etc. maybe there's something over his eyes that acts as an oculus rift.

yes, he has attacked Daredevil while under Purple Man's control. he was often paired with other low-level Daredevil villains (like Leapfrog and Stilt-Man).

http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix4/gladiatorpotter.htm ^there's a good summary of his appearances at that link. he was in like 2 issues of Iron Man. the rest of them were Daredevil appearances.

He was a Maggia type guy. Then Roger McKenzie and Frank Miller brought him back (and named him Melvin Potter, fwiw) and established that he's actually mentally ill. Then he reformed and went clean for awhile. He occasionally was forced to go back to villainy (particularly when his wife was captured).
During Ed Brubaker's run (which is probably what Muze is thinking of), Mr. Fear used his chemicals to make him go crazy again. He might still be in a sort of psychological break, depending on when the Annual backup story written by McKenzie takes place.

So I was thinking about the potential villain and had the thought, with the film presumably centered on rescuing Janet from the Microverse, why not have someone else equally interested in a rescue mission show up as the antagonist? Enter Augustine Cross. While Darren Cross was never mentioned as having any kids in the original film, maybe they can pass him off as an illegitimate child, nonetheless detirmined to find his father, with the help of his uncle Crossfire. (Casting Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Coby Bell)

I'd rather see Elias Starr than Augustine Cross; personally.

so is the movie being written yet?
If the villain doesn't shrink, I guess we'll have to see what his or her powers are. |

I hope it's not about a shrink vs. grow battle. I hope that other types of villains can come into play. also have an international setting.
