Not sure what the point was of mentioning shows that weren't superhero shows, lol.

Never saw it, but from what I heard he wasn't even the main character in his own series.

Loved the trailer. Loved the set-up, loved the cast.

Like others I just hate the overwrought suit.

Even Miles Quade had a more subtle suite in 70s Earthquake!

Yes Richard Roundtree inspiration for the original Black Lightning suit.

That trailer looks good, but I'm disappointed by the lack of connection. It could have been the next most grounded show in that universe. Not knowing the character, but I'm not sure I know what would get me interested.

I don't see why they aren't connecting this to the Arrowverse.

hmm seeing that I seen some cosplayer's perform some awesome feats on costume's of late . I'm not sure what to make of that statement. beside's the old Simpson's joke of the fat dude in the costume he should know better that it doesn't look right on him.

but I do agree though it looks bulky in the wrong places and not the best looking costume .

The costume(s) and effects are horrible. But the rest of the trailer was really good. I especially liked the imagery of him bleeding in the tub. Powerful stuff.

They really should've kept his "original" costume. But the trailer looks really good and really different. But it sucks that it wont be allowed to interact with Flarrowgirl due to shooting in Atlanta.

Where is BlackVulcan? He should be like the Ja Rule of this thread. We need to get his thoughts on that trailer.

The flashing neon lightning bolts on the front of the costume are an.....interesting, design choice. The show looks ok though, hopefully he has more interesting villains to face than the basic bangers in the trailer.

The big bad is probably gonna be Tobias Whale, he's kinda like Kingpin. I hope he's in the Supergirl universe because Suicide Slums is in Metropolis. Then we can have more cameos from Superman and get some intergang down the line.

but katana and mepta morpho they're on earth one and his connection to oliver. he grew in suicide slums, but he didn't stay there.

Jefferson also met Superman and Black Canary before the case had closed. This also led him to meet Green Arrow as well; with these two acknowledging a kindred spirit in wishing to see political change.

Black Lightning's next year would be one of his most tumultuous. He began by reuniting with his Outsiders friend, Metamorpho to clean up an old Outsiders case involving the "human bomb " called Fuse. Katana also joined them on this case.

His affiliation with Green Arrow would be his most pivotal. First, his niece, Joanna, was killed after becoming a lawyer in one of Arrow's cases. At the conclusion of this, Black Lightning was responsible for the death of Joanna's killer, Martin Somers — or so he believed. In truth, Deathstroke had seen the whole incident and made the killing blow himself, but he allowed Lightning to believe he'd caused the death.

Jeff blamed Ollie in part for Joanna's death (the two of them had been intimate) but they were soon forced into action together again when attacked by Dr. Light. Light was acting in retaliation to the Justice League's erasing his memories years before. Jefferson then revealed to Ollie that the Department of Defense had evidence of the JLA's habit of mind wiping villains (which he discovered while serving on Luthor's cabinet).

yea I'm also aware the black canary and death stroke won't happen I'm not talking about that. But black lighting forming the outsiders him self with those two should happen. since they are in earth one . it's happened before in other mediums

Best guess? They want to avoid any pressure of crossovers. It seems silly. They should at least keep the door open to one, even if they never do it.

Well, the movies are theoretically somewhere in the multiverse. The question is whether they'll ever cross over or be acknowledged.

Plus, this is a much more grounded show, it seems, than Supergirl. It's more jarring to go dimension hopping.

let see how this show does I like saying things are always subject to change things are always possible. black light will have better connection to earth one and the fact he's a pshyic's major makes a good fit for the flash too

and him and caitlin if cure or if Ronnie come back find a new partner to form his own version and she get therapy, but is still allowed to cut loose as the hero Frost they can can create off shoot for star labs dedcated to help meta's that just don't to be criminals but just want to control powers or be come heroes.

these are from DC lore where fire storm is involved

based on it

at least non will hoow star labs ismaking mone cause with that

it was explain in the anmated series
another place even Japanes anime which we know the writers of flash watch do it though it make no sens why they refuse to apply it inthe live action show. point is caitlin and black lighting can found and co director of the school too. I know I'm getting head of my self but it makes sense inv alot more ways then he being on earth 38 super girls earth.

Director

but when Clark asked how the school stays in business, the director said it was a combination of alumni support, private donors, and secret government funding.

I'm actually kind of excited about this show... In fact... to tell you the honest truth, I think Black Lightning should have gotten a movie over Cyborg having a solo run, as unlike the latter, Black lightning isn't perpetually tied to a team.

I'm wondering what villains they'll use... I don't know too many of Black Lightning's rouges outside of Tobias Whale...and even he only got exposure on Beware the Batman

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3enlwggYs0

I'll echo that I'm not that fond of the costume (I feel there's too much going on), but heck, I'll take what I can get.

the reason it happened is that cyborg since super friend has been shown more often since then . and in the books the head Geoff johns is champion cyborg which goes a long way . Geoff john's is champion black light as well but the latter more recent. cyborg was prior. it's just how it is .

Ah right, I only know Tobias Whale from the most recent Batman toon, he'd provide a good central villain for the show. Was he in Black Lightning's books?

The suit is certainly faithfull in general, it's the big plastic looking glowing bolts I think look a bit garish.

he was n't like the king pin though hunter. the kinpin formerly was like a insane version of what red in the black list is with his connection to the under world internationally that rivals and put hydra to shame and un like red he's not helping to get ride of other criminals way worse then him self of the serial killer verity and more . you know what i mean. tobia just ran a town like it was simlar to city with out looking like it was about to fall part like what happening in arrow.

Can someone sell me on this show? I'm not a huge DC guy, but I watched the 90s Batman animated series as well as Justice League Unlimited. Is there anything I would recognize in this show? Is Black Lightning's rogue's gallery compelling in and of itself.
