Batman casting thread for Man Of Steel 2 - Part 5

Hamm can get in shape for the role. Maybe not to level of Statham's build but maybe at least like Downey did for IM.

While we wait for more official news, here's another new suggestion.

Eddie Cibrian (40 years old, 6'2)



I know he's only done TV shows and movies, and sort of a B or C list actor, but he's got the look. In the cancelled show The Playboy Club his character was very Bruce Wayne like.

I don't think he has as much pull as Crowe as far as saying he won't work out and having a corset made for him. But, then again he isn't as fat as Crowe too.

Seriously I'm obsessed with Batman on film. I follow every single tidbit of news obsessively, and have done so since I was about 9 years old before Batman Begins came out.

I think if anyone could understand this it's you guys, but Batman/DC movies are my life. I would be so disappointed and frankly devastated if Orlando Bloom or Scott Adkins were cast as Batman. Casting Batman is an incredibly serious matter for me. If one of those guys were cast, this Superman/Batman movie, the thing I've anticipated and impatiently waited for since I first knew who the characters were, would be ruined in my eyes. I'd be genuinely sad.

Please WB. Don't do something like this, make the right choice. Get Hamm, Fassbender, Brolin or someone of that calibre, someone who could compare to Bale. Don't ruin mine and thousands of other die hard comic book fans' dreams. We' re in a desperate position, we care so much but we can't do anything about the process. Please don't mess this movie up.

the casting of a new Batman is the single most interesting piece of comic book movie news since they announced Christian Bale as Batman in '03, this is such an exciting ****ing time,but I'm getting so nervous with all these terrible casting rumors.

I wanted Superman to disappear on him like he does to everyone. But, then they had Catwoman do it.

Oh yeah! I think Batman is actually the closest thing to an "American Ninja" so whoever gets cast has to be believable, that he has stealth abilities... actually, Scott Adkins has played a Ninja. Lol
The title of the film was "Ninja". He didn't speak much in the movie of course.

Yeah, there are so many great little moments like that in Nolan's films that, unbeknownst to some, were actually taken straight from the comics.

BTW, that depiction of Bruce, as illustrated by Ross, looks a lot like an older Wes Bentley. Just saying..

My preconceived notion, after seeing him in several films, is that he is totally wrong for Batman. He is a fair/decent actor, but IMO he is not capable of pulling off Batman/Bruce Wayne. That calls for an A lister, or at least someone with better range.
Sure, Bloom could be the best thing since ledger in the role, but he could also be as bad as RR in GL. why risk it.
I dont know about you, but for me, I want the casting to start off right and not have thousands of fans grabbing pitchforks and torches, ready to march on WB.
I'm a superman fan first, but since batman is going to be in this also, I care about who gets the role, and I dont get a good vibe from Bloom in the role of batman, not even a little bit.

I think that's because he is a conceited douchebag. I haven't seen proof otherwise.

As for this Orlando Bloom thing. I don't hate him like other people do and I think he is just fine in Pirates and LOTR but he just isn't a lead actor.
