Totally agree that the journey is almost always the most fun, no matter what the event is.
I can still watch any TDK or TDKR trailer and get swept up in all those emotions I felt when I first saw them, when my mind was just swirling with all the possibilites. I have cherished the build-up to these films possibly moreso than the films themselves. And feel truly grateful that these films have made Batman a constant topic of discussion and excitement amongst all my casual/non-comics fan friends. It's really become something that I've bonded over with so many people. It's gone from me being the one-Batman obsessed guy in my group of friends (pre-Begins) to it being the norm to have a Batman obsession. That never ceases to blow my mind. And the beauty of it is, I suspect as long as the reboot is good, they'll all stay interested.

It was good movie all this nitpicking was just troll being trolls, every movie has its flaws but it doesn't mean it's not a good movie.
One thing I have to disagree with (and I probably going to some heat for this) that alot people are say this is the greatest movie of all time, that being said I do think it is One of the greatest movies of all time. |

Damn where have you guys been? I always feel like I'm one of the few trying to explain why the nitpicks and purported "plot holes" are not what people make them out to be. And I've said many times that TDK can be dissected much more than TDKR.

TDKR had flaws, obvious flaws, but they weren't a big deal. That's why I do agree with some that this may be on of the greatest BATMAN films of them all. But one of the greatest movies of ANY film? That's pushing it. Maybe in the top 100 or top 50, but not top 10 or 20

While Nolan has said that he is done with Batman, Bale has said that he would do another one ONLY if Chris Nolan came to him with a script/story that was worth telling. But its safe to say this is the end of the Nolan Bat films.

How did Batman do it? Perhaps it's best we just not know for once. When you question things like that, you underestimate him. Just know that it was The Batman who did all of that, and that should be a good enough reason for anyone. |

Yes, well worth wait. At some point towards the end of June I didn't pick up an internet card, because I had to avoid all spoilers.
I went on an internet and all media break (BTW, I cleared my head, and now I am no longer addicted to the internet and TV and other social networks, which is a blessing) I went into the movie clean. The only time I popped on the internet was to find out the runtime, and to check showtimes. Seeing all three movies in a row of the trilogy at my favorite theater (AMC 14, Franklin Mills, Philadelphia) was the best way to experience it. I didn't see any reviews, or read any backlash until today. It was the same way I approached TDK.

I feel the way people anticipated wasn't worth it, but when the movie finally came out, it was worth every penny it was getting
![]() Believe it or not when I first saw it opening day, after Bruce made the jump to the ledge, I swear EVERYONE in the theater jumped out of their seats and screamed "YEAAAAAH!" and applauded. I have NEVER seen an entire audience react like that and I am so glad I was a part of it |

I think anticipation is a dangerous thing. In moderation it can be good, but I nearly ruined TDK for myself by hanging around here.
I was watching a clip of Michael Caine teaching an acting for film workshop. He said he never views the rushes after a performance. The reason is that everyone who views rushes looks only at what they're doing. The makeup looks at makeup. The DP looks at the lighting and composition. It's dangerous to view something without seeing it in its proper context. I feel like that's a good analogy for what happens here sometimes. People focus on individual situations and scenes, and it harms their ability to view them within the context of the film. I stayed away from here deliberately after TDK and for the buildup to TDKR, and I enjoyed the movie much more for it.

Because they're the plot holes we deserve as Batman-Nolan fans, but not the one's we need right now. So we'll take em, and rationalize them, because we can. Because they don't have to make sense, but we can accept them within the scope of suspended disbelief.

Of course it was. The movie was much better than i expected. Everything i could have hoped , being a Batman fan for so long.
Nolan is also a huge director , so success always bring petty criticism . People need to move on , and dont care so much what some average joe thinks about it in the web . As a Batman fan , i never thought i would ever see a closing chapter so good. The sensation is magnificent. Last edited by Tequilla; 08-12-2012 at 04:00 PM. |

I was trying to stay as far away from spoilers and discussions as I could. I remember that I didn't even check the trailers because I wanted to be surprised.
However, a month before it finally hit the theaters I was doing some Bat-related stuff like reading comics, watching Batman TAS again and playing Batman Arhkam City. I was really hyped to see the movie although I knew nothing about it. When I finally saw it I was mindblown. Catwoman looked amazing, Bane was horrifying and Batman... Batman was more Batman than he had ever been in the previous movies. I remember when I saw the moment where Bane was revealed to be the son of Ras Al Ghul I was like "C'mon! Bane is no son of Ras... Ras has a daughter!" But I was still willing to accept whatever changes Nolan needed to do for his movies. And when in the end Miranda was revealed to be Talia, which I did not see coming at all, I was almost jumping in my seat like "Yes, yes!.... This twist was amazing! At the very end of the movie I was sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see if Batman was going to make it or not! For a moment I got really depressed that he had indeed died, although that would've been a great ending as well. Finally, when I saw him alive at the cafee with Selina... I felt a warm feeling of great satisfaction. I mean for me personally that was the best ending this trilogy could've had and the movie instantly became my most favourite Batman one. So, was the anticipation worth it? Yes, absolutely! |

Activity here at the boards might be slow now but they're soon to bounce back with the DVD/BR release.
If anything I think posters are still soaking up the movie I know I am, currently I'm reading the novelization, listening to the soundtrack, rewatching BB and TDK so it's a good time right now. I think the Spider-Man threads have cooled off even sooner that I was expecting.
