Default Incredible Hulk DVD

Howdy y'all
Found a few images of the artwork for the Incredible Hulk DVD, and I didn't notice any DVD threads.. (Region 2 DVD artwork - but region 1 shouldn't be too different)

This is the standard artwork (by the looks of it)

and this is a Play.com(UK) exclusive steelbook of the same original artwork:

http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/34238...k/Product.html

Looks like they're only doing a 2 disc edition like they did with Spider-man 2
(though I don't see why it's a 'Special' edition if it's the only available version...)

Out for release on 13/10/08! :bh:

Incredible Hulk definitely feels like it's completely forgotten. They still reference it every once in a while, but it also feels as if it's not the same Bruce Banner/Hulk (obvious actor and CGI model differences aside).

I don't agree. It firmly feels like part of the MCU to me. I think this perception really only stems from it being the highest profile actor change and he has no sequel. But, the MCU embraces the movie and it feels like an organic part of Banner's journey in the MCU to me.

The presence of Ross and his major role in the MCU carries on the film's legacy. So to me 2008 Hulk feels very much a part of this now. And like someone says they still do certain homages to it. It would be nice to see Betty Ross though.

I’d like to see Betty again, but not Liv Tyler.

Her and Ed Norton are the only two casting flubs Marvel has ever made IMO.

They should get Jen Garner to play betty

I liked liv Tyler but I associate her with Ed Norton (who I also enjoyed) and wouldn’t be able to shake that

I actually would be ok if they show Liv Tyler Betty gets wiped out by the snap while Ross was talking to her. That would take Ross's character to a whole other level.

So we'd then have a 13 Going on 30 reunion for Garner and Ruffalo.

I liked Norton as Banner.

I don't know. It feels so distant at this point and the continuity is so loose with references ala the Burton Batman films to the Schumacher Batman films. They kept certain actors and reference some events but that's about it. Val Kilmer Batman does not feel like Michael Keaton Batman in the same way Mark Ruffalo Hulk does not feel like Edward Norton Hulk.

I would actually love to see an actual Hulk origin flashback like the comics (big gamma explosion test site) and not just a quick reference to the TV show origin (strapped to a chair) like in the opening credits.

What about the events of TIH doesn't line-up with other films?

I never said it doesn't line up, but it is so loose in the sense that you can skip Incredible Hulk and it doesn't affect any of the other films in the MCU. It's just there.

Meaning if you don't watch Iron Man or Captain America: First Avenger before Avengers, it would lessen the movie. Not so with Incredible Hulk as the Ruffalo Hulk is kind of his own thing not dependent on the Hulk movie.

That has more to do with the recast and lack of a sequel than anything else. I could have said the same about Ant-Man for example. But it is getting a sequel, so it is no longer the case. But while Ant-Man is in CW, how much did his movie influence CW or IW outside 1 passing reference/exchange? Which is about what TIH got in TA.

Recently repurchased this on Blu-Ray with the Steelbook cover. Still among my top MCU films, right alongside Iron Man and Winter Soldier. And I would've been very curious to see what more would've been done with the role if Norton in particular had remained.

I may be crazy but I think as much as I love Ruffalo's Hulk that this version of Hulk has my favorite design. He's not only muscular but lean and cut. He looks like the perfected human physique. I love the Avengers Hulk but his ape like movements and walking don't work as well for me.

I liked Norton as well.

I also like the movie despite it's middling reception. Hulk has always been one of my favorites

One of my favorites too. The pacing is among the best of all MCU films, great action, and LOADED with Easter eggs. Only thing missing was that damn deleted gun scene, which I felt would've added some levity.

I remember vague rumors about a Norton cut of the film with some people claiming to have seen it. A test screening perhaps?

I am still curious what was edited out and just sort of what all went on behind the scenes in this first Marvel Studio's production. There were a number of things I read that sort of turned me off of Marvel films for a while (although to be fair didn't keep up on films/TV in general really at all 2007-2013 just for other reasons anyway).

Anyone know if that cut was actually much better from a singular film standpoint?
