I was wondering if they'd have him as divorced or as a widower.

At least she is a part of the main cast and not dead and buried when the show begins.

‘Black Lightning’: Christine Adams Cast As Jefferson’s Ex-Wife Lynn In the CW Pilot

EXCLUSIVE: Christine Adams is set for a co-starring role opposite Cress Williams, Nafessa Williams and China Anne McClain in Black Lightning, the CW’s DC drama pilot from Greg Berlanti, Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil.

DC Comics

Written by Akil and Brock Akil, based on the DC character created by Tony Isabella with Trevor Von Eeden, and to be directed by Akil, Black Lightning centers on Jefferson Pierce (Williams). He made his choice: He hung up the suit and his secret identity years ago, but with a daughter, Jennifer (McCain) hellbent on justice and a star student being recruited by a local gang, he’ll be pulled back into the fight as the wanted vigilante and DC legend Black Lightning.

Adams will play Lynn, Jefferson’s ex-wife who exudes confidence and intelligence. Although she’s got a mischievous side, she’s not one to be trifled with when it comes to family.

Adams appeared in features including The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and Tron: Legacy. On TV, she most recently played the series-regular role of Rie Moran on AMC’s Feed the Beast. She also played Agent Weaver on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and co-starred in Terra Nova. She’s repped by Innovative Artists and Laura Berwick at Berwick and Kovacik Inc.

Ain't she the secretary in Batman Begins?

She was the secretary in Batman Begins

In AoS she was one of the 5 council members for "The Real SHIELD" in I think Season 2, alongside Edward James Olmos. Both were pretty menial one-note parts. Terra Nova was the last time I saw her actually have non-exposition lines and an arc, and I really liked her character.

I was watching Collider TV Talk and they mentioned the pilot and then one of the panelists made a comment about his children's names being silly: Thunder & Lightning. They thought those were his daughters' real names and not their superhero IDs, lol. Come on...it's a superhero show it's not that hard to figure out.

Having watched a few Collider videos I get the impression the people on that aren't the sharpest pencils in the box. I think the appeal is they have people on it that are raving lunatics.

Shouldn't be too long before some more meaty details start to emerge.

I hope they can establish a different tone than Flash/Legends without resorting to as much melodrama as Arrow/Supergirl (and, recently, Flash too). I like all four shows but I want Black Lightning to feel unique (though I do hope it ends up in the Arrowverse, even if it's on a new Earth).

DC reaches an agreement for Isabella to receive full credit for the creation of the character.

Could be that they're getting their ducks in a row for a series order. They wouldn't want a dispute with the creator hanging over their new show.

Hmm...cutting Trevor Von Eedon out as co-creator? Sounds like a Bob Kane and Bill Finger situation.

Background reminds me of the posters for Legends of Tomorrow.

Good catch...the background is very similar.

I don't love the costume, but I don't hate it either. As I was just telling a friend, it's "acceptable." Hopefully, it grows on me.

Kind of need to see the suit in person, rather than a heavily shopped poster.

Yeah. Arrow and Flash's outfits have evolved over time, haven't they (I don't keep up with their shows)? If this show makes it past the pilot and lasts long enough I think the same will be happen for BL.

Someone on another forum was saying he's wearing Black Bolt's outfit,

If they made the techno bits black and got rid of the weird light up bellybutton, I think it would improve a lot.

I'm not feeling it. I don't think it's too bad, but I feel they could've made it look a lot better and simple.

The costume looks a bit busy. I wonder how much they'll end up using it, or will it be only occasionally in the episode.

If they spent the money to make it, they're definitely going to use it.
